Farm Machine Shed Tour!

- Most of the Machine Shed is now complete. I thought I'd give an update on it, and how it turned out! We still have yet to do the gutters, water, and electric onit. Also, Spence got a New 6.0 and was pretty stoked to show it off!
John, Pioneer Man!, stopped out and we did some yield checks. Yields are actually gonna be better than I originally thought! Also stopped by a Steffes Farm auction to try and get a 606c head bought for this fall- No luck on it tho!

I wired a buddies shed. For lighting I talked him into choosing commercial grade LED’s. He loves the light quality and that his brightly lit shop does not spin his electric meter.😉 Very nice shed.
I wired my grandfathers shop and tried getting him to go led and he didnt 3 months later I switched them out and he was amazed
@@brysonstrode3251 and the LED’s price has come way down.
@@jeffreyvandervoort8324 yes and even if they hadnt dropped theyd still be worth it because of how much better they make the visibility its honestly eye opening lol
We have LEDS in our shop and it’s definitely worth it
LEDs are the way to go there energy efficient and also very bright
Glad you went full concrete floor. Looks awesome man.
I’m addicted to watching these videos you are so inspiring. Keep up the great videos you make people so happy
Great to see your progress!! So good to see someone always going for quality in equipment and building. This will pay back in the long run! Best of wishers from Norway 🇳🇴
I would put your housing or living area in the back because going in and out of the door with disk and stuff it can be easily hit more than the door sides
Good job man, big respect, your farm is growing enormously and I am glad. Keep that good work. God bless you!
Love seeing how your farm is comming along, shed looks amazing, keep up the great work
awesome work guys, always great seeing yah live ur passions from sim farming to real farming! jealous
*It's official. I've watched all 21 of your videos. I've been a subscriber since I saw you on "Barn Talk", and the video titled "I bought a $1,000,000 farm". Today I realized that I had missed some of the earlier postings and just finished bingewatching the several (10 or so?) that I had missed.*
*I really look forward to following your adventures in farming. You've got the charm, and you've got the formula down. Your 1M UA-cam award will be coming sooner than you think. I grew up on a small cattle farm, but am not a farmer - I just enjoy your content. I'm watching from near Seattle and look forward to every new video that drops! Thanks for sharing your story.*
Building looks awesome and the corn is well on its way to a great harvest. Great job brother!
Love the new shed! Looks really good and love the content on this channel and The Squad.
One thing I would definitely recommend for tool storage is to try and stay away from benches. Obviously having some bench space is critical but they tend to become a pilling space for tools down the road and it just makes it easier if u say organized right from the start. We have one big bench on wheels that we keep at the back of the shop for working on stuff and the rest is tool chests. Highly recommend
I just realized you machine shed is completely based off of the American Barn in fs22. Awesome!
Cool bro, loving watching the farm coming together
I love the drone shots at the end it’s a little bit déjà vu all those years of starting farms on the computer and now in real life
The barn, or as i say it the shop looks amazing man
Hello from Saskatchewan, Canada great videos thanks for sharing with us all
Awsome video grant the shed looks awsome I really like watching everything come together for you I'm happy for you 😀
That was really great Grant, thank you! That must be some heavy duty wife Spencer is planning to haul around in an F350 dually! I'm curious to see the layout you decide on for the next phase. Thanks again!
Look up LED corn cob lights. They are so worth it. Have them in our shop with about the same dimensions in 4 rows and they light up the whole shop. Also out do LED lights are always great if you ever have to work outside.
Also I would build off your shed and build a nice break room/ living quarters with AC and heat and get a nice smart TV with some WiFi out there, we are spoiled dump truckers down here in ATL.
Also on mainly hand tools, to start out with id go husky or craftsman, or even Harbor freights Icon series. We keep them on our service trucks for our employees and they do well and they hold up. The Icon box is one of the better boxes out there and they hold up some weight, this is coming form someone who uses, all Mac tool, k tool, Klein sunex, and all the expensive tool truck tools. But it could be completely different stuff from farm tractors to dump trucks.
Missed you guys, nice shed. Spencer, you’ll have fun with your new truck
Congrats man love watching you grow
Really good man, this is gonna be a great farm
Love the size and color of garage, can’t wait for more videos
Great video. Shop looks great. Good decision on concrete the hole shop. Corn is looking good too!

