    Thanks for these videos man, I'm trying to soundproof my bedroom on the cheap, it's also my gaming room and my work from home room - I care for my terminally ill father and since I have to live in their house I don't want to disturb them with my sick beats or my childish gamer rage.

    My door is hollow and plastic. Is it necessary to change it to wood?
    I have a foam bed about 2 inches and im thinking of sticking it onto my plastic door and onto the gaps between the frame i wonder if that would do the work

    Is there a way to make door hangers more quiet? Like adding felt to reduce the sound coming from friction of metal against the door frame?
    Last resort for me is to get a drill-in for y hanger but those are rare to find. Could go with command strips...

    Pfff... Green glue everywhere!!! I sealed everything with simple silicone for 5€ and it works perfect!!!

    • @soundproofguide
      @soundproofguide  4 роки тому +9

      I would suggest any type of acoustic sealant, not necessarily Green Glue. The main thing about an acoustic sealant is that it will stay rubbery and won't crack over time letting noise through. Thanks for your feedback.

    I wonder if I can use epoxy paint as an alternative to soundproofing/accoustic paint?

    • @spamspam79
      @spamspam79 3 роки тому

      It's not the type of paint that makes it soundproof, but soundproof paint has additives and particulates that raise the density and minimize sound transfer.

    95% of images are unrelated to the narration. Also, don't seal the bottom of your door if you have central air. Not mentioned in video, huge oversight.

    • @soundproofguide
      @soundproofguide  3 роки тому +8

      95% is a bit of a stretch... But you’re right about the bottom of the door when having central air. That’s the reason why some rooms in my house can’t handle a door sweep. Easy to forget things while making a video, thank you for pointing that out! I’ll make sure to talk about that in a future video. 🙂

    You're the best.🏆 Wish I'd seen this earlier as I just threw away a styrofoam cooler. Even more, wishing I had the money to hire YOU. Every time I watch one of your vids I learn something. Most often vids are little more than thinly-veiled advertisements that only tease at giving information. YOU have the integrity to deliver. I sure appreciate your channel, and you. Thank you for giving me hope that someday, I won't have to hear the conversations of people who park near my house. If I can hear them-----👂-----they can hear ME.
    Keep 'em coming. 👍💯💃

    This video is terrible. Don’t try and fill your door styrofoam FFS. Buy the heaviest door you can afford. Buy cheap weather strips to go all round and a draft excluder for the bottom.
