Took a few more shots than it should have- I was getting used to the sights. The front ramp you basically have to set so the top is level with the top of the rear U-notch on the older snub nose models. Longer barrels, and newer snub nose smiths the front sight is a little taller or the bore axis is slightly different. Just getting used to each unique gun is key :)
Those 6 shot k frame snubbies are great revolvers. I have the model 64, in 2 inch, which is the model 10’s cousin. The 64 is Stainless. Another enjoyable video. 🤙🏻🤙🏻
I inherited a Model 10-5 with a 4'' barrel. I know for a fact that it wasn't shot very much. I've only shot about 100 rounds with it. It is a very nice gun. I'm really happy to have it.
Guys i agree i got a real nice close to prestine 4" 10-5.....right now i have hornady critical defense 110g or 15 i cant remember inside of it ..i have glocks 1911s other revolvers.but i love this pistol and am wondering 125g federal semi wadcutter hallow point +p...what do yall think about that as a nightstand gun? Or will the hornady red tips suffice?
@@istartedajoke1704 Order the critical defense is great ammo, I typically run flat nose 130 something green in mind, just because it’s what I have most of. A flat nose will penetrate less than a round nose or appointed knows, but the critical defense is probably the best
@@crankygunreviews thanks for the quick response i was hoping the fastest would be lunch you got back to me lol..well thanks ill be leaving them in. Especially out of a 4 inch barrel and as a nightstand gun close range is what were talking for the most part so i appreciate you
@@istartedajoke1704 in my opinion anything that functions is better than nothing, but like I said, I typically shoot flat nose. I do have a few boxes of critical defense that I carry, and do shoot from time to time just to make sure they function (which they always do)
Have a 4" version. I'm not particularly accurate with it even with wadcutters. I'm a better shot with my Model 15 4" and Model 19 2.5" both with adjustable sights, so I'm thinking of selling mine.
no, that was some good shooting at the cans! you made it look easier than it is

Thanks for watching! I prefer blued guns, but the stainless can be more rugged, and you don’t have to worry about rust
I have a '75 Model 10-5, and the single action is like warm butter...so awesome! Wahi' Valleys
Yes, these older smiths have amazing actions on them! All my K frames are smooth. I think my Military and Police from 1928 is the best though.
Links to those revolvers? Wahi' Valleys

Love it!!! I’m glad you got to put some rounds through it.
It’s another sweetheart!
Such a clean revolver
Thanks, I like it a lot. Shoots well too

I just picked up one at for $480 at my local pawn can wait to get it to the range
Wow that’s a great deal! I know I paid over $700 for mine
If you don't mind how much did you pay? Just bought a 1964 10-5 she's gorgeous waiting to pick it up
$730 is what I paid. It’s pricey, but I can tell it was barely ever shot
Pretty much the going rate now.

The model 10 has sights more akin to a model 36 or other snubbie- you just have to get used to them. I’m pretty accurate with mine
@@crankygunreviews I actually just came back from the range with my Model 10. Did much better this time around shooting at 7 yards.
@@rs52594 Thats great to hear! Using the sights was a bit of learning for me, but they are very accurate guns once you figure out the sights
POW POW fizzle😂🤙
if you thought you had a hang fire WHY DID YOU KEEP PULLING THE TRIGGER??? that rotates the cylinder.. that could have been REALLY BAD.
Meant to say hard primer not hang fire.
