Punk rock, skating, hip-hop and saying “fuck the elite” will always be one and the same!!!! Skateboarding gives people freedom, and badassery that can only be reflected by a punk rocker or a hip-hopper. I’m so glad the hip-hoppers caught on in the late 90’s.

He knew they were expensive, if you notice that moment when she gives him the price at 8:07, the director cut the scene and changed the camera angle and showed a different clip of his reaction. This is done in film and basically shows that they redid that shot multiple times to get the exact reaction they wanted. :) They don't typically have two camera guys right next to each-other taking two slightly different angles. She started to tell him the price and then they shift the angle of his response, it is obvious that he actually knew how much they were and was just trying to act surprised. :) Take another look, notice the angle change, multiple takes done to get that desired shot. :)

There’s absolutely no way, unless this was perfectly scripted, that they pulled off this many angles with one camera during the interview process. It’s not that expensive to hire two shooters especially if they already work at complex.
From a lot of people that goes for Sneaker Shopping with Complex, Tony is the one who elaborate so much knowledge about sneakers, putting other celebrities in this show to shame. Why ? Because celebrities only go for looks. Tony can explain the shit out of every shoes in that store. Plus, no other celebrities can say "oh, that they [manufacturer] design this because I need ankle support".
Not that rare, those Cement 4s can be found for $350, the black pigeons about the same (anywhere from $200 to $350), the Blazers around $200 (probably the only competitively priced shoe here), the Lance Mountains average around 400, and the ASSC Vans go for around $350... he over payed.

Stadium goods store is just a front. For sure they sell the same shoes at lower price on stock x. Also they have retail priced general realease shoes mixed in the displays with rare priced ones in the store. The rare overpriced ones are just there to attract people! If a kid comes into the store with parents, they would see the huge price differences between the GR and rare pairs. They would snap up the GR in an instant coz it automatically looks like great value. $150-250 for a shoe becomes cheap when sitting next to a similar shoe that is $900.

This is done in film and basically shows that they redid that shot multiple times to get the exact reaction they wanted. :) They don't typically have two camera guys right next to each-other taking two slightly different angles. She started to tell him the price and then they shift the angle of his response, it is obvious that he actually knew how much they were and was just trying to act surprised. :) Take another look, notice the angle change, multiple takes done to get that desired shot. :)

Also they have retail priced general realease shoes mixed in the displays with rare priced ones in the store. The rare overpriced ones are just there to attract people! If a kid comes into the store with parents, they would see the huge price differences between the GR and rare pairs. They would snap up the GR in an instant coz it automatically looks like great value. $150-250 for a shoe becomes cheap when sitting next to a similar shoe that is $900.
