One of the better deleted scenes. I'd vote for a release of an extended version with all the deleted scenes restored. Heat really is that good--I've seen it a dozen times and it holds up extremely well to multiple viewings.

Good scene, makes sense though it wasn't used. The way Hannah finds out about "Slick" in the movie is way more effective.

This should've been in the movie. I'm watching the deleted scenes in order here b/c I have the single disc dvd, and this is the first scene i felt should've been in the movie.

One day we was kicking it up on the C Block, about to hit the shower
I said oh hell no, this woman's a dude not a flower
Then I said peace out and give him the sign
    And some Funky Cold Medina

all this scene really accomplishes, is to show you Micheal Cherrito is about par with Waingro...except that Mike had Neil to lead him and rein him in, while Waingro didn't have that and was more the cowboy. When they meet in the cab of the tow truck, Mike is sitting higher than him and tells him to STFU, which Waingro takes as a slight, and then takes it out on the armoured car driver claiming the guy was f'ing with him. if Waingro hoped he was sending a message to Mike (along with the nonchalent comment about does anyone else want pie), it sure backfired--Neil had already set up to execute him.

Even the way Cherrito executed the last guard in the armored truck heist, he had to look back to Neil and ask permission first. Whereas, Waingro - unprovoked- took matters into his own hands and just started shooting.

@@beautifullion69 right, and after the crew realizes the Heat is on them, they meet and confer over the last bank job...Cherrito tells Neil, "hey, whatever man, I do what you do". Even though he says it is the juice for him, he's being beta to Neil. He recognizes following Neil has made him a rich family man so far--far better established than if he had been a wild man on his own like Waingro. Or like Chris, who "doesn't have enough steaks in the freezer" yet ends up being the only survivor after this last score.

@@albertgaspar627 I don’t know why but I find it intriguing that each guy in this crew can easily be an alpha in their own right but it’s very clear that Neil is the leader. I didn’t sense a power struggle amongst them. They just follow him. Neil casually mentioned getting the bank heist package to Chris and he didn’t have any objections in spite not knowing the details.

@@beautifullion69 some might say they are "sigma males" but that typically is a lone wolf type. You raise a salient point, Neil doesn't have to be the hardest or most macho to earn the respect of leadership. His crew simply realizes they will do well in his wake, they recognize his path is one leading to where they want to be--Neil is after both risk and reward. He sees the ultimate goal of the gang, not just the details. They could easily get distracted by revenge with Van Zant as well as Waingro and get stuck playing defense rather than go for more scores.

@@albertgaspar627 and how did Hanna know that Neil ran that crew? Maybe he just radiates that type of energy;) He went from not knowing who he has to calling him a “star” and raving how “sharp” he was.

In the script it says he just cut him a colposcopy hole.
Even though here they say he stabbed him 30 times he doesn't say he killed him, although I think you'd be dead after 7-8 stabs.

Slick is Sizemore's character, not Kilmer's.

The scene with TONE LOC is the Only scene in the movie that DIDNT make sense… How does a person knows that a person is “up to something” , doesn’t tell him details or anything leading to whatever, but let’s the cops know that this random guy that uses the term “slick” is a suspect? Based on what?
