I've had this hilt for about a week now and the biggest upgrade I've seen with the v3.9 Proffieboard is the power-save idle mode that puts the board to sleep until you activate the saber with the tactile switch. I LOVE that feature especially when I don't feel like charging it throughout the day lol. MTFBWY Obi-Dad!
Great video! The picture you displayed on the sail barge scene isn’t the v3! That’s called the Yuma. The Yuma was the hilt used as a short bladed stunt on the barge scene. The V3 was used as the stunt in the Throne Room Fight Scene. The Yuma turns into ISYCANL, and the ISYCANL turns into the deleted Cave scene saber or the V1. The V3 stunt saber used in the Throne Room fight scene was actually one of the Obi-Wan ANH Motorized Stunt hilts, this one being the “Death Saber”.
The V2 was basically what Mark Hamill used for the fight choreography, and used the "hero" saber for any close up shots like the deleted scene in the cave when Luke is making his final tweaks on his new lightsaber, and when Vader is holding and inspecting his lightsaber.
EDIT: I should have finished the video before my comment, cause you do address the ANH prop situation lol, hopefully the rest you find interesting though.. fun fact: the V2 is actually Alec Guinness's bladed stunt saber from ANH. When filming of ROTJ began one of the very first scenes shot was the deleted sand storm scene after Hans rescue, and in that scene Mark Hamil was given his ESB Graflex saber. Mark went up to Lucas and the prop guys and raised the question "didn't I lose this with my hand in the last film?". The production team had an "oh crap!" moment and so since Mark had spent all of ESB and pre production of ROTJ using the Obi bladed stunt as his practice sword in rehearsals they had it readily available and tossed it to him. as filming progressed they started making what would evolve into the hero. From my understanding the V3 was a modified version of the V2 and used for some of the endor and death star scenes but the cool part is the YUMA hilt. The YUMA and hero hilts are the same prop just modified. the Yuma was the bladed stunt used in the sarlacc and sand barge scenes and this same hilt would be modified slightly later on with a new control box and cleaner paint job to be the hero hilt we all know. then of course we have the R2 stunt that is seen when R2 ejects the saber into the air. The Hero hilt we see vader holding on Endor isnt even a finished prop. you can't see it in the scene but the black switch and indicator arrows are missing on that prop. Then we get to the final version of the hero. The Cave Scene interactive prop that we see Luke tinkering with in the deleted Tattoonie cave scene.
This is honestly my favorite lightsaber and in a way I associate this more with Luke than even the “hero” version because it’s what he’s using in so many scenes of ROTJ. I think I just like the silver and black with the weathering on it and not having the big control box. I also like the rounded belt clip better than the triangle one.
My favorite saber too. Love it. It’s been iconic since the first time I saw it. At least in my heart. Love the videos; you seem like a nice fellow and I hope you are! Hope to run into you one day!
Wow that's awesome obi-dad Luke's lightsaber is awesome and I'm being very honest here and saying that the kyberphonic sound font is the more accurate sound like right out of the movie very awesome🐉
My most favorite version is Luke's "Deleted Cave Scene" lightsaber. So sad too, because that's the only time in a movie where they show a lightsaber being messed with mechanically at all.... He removed the control box cover & used was using an Energy Matrix Dampener (you can buy that from other places too) to adjust the length of the blade. The replica has a control box with a removable cover & since everything in the movie wasn't perfectly made (this is 1983) the milling on the rings on the grip didn't really match each other, & it shows on the replica. Normal people might think "Those rings are off, so it's poorly made.", but a real fan would think "Hey this is just how it looked in the movie!"
That's a VERY sharp looking hilt. Nice that they've used the newer proffie v3.9 on it too. To me, the v3.9 is a bit snappier and sounds smoother, but that also could be with the speaker. I'm not 100% sure how different it is to program it though since the file layout is a little different than their v2.2 set up. I'm exploring my Obi-Wan v3.5 with the same proffie board, but not enough time to do a deep dive in it. Sadly, I can't afford one of these right now. Real life needs some TLC.
i heavily prefer Ksith's version, it has that accurate pitch shift effect on the swings that make it sound "bendy" like in the film and i also love the addition of the cave scene version, definitly my favourite lightsaber in all of star wars
So fun fact the most accurate V2 is from Solos Hold. He made his kit from holding the actual prop in hand which is owned by the owner of prop shop. May the force be with you.
You do know they have pictures of these products online right? How long of a video do you expect him to make for 1 hilt? This channel points you in the right direction it's up to you to do your homework when interested in any product.
Wow great looking saber! I'm such a sucker for the crazy accurate hilts like that 🙌, sweet review! As far as fonts go, both really sound great but I will always be partial to the GOAT🐐@Kyberphonic
Do you think you like the design of his Hero or the V2 lightsaber better??
Meh, it's a'right
All sabers rock! This is pretty sweet in my mind. Thanks as always Obi "Dad" Kenobi. :)
So glad to see this review! I’ll be getting this saber for my birthday next month and I CAN’T WAIT!!
V2 design is the best in my opinion
@@LoreMastersPod i agree, the 2nd / second one : )
That saber will always have the top place of my heart. Hearing that ignition will never fade. This is the Way. May the force be with you.
I love that there's finally a saber with black instead of that copper color on the thin neck.
Honestly! The black just looks so much nicer than the copper neck. Copper and gold accents are nice on other hilts, but not Luke's
So awesome to see a Star Wars fan passionate about their fav lightsabers
V2 is my fav lightsaber of all time! CCSabers did a great job capturing the details of this hilt.

Cannot say enough great things about ccsabers amazing customer service and they stand by there products unlike some other companies.

I got the V2 from NSabers and I love it!

Always love your videos, 👍

I love the V2 but i think my favorite is the hero cave version.

Does it come with built-in? Sound fonts
I so want one cuz it’s the most movie accurate however I wouldn’t duel with it cuz the blade doesn’t sit very far into the hilt

Used to like this channel but all the jump cuts makes it so he doesnt let you see the actual product.