Awesome shop. I love the color scheme.
Good for him that's cool to see the progress it's all coming together.🙂
Sweet man looking good! 🤘🏼
Congrats on your new shed. I remember the first one i built right after i took controll of the operation.
thanks for Sharing this Grant, good luck and God Bless
Was beyond excited to see this notification! Looks great man, can't wait for the next video 😁
Led strip lights are bright and pull very little current, plus no warmup or ballast to deal with. I used 8ft strip lights in cattle and hay barn and have been very pleased with the outcome. I've enjoyed watching your journey thus far, keep up the good work!
I think I'm gonna go LED after all the comments!
one word about the barn is enough:BEAUTIFUL :)
Very nice building! Congratulations!
Shed looks awesome Grant! 🇺🇸🇺🇸
One of my dream trucks is a dually love the truck sounds amazing
This is how ik i need notifications on ive been waiting for this video dont ask y im excited for the shed lol and any future plans you have congratulations for everything bro
I always loved that color paint scheme since I was little! Keep up the outstanding work as always!!would have been nice to see you get that 606c corn head but hey gotta do what you gotta do! Also love that dully spencer got remineds me of my dad dully thats a parts truck now for his ford F350 truck (hog) YEEYEE, and have a good one! : )
Great video! Love your channel so much!
For the algorithm. Likes, comments, shares, and subscriptions help your content creators more than you realize. Keep it up Grant!
Aye man thats a nice shed, and Spencer's new truck is sweet🤟👍
I purchased my lighting directly from Econolight. They were delivered yesterday. I chose UFO lighting for my 82x60' building with 16'4.5" clearance to trusses, very similar to your building. Econo light helped me select fixtures to get my target of 100 foot candles. Lighting has changed so rapidly in recent years. My UFO fixtures are rated for -40° F. LED is my go to now for lighting.
Thanks for the vid! Was fun watching!
I love farming I’m a big fan!! And first good job keep it up!!🦌🐎🐎🐎
Nice, keep up the awesome work, living the dream
I love those older ford f350. Also love the shed
Bro keep the vids going love watching them
Cool to see the shed up
I am so proud for you🎉🤟🏾💯
Those are the best lights we have a similar shop same length and height and these lights are really bright they work good in every season
Just built a 60’x 100’ foot shed with 16’ side walls and I put these 4 leaf LED lights they call them. Just screw in like a regular light bulb and are very bright, I only put 8 in my shed and it’s lots bright to do anything in there. Found them on Amazon. That shed is just cold storage but renovating my shop now and for sure putting them in it too!
love the farm vid dude keep it up
Nice building! I really like the color. Your bro bought a nice truck too. I just bought a JD 606c stalkmaster from original owner in MN. Looks to be in beautiful shape. Paid $32k. I’ve been seeing non stalkmasters go for high 20s. 22 was a good deal on that one.
Very nice my friend!
Wow it’s done it looks so amazing
Grandpa and I were at that auction too! Wish I would’ve seen ya!
For lights at 16' I would recommend the Hykolity 150W UFO's from Amazon. Never would I have ever thought that an Amazon LED light like that would be awesome but MAN they are impressive. I also have the Barrina 4FT LED strips and use those over my workbench and in our lean-to and they put off great light being they are 2 strips thats are angled for better coverage. (yeah I know Amazon......wow) Great shed.
Love the videos Man keep up the good work
Love your vids grant keep up the work
Big thing on 6.0's are good maintenance, don't tune then hot unless you do major internal work. Dont cheap out of oil and filters. We've had great luck with motocraft filters.
I think it’s really cool you got your farm
The shed looks pretty good
Lookin' good squad
My son Logan says he likes your videos. The shed looks great.
What a beautiful shed. Well done! As a South African farmer I keep thinking security? Must be great living in a country where you dont have to worry about someone stealing your hard earned equipment…..! Blessings
We are lucky here, it's always in back of my mind. I will have some cameras up here when we get electricity. Especially with being on UA-cam there's probably a few more people than normal that will pull in to driveway just to nose around.
