Hi Churchfront, I work for a production company in Nigera(Showgear) and we use the LV1 as our main mixing board since 2019, we usually do our monitor through the use of P16i and P16 for the Musicians and wedges or Shure PSM for Vocals
15:30 @jake mentioning the restart of ProPresenter to clear all issues. I have the same problem and is it just the amount t of video cache being stored? It is super frustrating and I’m glad ai’m not the only one having to do this.
They release a new version of LV1 almost every year. You should look at what V9 was compared to V14 now. I think 14 is the latest. I’ve mixed a couple times in Avantis and it’s very nice. However, LV1 is my favorite desk because it sounds so good. It has so much air on everything. It’s a super wide image too.
I've seen way too many LV1 systems have issues to even consider one at this point. From servers not responding to the system straight up not powering on.
Hey I’m planning to get a avantis solo but I’ve seen some negative comments on them freezing or faders braking. Have you worked on it? How is it. Also I’m thinking about a DM7 compact because is brings more local inputs(16 in total) when the avantis brings 8 and the Yamaha also comes with the Dante card. And of course Yamaha is very solid
I truly haven’t look too much into the LV1 because I’m definitely a “console guy”. But does LV1 easily give you access to other I/O like Madi, Dante, etc? If not, that could be a dealbreaker for some if you’re comparing apples to oranges at this moment.
With Avantis, if the manufacturer abandons the product (ala Soundcraft Si 3+, a huge console that was never updated and abandoned just a few years in), it keeps working . If Waves decided that you must upgrade to LV2, then you MUST or it will stop working. It's getting into the trend of never actually owning anything. Also, the Avantis is a real product with real faders, which makes it much more approachable for people that have been mixing for 20-30 years. I also have reservations on paying a monthly subscription and possibly having a card issue or other reason that the sub didn't get paid and my church can't have audio for a service.
For that price range, you'd probably be better off looking at the Behringer X-Air XR18 and control via a tablet. If you can swing it, the X-32 Compact is a fairly affordable console that would most certainly meet your needs.
My opinion is Avantis + Sound grid Card + A fast Mac and a couple servers+ the stage boxes. Why. Because! If you switch fails, if your server cuts out, if your cat 6 cable fails, if someone screws something up you still have your avantis.
With Avantis, you MUST consider the additional cost of a stagebox and an IO card. Also, the way you guys are talking about features, that's a "big church" approach with paid staff. The vast majority of churches in the U.S. and Canada are just not like that. They are volunteers who aren't gear nerds.
We have the Avantis, and we only have a stage box with it, no IO card. We did go with dPack too. We have a relatively small church with very few volunteers, and I’ve been able to use the soft keys to make it easy for anyone to use if I’m not there. It takes some time to tweak to get the sound you want, but once it’s set up, it’s pretty good to go.
@@henryvanweeren7233 we have about 28 full time adult men, about double that for women, and maybe 30 kids. In any given service, we’re usually fewer than 100 total in the building.
@@homeenforcer That's fantastic! Most churches I've attended with fewer than 100 rarely have expensive equipment like that. It's great you're church is blessed with committed, giving people!
@@henryvanweeren7233 yes sir, we are truly blessed. We had a decision to make of where to spend the budget, and we decided to invest in sound. We’re still using a camera from 6 years ago, but with our online stream getting better, we’re seeing more and more people attend in person.
Ah, it's so sad that this is unfeasible in Brazil. Import costs are very high because taxes sometimes exceed 100% of the value of the product, in addition to the REAL being very devalued in relation to the Dollar. Pray for the churches in Brazil.
Oh! I'm a Waves specialist in Brazil, I work for GSB Pro Audio and our biggest clients are churches, some with LV1 in FOH, Monitor and transmission If you want to get in touch with us, it would be a pleasure to meet you and introduce you to LV1 live.
Depends on the church volunteers. Using Advantis is a little more volunteer friendly especially if they are used to running a traditional soundboard. However you can do more with the Lv1 system. So if your volunteers are already used to Waves plugins, I would go that direction. You can't go wrong either way. Both systems are excellent! My church uses dLive s7000 and we have a full choir and orchestra. I love Allen and Heath. But we are looking to add a waves card and servers for that extra control we can have with plugins.
I use LV1 sice v9 and i have to say that many of plugins is useless on live. I stick with F6, D5, SSL, CLA, and so on..... the most strange thing what i have with LV1 is the noise floor. I used Digico S21 before LV1 as FOH console and have to say that Digico preamps and summing is way way more "studio clarity" like LV1. BUT at end of the day and all comp and effects the LV1 "character" have very uniqe and lovely sound. So i thick with LV1.
And the main reason for the LV1 vote was the hope that someday somebody deploy the stagerack with 16 in and 24 out :D because we need tons of outputs for IEM stereo mixes. and i do not understand WHY still does not exitsts something like that! For one singer (1 ch in) we need 2 ears (2 channels out) so ratio 24/12 is useless we need stege boxes like 24/24 nowdays ...
NOTHING what is offered! Overrated, Overpriced etc, but what matters to me the most... both systems are max 96Khz, I would like them to be 192Khz 24bit compatible and finally adapt to the needs of the users, it will reduce latency and be within Ethernet 1Gbit capacity 64 I/O @ 192Khz 128 I/O @ 96Khz 256 I/O @ 48Khz By the way, what kind of imbecile would be, to pay $20,000 + for a PC-based finger sensitive "toy' that costs no more than $1000 or $4000 for EMPTY metal box DX32 Modular Expsnder... F you I would gladly pay up to $2000 or 10% of the asking price!
Absolutely cannot relate to any church that has a budget like that. We had a Peavey XR700 and a pair of column speakers. We eventually got a couple of choir mics. Also if a church has drums, they are doing Satan’s work.

V15 is already out
In ear technology has an in ear setup for lv1
The prime preamp cards are the new ones whereas the other options are their standard preamps on the normal stageboxes.
When I say new I mean 4 years old instead of 7
in my church we have a soundcraft si expression but the master fader isnt controlling anithing pls help!
@churchfont is early bird only for those attending in person?

They do make a Dante bridge for the lv1 system kind of like an expansion card but its a 1u rack unit
There are a few options for connectivity with Dante and Madi, the only protocol that is not supported directly is AVB.

What about if you only have about $1500 budget for an upgrade from an analogue Yamaha MG20?

Great ❤
We did the avantis without deep pack
Dlive cdm64 + c1500 surface is a much better deal with the 64 dyn8 instances and 128 channels if more racks are added in the future.
The cdm64 has 64 physical xl inputs and 32 outputs built in but all dlive systems can handle up to 128 in and 64 out if I/o cards or DX ports are used

give me physical faders any day
