    2:30 Atapuerca seems to be a foggy place!
    It had fog when I arrived there too!

    The cathedral in Burgos is amazing! So much light in there. I love the glass in the ceilings, especially in the big tower in the center of the cross.

    Stacy, we are in Villafria. Looking forward to Burgos tomorrow. We have an easy 18k day and hope to explore the cathdral before moving on to Tardajos. The 30k walk today was a long one. The walking up and over that hill was rough. Views were pretty good. Tell Molly - cat count 31!

    The Cathedral looks amazing. Also, we have to know if Molly ever did get her cat. :)

    Oh how much I love this cathedral. My absolute favourite, by far. It is a decent compensation for the unpleasant walk through the industrial area. 😅

      Yes. It was worth it. I liked the overall feel of Burgos a lot, also. It was small enough that it didn't feel overwhelming, and it felt like they city had made a big effort to preserve their history.

    5:18 I think I recall that stretch, and even went in to a red cross facility for pilgrims to see to my blisters.
    Unless Astorga has a similar "drive up" coinciding with Camino, for km:s.

    I am really enjoying your journey.I plan to walk next year so it's great to see your walk I don't think I could walk 5 km with out breakfast. I might need to buy some snack bars

      We did start out with a few snacks in our bag, but we ate them all on Day 3 (into Pamplona) when nothing was open. We usually ate a cookie or two before starting so we weren't starting with nothing. There were a few days when we didn't even have that.

    4:19 It seems the word "Bocatería" on the front, or perhaps "Bocateria" would refer to them serving Bocadillos.
    What some refer to as sammidges!

    • @staceyandmollypilgrims
      @staceyandmollypilgrims  Рік тому

      I could use a Bocadillo right now. I love the sandwiches in Spain.

    • @hglundahl
      @hglundahl Рік тому

      @@staceyandmollypilgrims Don't ask for one in Mexico.
      If you use the words "tinto y bocadillo" you get red wine and a sandwich in Spain, but black coffee and some piece of cake in Mexico or the rest of Latin America.
      Not sure whether "sandwich" would be the word in Mexico, not even certain whether Mexico has Spanish style sandwiches. But yes, they were excellent. Jamón serrano for instance.

    Oh wow!!!! I felt the 'shock' of being in a big town after the still of the country. Did you feel that way girls??? Beautiful cathedral. Unfortunately due to time constraints, we will miss the sections from Logrono to Leon. (Will have to go back .. a premature promise lol) Lovely to view it through your experience. 😊

    • @staceyandmollypilgrims
      @staceyandmollypilgrims  Рік тому

      Yes. We felt that same thing - especially in Pamplona and Logroño. We decided that if we do it again, we won't stay in those because they felt too loud and busy. Burgos, Leon, and Astorga felt a little less loud to us. We'd probably stay in those again. At least with Leon, there isn't anywhere close after it that I would want to stay in.

    • @staceyandmollypilgrims
      @staceyandmollypilgrims  Рік тому

      Thinking about missing Logroñ to Leon, I might try to walk either a couple of days past Logroño or the first two days of the Meseta and then skip walking Leon to Astorga. That was a tough stretch from a scenery standpoint. Although, I wouldn't want to miss the city of Leon. It's hard to figure out the best way - it was all good!
