@@MireVale Wow it’s almost like I’m in the animal profession and know what I’m talking about based off my experience and education and not regurgitating talking points from UA-cam videos. Dogs need someone to be their leader otherwise they get stressed out, dogs can tell when their owner is not taking a leadership position or providing structure and is a huge pushover and this leads to behavioral problems or a manipulative dog. Most dogs behavioral issues are because an owner does not step up and provide structure and boundaries as a good “head” of the pack, and thus the dog tries taking control (and displaying undesirable behaviors) bc it feels there is no control at all in its life.
@@MireVale No...that's your own association for words at play. They aren't "invoking" anything other than what they're saying. Wow, it's like you can be confidently and willfully ignorant and negligent of what others are saying and still think you're in the right here. All intelligent and autonomous organisms need some form of structure in life. Social animals need social structure. It's not goddamn rocket science. They're saying that if someone doesn't take up the mantle of providing such structure for a more inexperienced party, then the inexperienced party will do so by themselves without fully knowing the implications of their behaviors down the line. Sounds a bit like parenting a human child: that's weird, right? The fact that you can't discern a difference in what they're saying past "oh, oh look everyone, they're saying that someone needs to 'boss' a dog around as the alpha" is honestly repugnant and just...weak. Bosco and Prince are so awesome. I love how they have their own styles. Bos is like im gonna stare you in the face until you act right. Where Prince is like, "you better calm down man, you better calm down, BOOM! I told you to knock it off! But we cool, lets play." So awesome.
My european dobie possesses both of these traits without me even needing to train them. He won’t act out unless another dog tries him or he gets fed up with them. It’s a natural instinct for a european doberman to act in these ways.

My dog did that to another dog at the dog park when we were still going there. He seemed so vicious, but didn't put a scratch on the dog at all. He told the other dog what he was doing wasn't good. After that, the other dog was much better. Better than the humans who thought he was killing their dog. It happened so fast, no had a chance to respond until it was over. It was short, sweet, and really good for the other dog. My dog said, not ok! The dog said, ok! Ok! And that was it. It was over. I was so proud of him for showing his doggie maturity
A large Lab did that to my dog fairly recently. They were being nice with each other and beginning to socialize, but then my dog growled under his breath and took a bit of a stance, at which point the other dog went right at him, and I thought he was going to wreck him, but he didn't put a scratch on him, just let him know that what he did wasn't cool and wouldn't be tolerated. Was interesting to watch
@Charlie Dehn but your dog did the growling at the other dog which set off a negative energy. First thing you can tell by two dogs is if their tails are in a happy swing or in an angry/aggressive sway and if their hackles are up. Even than they may just need to get a sniff going and than walk away. Rarely will you see two dogs go at it at a dog park and I mean… really go at it but if it does happen. Grab the dogs by the back legs and wheelbarrow them. It breaks the moment of everything. The last thing you need is the entire dog population being involved in a dog fight and that will happen once they hear the sound of fighting and owners screaming. It’s like a cowbell for foods on the table.