Grant you should put your living quarters where the man door is so it's easier to access from the outside and more convenient
@Grant Hilbert Admin. fake
Awesome stuff. Great video. Glade to see it's all still coming together. And for sure L.E.D. no matter what for multiple reasons. Take Care Bro Be Safe Have Fun.
@Grant Hilbert Admin. You feel like a me or a brother so that's why I call you bro. Anyway thanks for replying I sent you a text. I also found you on Facebook and sent you messages on there and on messanger and been done hit the subscribe on the squad and your personal account a long time ago. I follow all y'all do and admire you very much I just hope I can make it happen like you one day. Anyway Great work keep it up and keep motivating.
@Grant Hilbert Admin. I did. Last attempt was hours ago.
Just want to say I’m loving the videos
I always love the farming life
Welker farms installed some great lights in their shed this past winter. Need to check them out.
Looks good man. Hope corn has been doing good. Know you guys have been getting some nasty storms
Got Windlast night. Sounds like I have some downed corn!
@@granthilbert5632 that isn't no good. Here in South East Iowa I got quit a bit of downed corn. Hope yours isn't as bad as mine
Yeah a little bit of corn down in central iowa
Consider multi tier lighting. For back have option for just few lights, or we’ll lit if needed. Few decent outlets couple stand lights you can adjust under.
I think are called sky lights. It’s kinda like clear tin in the roof . On a sunny day you don’t even need your lights on. Check it out you won’t be disappointed.
Yooo I'm a big fan!!!!!!!!! I love your work keep it up
I recommend putting a pellet stove in the barn. It makes it where when you’re working in the barn during the winter time it keeps everything warm. My dad and I put one in our barn and it takes a little bit but after 30 minutes the barn is normally nice and warm.
Or a Corn burner. I got one and it works a treat
Keep the videos up love them
Yes I've been waiting for the shed
606 corn heads are nice. I’ve ran them, very reliable. They do fairly decent with down corn.
Menatds have some awesome lights. I’ll send pics on Instagram tomorrow and tag you in it. Shed looks very nice. I just bought my new corn head for this fall.
It's a awesome day! Squad posted!!!!!
Glad you went all concrete. When you first mention doing only half I was like no you will regret it.
Yes same I was like oh no haha
You could do with some nice gates on the drive where it meets the road, jobs is coming along nicely mate 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Nice shed I am up here in mn we are done with wheat and edible beans next is beets soybeans and corn
That would be a beautiful place for a home!!
Lights on inside great. But don't forget about Lights outside. More the better because there's going to be time you work on equipment outside and want more light. On your main side I put in thee one in the middle and one on each side. Great job on the concrete that the best. Keep up the great videos
Hey! Shed looks nice! Use LEDS it really saves on electricity bill and don't need to change bulbs. They are super bright to.
Bullet proof 6.0’s are great trucks!
Man that’s awesome
Looks great grant ya couldn’t have done better ✌🏻
It keeps getting better
I've subscribed to you and liked everyone of your video even the squad and subscribed to that as well
Smart move doing all the concrete, if you have the means it’s the right move. Welkers had some lighting people come do their shop recently if you check out their videos
I love the living quarters idea. Since you have a 16' sidewall, you could do a loft - a shop/workspace below and a living quarters above. Not that you need yet another anonymous Internet keyboard warrior telling you how to do everything... lol! Great job, and thank you for sharing your videos - it's a lot of fun watching your progress!
YES I've been waiting to see this... I've always wanted a shed... also wish I had someone to play fs19 with like you do
Are u on pc?
@@thatonedairyfarmer9051 yeah
If you ever wanna play I'm always down, I'm the same way. Neither of my friends that have it ever want to play lol. My steam name is OneFuzzyMonkey
@@eatonrunner2 k, sweet
Finally grant wish you the best man
I waited a long time for another nice video M8 again 🤠 Like!
Love the content keep it up
the shed looks good
There are some really nice lights from Home Depot, they are a Tri-fold style LED, they're really nice for $20-35
Place is looking great man . Good move on the all concrete . What did Cole and them put up in their shop ? I think they are using LEDs . Make sure you have 2 sets of tools , one for the shop and one for the service truck . Double the wrenches in each set , open boxed ratchet as well as get you some nice impact drivers (electric) cordless . If you get a chance check out Larson farms service truck set up .
