This was so interesting that they actually allowed you to tour these abandoned houses. I find old houses like this and the items people left behind so fascinating.
This was something I've been wanting to do for awhile tbh, but never had an opportunity. I couldn't believe some of the things that were left but I guess if you have limited time or you were moving to a smaller space, you'd have to make some decisions on what to keep and what to leave. I had so much fun doing this and I'm glad my schedule worked out that I was able to fit this into my itinerary.
No problem. Really enjoyed this. Yes creepy basements are usually the highlight of these explorations. You never know what you will find. Thanks for watching!
Yeah I imagine this would be a pretty good place to live. Decent size houses and a nice little community to engage your neighbors. The chickens were great. They definitely weren't afraid of people. Thanks for watching!
I try to keep everything fresh and diverse. As much as I enjoy hiking, I also love exploring historic stuff and some off the grid things. There should be something for everyone on my channel that they can enjoy. All 6 of my Chicago videos coming out are totally different from each other. I think it keeps everything interesting. Thanks for watching and coming along on my adventures
This village has some very interesting history to it . If you visit there Facebook page, they will occasionally have a former resident write a little article on what it was like living there and there thoughts now years later. I imagine for some this was the only home they knew so it was very emotional for them leaving. Thanks for watching!
That's funny all the chickens following u around lol. Pretty cool like tour guides lol. Great vid too! Sad to see all the stuff people left behind, makes ya wonder why they left it and couldn't take it with them. Enjoyed the vid and subscribed :) Can't wait to see more, thanks!
The chickens were a nice surprise and yeah they were almost like a tour guide through that house. The residents had to leave because the drinking water was contaminated and Armstrong County condemned the town and forced the residents to leave. I was amazed at what stuff people left there. I guess some just left in a hurry others took the time to pack everything up. Really cool experience and fascinating village to explore. Thanks for watching and subscribing! Plenty more great content coming!
I've never heard of this place or the term "yellow dog". Looks like it was a beautiful place to live. Some of those items look like they were left behind more recently than 2010-2014. Google says it was heavily vandalized. Very interesting place. Bet it's spooky at night!
I had never heard of it either until recently when I saw a Facebook post about it. When most people think of PA ghost towns they think of Centralia, the town that is still burning underground. I wondered that too about the items. Some of them are in pretty good shape yet. There's not as much vandalism here as there usually is at these abandoned places, no graffiti just some broken windows. They recently started doing nighttime tours of this which would a whole other experience I'm sure. Maybe I'll go back and do the nighttime exploring at a later date. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Some of these houses have seen better days. Are you looking to buy? I’m guessing you can get a deal. I think it’s neat that you were able to tour the homes without any guides. 👍
This was one of the coolest things I've ever done. They really let you have a lot of freedom to wander in and out of the buildings and to explore as much as you want. I am looking to buy but since this was originally company owned its stipulated you can't sell the houses individually so you'd have to buy the whole village and some of these houses are on the verge of collapse. Thanks for stopping by Craig and commenting.
Yes it is sad to think that these homes were well cared for and loved and now they sit abandoned and some being reclaimed by nature. Hopefully the new owners can restore some of them so they may be occupied again. Thanks for watching!
Wow sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I was there on one of the open house weekends and everyone there was courteous and we had a great time. Its under new ownership now so perhaps the last owner wasn't as open with people exploring. Thanks for watching!
Dale Pidcoe DuBoistown Pa Will UA-cam show me episode 400 of the classic Electric Company that originally aired on PBS at 1PM on Friday November 1st.,1974? Yeah they been trying to fix them up but since its privately owned the owner doesn't have the money to do that. That's why they allow these tours. Its kind of a fundraiser to help fix the houses. Thanks for watching!
Ahh thanks for that info. I probably could have just looked it up but I got so busy with life that I forgot to do that. Thanks for watching and commenting!

This is such an interesting and informative video, I wonder about the thoughts going through their minds when they left.

Perfect place for a horror firm, but it sad to think that at one time these houses was someone homes.

Put the homeless in these buildings. Better than outside
Not a bad idea. No running water or electricity but at least they will have shelter and a roof over there heads. Thanks for watching and commenting.