Anyway, long story short. Thanks man, wanted you to know your helping a family put all the way over in Scotland 🏴
I'm glad I cam across this video. My sister's maltipoo, Toby, tried being aggressive with other small dogs at the dog park. That was until he tried doing that to a small pinscher and what happened next was amazing. Toby tried to attack him and the pinscher immediately raised his long skinny legs and almost had him on a chokehold, holding Toby down for about 20 seconds. He just stared him down and held Toby down. Toby immediately calmed down and did NOT mess with any of the dogs after that. We were in awe that another small dog literally put him into place.
What would have happened if your sister's dog would have gotten bitten/seriously hurt? It seems that Beckman's dogs are expertly trained not to harm another animal.
Pincers were bred for loan collectors, they would come along to protect the guy as people would often try to sic dogs on them. This is essentially what they were made to do.
Maybe one of the humans should’ve put him in his place… if you want to bring your dog to a dog park it’s your responsibility to make sure they can handle it.
I love dogs and I have seen quite a few videos explaining dog behavior but this is really the first time I have personally seen this level of understanding. You kind sir (madam as well if your team of dog handlers also have women) deserve respect. Consider me an official subscriber!
you dont need to train your dogs for this, i mean one can say u need to i find it bullshit. i took my pup at ~10 weeks old to a field where tons of dogs play, sniff etc w/e dogs do. All these dogs where social obviously i asked first how they will do with a pup people told me the dogs do nothing. so off i go i drop my pup inside and he plays he runs he has the time of his life while often being put in his place. these people didnt teach their dogs just all these dogs are social and often around dogs knownin the language if people have a dog and it never got to play or run with other dogs ye they dont know their own language they dont know its cool with other dogs etc. i mean i know for a fact that my dog doesnt bite he never did in 8 years i got him. sometimes when a annoying (in my eyes) pup is around him i see him turnin away and doing things thats obvious to me that my dog doesnt want anymore but he a lot of time passes before my dog puts the pup in his place. Then he gently goes his way again and from time to time plays with the pup also but after one time putting the dog in his place theres never a second time that this pup is going on for so long the second time they realise quite fast its time to back off and play time is over. its people who ruin dogs in my eyes. no dog is born aggressive at the end of the day dogs are pact animals so obviously they are suppose to be with multiple dogs and feel good.
As one who was raised by a Veterinarian and who worked with him for 7+ years, I'm absolutely on board with how you use your dogs to train other dogs. Thank you for sharing this information and the slow motion body language. I feel that as humans we can mimic dog body language to better speak to our best friends. I for one have never had problems with dogs but I chalk it up to immersive experience. My older brother was a yellow lab, 1 year my senior. Putting him down when I was 14 might have been the saddest I'd ever felt up until that point. Dogs are just amazing creatures and they deserve a good life where their care-taker respects them for who they CAN BE, not who they are and never like a human! Much respect from me to you and also your dogs!
Belive it or not dogs like Bosco and prince are considered what’s called a “dog teacher” basically a dog teacher is a dog who is specifically trained to direct teach and discipline other dogs and they are usually companions to dog trainers (such as myself) I myself have a dog teacher who does the same type of learning like bosco and prince Im glad to see more dog teachers like them because it will be easier to train other dogs who really need help Carry on ur doing amazing Lots of love and support from me andy dog teacher Zeus
I do agree and support this since i also use or used to use and get help from my dog in sessions. But i dont agree with a "dog teacher" is a dog specifically trained to be one. I believe and see that every healthy balanced dog is a dog teacher. It's just in their nature to know how to act when they're balanced like when to ignore another hyper excited dog or go advanced, show teeth or simple bites/nibbles to put them in place when needed. They're not wolves but they're still social pack animals with strict rules and orders. Thus they do know if another one acts out they ignore or go advance to put them in place since from the puppyhood period. A mom/female would ignore an over excited puppy or put them down/bite the one acts out or correct the male if he goes more intense than needed. Same goes for the pack as well from my experience. So for training purpose, sure a trained dog is a big help but a specifically trained dog is not a must since they already know it when they're balanced.
@@kimlend7680 yes I completely agree with you the reason why i said “ specifically trained “ is because i couldn’t remember the right term since English is not my first language, but thank you for fully explaining what I meant. And again I completely agree with everything you said

