Man I'm not looking forward to nothing Sega drops until the fix basic shit like sonic origins/colors/dlc for those games.Frontiers is a good idea for a sonic game but man just thinking about how we got an incomplete game at launch and had to wait a year for the rest of it made me refuse to buy sonic superstars. And they wanna speak on quality? They should hire the fans cause they seem to know what the community wants and expects. I'm not even excited for shadow generations at all. How will they handle shadows story is the question how much play time we would get as shadow 🤔. And the remasters that they speak on might take too long or just bad all together. Like sonic adventure 2 how would we get peak knuckles with the rapper hunnid p. I don't even think Sega wants to deal with him as rumors says he wasn't even officially credited 🤷🏿♂️. Look, if we get the old release schedule back, a Sonic spin off game every year and every two to three years a mainline game, I would be happy. Games like Sonic Riders, Sonic Rush, Sonic the FIghters, and Sonic and the Black Knight are classics!
I just hope that the yearly game releases means that we'll start to get more spinoff games like the ones you mentioned. I'd love new riders, fighting games or party games to be honest and even an rpg would be cool to see as well!

It's writing isn't that great as it leaves way too many things not properly answered such as:
Why is Sonic The only one not captured??? And where's tails and Amy?!?!? They're captured!?!?! WHY!?!?!?! and by who!?!? Who was preventing them from making any attempts at defining themselves like Knuckles did before he got trapped. Why's Sonic even the key when it's just glossed over for majority of the story.
And fighting man...THE FIGHTING when the hell did Sonic learn these tricks and where!?!?! Other than Cyloop and those skinny leg thingy he does, the fighting makes no sense and is inferior to unleashed in every way possible.
And the cutscenes are just flat out boring and horrendous to look out,no other Sonic game looked this bad with uninteresting cutscene.
You can't say that's an opinion because that's why you're even a fan in the 1st place with no boring cutscene and engaging stories with good writing and characterization, not like frontiers.

Releasing Sonic games every year could be an issue for quality control. I am however very confident in Sega because they are going to pour in a lot more resources into Sonic games than they used to. I hope that this means that in 2025 we will get Sonic X Silver Unleashed.

It seems they're including DLC and expansions on this yearly release plan maybe mobile games too, I'm not worried about those two since they don't require too much resources, now when it comes to ports/remasters (that I sure hope they're including in this because everyone wants them!) that's when they need to put their best teams working together.

I was new to sonic in 2005 that’s when I became a fan and yh from then up until about 2011 there was always something to look forward to for sonic it was like oh there’s a new sonic game or oh what’s this game in the 10s it wasn’t like that and the stuff we were getting was mid or bad post generations until frontiers

Let's hope this movie era ACTUALLY changed stuff within SEGA's business model and quality control.
This is the modern day and age, and many popular franchises are no longer need to "struggle", "adapt", or "survive".
The console wars are over and everyone has an open chance to cash in, but we'll have to wait and see if SEGA somehow doesn't lose this opportunity an fumbles it like they've somehow done with a lot of stuff over the past years.
I don't "perfect peak" each and every year, but that they're more creative and smart with what they got.
Use more characters. Explore various environments and mechanics, not just with Sonic, but with the entire cast. Discover new ways to revitalize the past like they did with Mighty and Ray in Sonic Mania Plus. So much potential.

Ngl having Sega ip jump into Sonic stages like Crazy Taxi with City Escape, Jet Set Radio jumps into Speed Highway or Mania Studiopolis in 3d, Vitural Fighter 6 with Sonic the Fighters stage, etc sounds lit. Also would like visa versa for future Sonic games (Just fun dlc like the Nights dlc from Lost World)
Aside from Shadow Generations, if Silver and Blaze are not playable in the games that come after it, I'm not buying them.

like the dimensions are colliding because the eggmen brought the chaos and sol emeralds together for something.
sonic and shadow could be the playable duo for their dimension and blaze and silver take the other, making shadow/silver’s stages a little more combat based (but still linear sonic platforming.) to adhere to their powers and keep the full on speed stages to sonic and blaze and really make them spectacles to watch and run through

mah god, the good ol' 2000's era 'yearly releases' sounds soooo hype. I do hope the quality stays up tho...and you're right, 5 years development of Forces and it was shit anyway. Might as well do a yearly release with a bigger team perhaps? Or more effort, better quality control? since they realize now that more effort = sales and good scores.

I just hope that what is talked about the game is hopeful for something more than a port. Please don't tell me it's just the same 2011 console game with roughly 30 minutes of new gameplay. On the other hand, I'd buy this if it included A LOT of new levels or the full 3DS lineup of levels. You know, just asking for SOMETHING to justify the rerelease, or I'm just sticking to my PC version.

I think that a yearly releases of titles like the 2000s is highly unlikely. Look at that era, there was a budget and a team expertise that just doesn't exist anymore. Not the budget (we lost it after Sonic Boom), not the experienced team (we lost it after Gens). Frontiers is a low budget game compared to a game like Gens, despite the appearance of more 'content'.
I think 'yearly releases' means lazy re releases like SxS Gens and low effort games that appear to a casual, brand consuming public. In short, I think they are going for that sweet sweet base of mobile games consumer from southeast asia, that is where the money is. Frontiers was probably just a part of that business scheme
I don't think Frontiers is low budget compared to Gens. Gens is just a better game because the level designers were more on point, but Gens is considered lower budget compared to Unleashed due to there being far less content.
@@premydaremy I'm not sure... In terms of new assets, i think Unleashed and Gens might be on par, and again, more bloating doesn't means better game. Unleashed is as long as Gens, but is padded by trash, aka RPG system and Pickle

Keep in mind: the average time it takes to develop a modern AAA game is now 5-7 years. Single-year development cycles, while they might've been feasible in the 2000's, are no longer realistic in the modern day video game industry. Yearly Sonic releases of any kind will be bad for the franchise due to the increasing complexity of modern video games. Not to mention developer burnout.

To be fair Sonic Team prove time and time again that it doesn't matter how many years they have, they could have all the time in the world but they will still manage to put out mediocre content. I rather have back-to-back yearly mediocrity where we might have a gem here and there instead of waiting for 4 years for the same mediocrity and then another 4 years for another.
