- From afar, the suburban lifestyle may appear as a sort of utopia; but be sure to gaze beyond the veil, for dire horrors and troubled intimacies will arise in the most unpleasant of forms.
This is the latest short film by Writer/Director Jack Hill;
and was made as part of college coursework.

i dig the concept
it's a bit like hitchkock's "rear window" but from another side
would be even better in my opinion if all the shots were through the windows

I'm a film student myself and I am astonished at how incredible this short experimental film is. The entire concept along with the variation of shots and exceptional editing is phenomenal. I would go as far as to say this is a cinematic masterpiece. Amazing work Jack!
Very well shot and edited short. I especially like the mid shots of people and the black and white theme throughout.

Third time watching it...
This was so eerie and freaky, but the way it was orchestrated, the music, the pictures, no words... That made this piece absolutely beautiful.
But SCARY, DAMN.
The mini stories within this whole piece, W-O-W-I-E.
The woman washing the dishes, then doing the laundry and then the father doing... Something?
That guy in the window, constantly dancing and singing, shirtless; what a MOOD. 😂
For me... It all seemed to go by in a blur, like nothing mattered in a way, like they were alive but they weren’t really living?
The couple (?) fighting and arguing for some of the piece and then suddenly making up and just cuddling on the sofa? Oof.
The guy took a gun and shot himself... But didn’t shoot himself? 😂 Tad bit afraid.
That creepy smile at the end chilled me to the core.
The dog was by far my favourite character. Bless their soul. 😍