Excellent video. I had a very muscular large black and brown Doberman named Turbo. It’s interesting to see this behavior from other dogs. Turbo did this same behavior, I never once saw another dog not back down. He also had a sense of humor, he would wait till people walked close to the truck bed looking all friendly, then give a single large bark and scare the pants off of them. I miss that dog
I think canine body language is beautiful! Not when they actually bite, but all the subtle communication that prevents the bite. Especially when watching the graceful Dobermans.
I just stumbled across this channel and this is the compilation I was looking for! Coincidentally just uploaded!👍🏼This video needs to go viral! These dogs have a tremendous amount of "feel", self awareness, confidence, and are very forgiving. I've yet to see them "overkill" in setting boundries with other dogs! They've got pressure, response, release, down to an abosolute T!
I have no clue how this showed up on my watchlist either, but I agree, it's gold. Maybe cause I'm getting a new puppy in a month. Probably the most amazing, and beautiful dogs Ive ever seen.
I have a highly socialized Frenchie who sometimes gets overstimulated and does a similar behaviors as the Frenchie in your video. I'm always asking bigger dog owners if they have a dog trained well enough to put mine in her place. I know it's something she needs to learn how to better be with other dogs but not all dogs are a Bosco or Prince. Your dogs are so amazing. It's truly a testament to your training as well as the Doberman breed. They're such lovely animals.
Your body language vids have helped me train/socialize my 16-month-old street-rescue rednose to where neighborhood moms let their toddlers and little dogs play with him!! Completely changed our lives for the better. You are such a blessing🐾❤️🙏🏽
Boscoe seems to have a good Dobie mentality. He knows the dogs are not a real threat to him so he can be tough without being physical most times. That last clip he does the "dad" look and the other dog realizes he/she is in over their head and backs down and he doesnt push any further cause he knows he doesnt HAVE to. Great video sir.
I love your body language explanations!!! When the lil white dog did a lip lick at 3:47 it's STUNNING that Bosco still knew there was a good chance more correction would be needed. Amazing Bosco did the playbow to test the lil white dog. Wow!!! Prince tryna be tolerant soooo adorable🐾❤️
Truly top notch content. Such obedient, firm but fair disciplined dogs that show their thankfulness to you through this much needed work . Salute sir !
The emphasis on their body language is incredible to watch, it *is* how dogs communicate and it makes so much sense that its so effective. I really love watching prince and Bosco. Watching you work *with* them to teach others. Its brilliant.
Spectacular! The way Bosco turned to meet the poodle again fooled me and I realized he knew what direction the poodle was likely to go. Amazing training!
Thank you so much for slowing these clips down and talking us through what is happening so we can see it ourselves. This is a great compilation and I want a lot more of these. Maybe using clips to show us fear vs aggression, or the exact time to apply a correction so it’s most effective, or how to teach a prey drive dog that the new cat in the house isn’t a chew toy.🙏💕
He's done video's on how to apply corrections to be most affective. About a year or more ago he walked a dog around the block that kept pulling. I'm gonna guess if t was a German Shepard
Watching Bosco and Prince work is always so amazing. Thank you for helping these families with their beloved dogs. Being able to to confidently take your pets and family anywhere makes the best life for the whole family.
I love them both. I love Bosco's confidence but Prince has even more patience and i feel even more for him. He tried to let know the guy nicely by avoiding his undesired attentions, then he incresed and then GOT serious, Bosco was really Amazing but Prince teached this Little guy (the french bulldog) even more, all the steps. After Prince got mad at him now he knows he has to not take advantage and pay attention to every step, also to more subtile gentle messages like avoidance for example so next time he'll know when to stop before he goes to the next level and gets bitten. I'm in love with Bosco but it doesn't matter if Prince is shy, that's also masterclass, great job. Gorgeous sweet boy❤ This is real training and you really trust that sweet boy
When your dog is confident and well behaved around other dogs it is the best feeling ever. Give them some good training and socialising and well my dog has taught me a few things over the years about staying calm and diffusing a situation lol.
I am so impressed with Bosco and Prince .. they understand the assignment and you can see how they analyse the situation and know how to deal with it .. absolutely amazing 🤩
That whole part around 4:00 was amazing. The way he slowly moved on him sideways so most of his vision was Bosco. Then used a steady confident but intimidating stature to invade closer until he backed off. I've never seen a dog do that without a little fight after. That's a good dog right there
First time I've seen your videos, my red dobie is coming up on 9 years old and shes taught a lot of unsocialized dogs at the park to relax and have fun. The breed is just so smart at understanding human and dog body language. I wish they could live forever.
Hi Joel, i discovered your channel a week ago and i've started training the 4-years old male (sterelized) Cane Corso of my parents, and i can tell you its been amazing ! He is fine with humans when they don't jumpscare me or them, but he was going crazy with other dogs, like barking, pulling the leash super hard and doing plaything behavior (like bowing down) and it was super hard to take him for a walk. After only some hours of positive training (treats and correction) he stopped pulling the leash (he didn't stop barking but he growls instead, not showing teeth tho), and after a week he now doesn't care about other dogs (even if he looks at them still). Thank you a lot, your techniques are doing wonderful !
I'm no professional trainer, I've just noticed from my experience helping with rowdy dogs. Having a confident dog, like your two phenomenal examples here, goes farther than any "corrective" action us humans can do. My lab hasn't ever "fought" but has absolutely stood his own, and usually had a situation handled before I could even intervene. Its even surprised the owners of some of these more rowdy animals when they are just calm after some time, big chilling with the Goofers (my labs name). Which isn't always the case according to them. My 7 year lab does a few of the things you showed today when there is a rowdy dog around him, and I didn't even realize it until watching this breakdown, and I just find it so cool. I didn't train him up really, he does know how to sit, respects doorway boundaries (wont step outside unless invited), and has never destroyed even a toy, hes extremely gentle. But otherwise I just treated my dude with respect, hes a begging ass fool tho lol, and he just goes where I go as much as possible, but doesn't whine or cry when I'm gone, he does his own thing. From my cameras, he has his little routines while I'm gone, which I find adorable honestly.
Very impressive training and results, well done - truly inspiring. I have a lab and he loves everyone but simply runs away when chased by agressive dogs (mostly Shiba Inus, interestingly). Not that we ld want him to fight, but Bosco and Prince knows how to deal with those hah. Thanks for sharing.
It's actually not. It's becoming harder and harder to come by mentally stable dobermanns. At least here in Europe. Many of them are nervous wreckes and need an experienced handler. I blame the show breeders. They don't care so much for psyche and functionality as they do looks😕 I've spoken to some experienced dog trainers who stay away from dobermanns because of this and opt for rottweilers or beauceron instead if they want a taller/bigger dog. So if you go for the dobermann, make sure to research your choice of breeders. Having a 90 pound dog that goes after skateboarders or wet itself in the hallway every time the door bell rings is no fun.
Must know exactly what you are doing with Dobermans or other dogs of similiar strength, because you definately don't want them to turn bad - it could be the end of someone or someones dog.
My first time returning to this channel in 8 months. I remember this channel being at 20k subscribers only a year ago, seems like hard work and dedication payed off. This is the real world and you're showing them it, there is no such thing as 'i'll just train my dog to listen to me and always be positive to him even tough he's agressive to other dogs'. I'm glad people Explored this channel finally instead of watching all of these fake videos. Thanks Joel for doing this and i'm glad this channel has grown so much over the past year!
I remember one point when I was outside with my collie and a small Maltese looking dog came along and his owners weren’t far behind him.My collie was a very intelligent and tolerant dog.
@@MireVale It's almost like they can say whatever the fuck they want because who are you?

