You have been smashing them on Artic spinner all season. I gave it a try back in late Sept. with no luck. But I was able to get a couple on beads. Great video. Thanks.
Dude you have a doppelgänger back home lol I was picking up an order from chik fil a yesterday and thought it was you. Thought to myself no way is Fray in Painesville ?.. anyway took me a second to realize it wasn't you and remembered you lived out on the west side when you aren't in Michigan! Nice fish and always enjoy your videos !
My 2 favorite ways to fish salmon is bobber fishing and twitching jigs thimg are a little different over here on the west coast but i have to say your videos are a large part of the reason i started cenerpin fishing almodt 3 yeats ago now
looking forward to that raft review! great vid! nice to still see so many fresh kings push up when most fisherman go out to hunt. let them spawn keep our numbers rising. that and dnr upping stocking few years it'll be really really good!
Fray: Goes fishing for great lakes kings and catches giants consistently. Me: goes fishing for 12 hours and only ends up foul hooking a little pink salmon
So nice to have a watercraft to float down from pool to pool where it might not be accessible to other shore anglers. Those fish probably haven’t seen bait in that stretch of water. Putting your hands in their mouth to retrieve hooks it’s a scary experiment especially if they start moving. Glad to see a successful day on the water and wishing you continued success going into the steelhead season.
I haven't tried, but in this video ua-cam.com/video/na7rJ5Y8Gjk/v-deo.html the guy whp was sharing the hole with us was getting them on steelhead skein
Got my first female king on spawn, 12lbs blood run leader, 15lbs blood run mainline, #2 skeena hook, 15g float, skein cane, shot pattern, pink mesh spawn bag from backcast bait shop. stuff works!! female had eggs coming out so I let her go.
Till right about now, mid-october. That being said, I had a few nice bobber downs this morning. It depends strongly on what rivers you fish. We are at the point where there are far more fish spawning on gravel than in the holes, and less every day
Awesome job guys. What kind of camera do you use for the bobber downs? I’m looking for one to shoot videos that of my post catches that are not on the go pro?
Great content bro, I was listening with headphones and could hardly hear the audio bro might need to make it louder. Just wanted to give you a FYI that’s all!
@@FishFray definitely, just couldn’t believe how willing he was to walk on a redd right in front of us and snag a fish. Split shot to treble hook and all
Yep it's crazy. Some are shy and will stop what they are doing if they hear a twig crack. Others will ask you to net a belly hooked gravel fish for them then put it on a stringer in front of you 🤣
@@FishFray man I wish I could post a video comment so you could see the fish this one guy a bend up from the snaggers had on his stringer… at least 3 had been dead for 1-2 days I’m sure you’ve seen it too 😭
Michiagan Salmon are unique they are VERY aggressive and also have have very sharp teeth. Here in Ontario Canada you can just pop the hook out like a bass sometimes. Also they are definitely not as aggressive and we land way more. But I think this is the reason as we have alot of creeks and they dont fight the same in creeks than they do in rivers. Trying to get into steelhead fishing but dont have the proper gear. You should do a giveaway for a couple floats, hooks, cure etc!
I love the walking missions on public waters, it is way more relatable but I don’t mind some raft content occasionally
I try to show a variety of realistic experiences! Thanks!
They're a blast! Got my first one floating skein on my centerpin yesterday
Awesome! glad to hear that
Awesome job fray loving the frequency of these videos keep up the good work man! its not easy.
It is hard work but it helps when the fishing is this good!
That fish at 6:35 in, had to have almost pooped that skein out lol
Lol
Cool video. We've been tearing "em up on spinners on the PM outside Baldwin and it's been a blast. Brown trout and Steelhead next!
Awesome!
Thanks for showing that you can get bit even in high pressure areas but definitely a raft is a advantage.
Thats my goal!

Nice! Some days they are on the spinner some days they arent!
Landed my first bobber down salmon on spawn sacs today partly in thanks to ur tips thanks fray 🤟tight lines brotha
Awesome to hear that, nice work!
I've been in mishicot the lost week and only have gotten 3. I wish I had you as a guide in your waters. It would be worth the money

I'm a raft guy!! I love seeing the small rafts and creeks
Its a ton of fun!

We have a lot to look forward to, I think
Thanks and enjoyed the video
Awesome footage, great fights, I'd be jumpin' like that too if my eye was hangin' out my skull...
Ok that thumbnail fish is really spooky 😟🫣

Hey i've never caught a pink salmon so you've got me there!
You are the man and chiefs fishing
Awesome video wish I could get out and fish work has been crazy
Love the vid man👍🏻🎣

Have you caught salmon using steelhead roe?

Awesome, well done !
how deep do you set the skein? is it on the bottom?
I like to run it at least a foot above the bottom
would you recommend single or trebles for the spinners?
I like the stock trebles because they will bend out of snags but hold up to fish. I don't think I could replicate that with any single hook
Typically how late into October do you catch kings on skein in Michigan?
Till right about now, mid-october. That being said, I had a few nice bobber downs this morning. It depends strongly on what rivers you fish. We are at the point where there are far more fish spawning on gravel than in the holes, and less every day
Hey fish fray!! What kinda center pin reel you have? Is it a colville?
yes, this is a Colville trinity reel
Love from the NW OREGON
Great video as always ❤
Awesome job guys. What kind of camera do you use for the bobber downs? I’m looking for one to shoot videos that of my post catches that are not on the go pro?
Sony a6300 with the two standard kit lenses that come with it, solid camera for the price in my opinion
@@FishFray thank you sir

Thanks bro, it sounds fine for me but I have had a couple others say that too. Thanks for the heads up !
That thumbnail got me 💀 😂😂😂
unique one for sure
I'm sitting here in Oregon with no water in any of our streams all the salmon are stuck in the estuary 😭😭😭😭 DROUGHTS SUCK
Bummer! hope you get some rain soon
Amazing!!
dealt with my first blatant snaggers on a well known river the other day, extremely sad to see
Bummer! That's a part of the salmon run experience..