You really need to work on learning context and reading comprehension.

@@monicafarlow8227 yep my dog was to blame, the other one gave him notice, and me and the other owner pulled them away. It wasn't a big deal, and since he was uninjured I was glad my dog got a lesson.

I kind of feel like you made the assumption that they were blaming the other dog simply by stating the incident in a neutral way. I understand it's a rarity to see people admit when they, or their own, are in the wrong these days.
I think lecturing them on it all is a bit much, though. It sounds like they can assess a situation fairly and do what is necessary.
The "but your dog did..." at the beginning is a dispute of something they didn't say to begin with, and that's kind of what gave your comment the vibe of correcting the other commenter's take. Just throwing that out there. Like the dogs in this video have their subtleties in body language and vocalization, so too we humans have our subtleties in context. :)

Absolutely Love how you've trained your dogs...They are confident, calm and and have their own personalities.
you dont need to train your dogs for this, i mean one can say u need to i find it bullshit.
i took my pup at ~10 weeks old to a field where tons of dogs play, sniff etc w/e dogs do.
Belive it or not dogs like Bosco and prince are considered what’s called a “dog teacher” basically a dog teacher is a dog who is specifically trained to direct teach and discipline other dogs and they are usually companions to dog trainers (such as myself) I myself have a dog teacher who does the same type of learning like bosco and prince
Im glad to see more dog teachers like them because it will be easier to train other dogs who really need help
Carry on ur doing amazing
Lots of love and support from me andy dog teacher Zeus

Really impressive how complex the communication is. Wonderful breakdown.
Wow! This was BEAUTIFUL to watch. Your dogs are clearly very well trained and confident. Superb job 👏🏼
Wow, this gave me cold chills , your dogs were absolutely amazing.
The Doberman’s temperament seems to be really good most of the time. Makes me want one even more
It's actually not.
They are amazing when they have a strong owner who is comfortable around confident dogs.
I wouldn't recommend them unless you can impose yourself on them, because they are erratic especially if untrained
Must know exactly what you are doing with Dobermans or other dogs of similiar strength, because you definately don't want them to turn bad - it could be the end of someone or someones dog.
Beautiful! I love this
My first time returning to this channel in 8 months.
“He’s also got to show that he’s the boss.”
Literally pisses on the pot plant lmaoo
I can't state in how awesome you are just by watching the training of your dogs. This is probably some of the best training I've seen
WOW... The use of your dog's to teach the other dogs how to behave is amazing... Well Done Sir, I'm truly impressed!
This is impressive for both your dogs and you being able to train them so well.
wow holy crap ur dogs show so much more intelligence, social skills and higher EQ than even some humans i've seen, well done!
Honestly incredible! All dog owners should watch your channel to learn canine communication and body language that go hand in hand with your training!
I remember one point when I was outside with my collie and a small Maltese looking dog came along and his owners weren’t far behind him.My collie was a very intelligent and tolerant dog. Maltese did exactly what that little dog in the last part of the video did. My collie was very confident and put on a little staring contest to smooth things out and eventually the little dog was caught by its owners. I really miss her and how she interacted with everything and everyone. Prince reminds me of her each time I watch your videos.
Easily the best video I've seen recently. I bow to your mastery of training
It really helps that he’s is complete control of his body. Like he’s so fast and nimble that he knows he can dodge any attack.
