Really enjoyed that Donny, especially as just (2nd half of May) walked the whole west Coast of Jura in 8 days ( including 1 rest day ). Started at Feolin, right to the top end and then down to Ardlussa. Played "rock" bowls on the beach at Shian Bay & Cruib. I put the large crate on the wooden bench at Ruantalla, as a back rest - good to see it's still there ! ( at 15.00 ) Surprised not to see any adders this time. Did see Sea Eagles though, and Short- eared plus Barn Owls. Like you said - lovely wilderness part of Scotland . Great drone footage. Many thanks.
That must have been a hard but enjoyable walk silentrabbit. I occasionally see others walking along that coast but donr envey them. I do walk part ..mostly where the atv tracks are ..but walking on the stones of raised beaches kills my feet :-D
@@donnywilcox Was a great adventure, didn't have to walk on many raised beaches. Need to pick / find the right routes - learn from the deer & wild goats (tracks) and experience. Lovely wild camping spots and views - a very special place. The rib looks like a pleasant way to see these places. All best.
I've just found this channel and subscribed. I look forward to working my way through your videos. I'm a new sib owner with just a 3.2meter 6hp package. I just completed my first 'epic' 15 mile round trip in flat calm to Eilean Mor (drone footage will go up on YT soon).......but I think I'm hooked. I'll have to wait until my next Scottish holiday for my next voyage.
Hi Donny great video. I never would have expected an Adder climbing into a beached boat. Next time I’m out and about I’ll be checking inside the kayak and keeping the tent zipped up. Lobster looked delicious.
I have no idea how it got into the boat paul..I suspect I carried it in though..perhaps slithered into one of my bags at the tent..then I put the bag into the boat..so it could have been there a while.. but only guessing ?
It must have been terrified as they are averse to salt water.. but I guess they got onto island via boats, or did they evolve there after land separating?
Excellent as ever, Donny. Very entertaining story about the lobster, and by golly if I’d of discovered an adder I would have absolutely s@@t my self and been in that water quicker than an escaping fish! 🤣. Nice to see the Galaxy 300 too, that feels like a veritable mansion in the wilderness when i use mine!
Thanks for commenting on my videos Stuart and Im delighted you are enjoying them. To answer your questions ..the boat was on the shore so afloat at high tide but dried out at low tide. I doubt the adder would have managed up the smooth boat tubes to get into it. I suspect I unknowingly carried it aboard in some of my bags, Far more likely it slithered into any of my many bags in and around the tent, The Yellow buoy was on the kayak as my bro found it washed up on a shore and decided he wanted it so took it home :-D
Hello Donny, another exciting video with more good camping spots. Must admit I did feel a little sorry for the lobster, especially when you give him a name. It felt more like cooking a mate, lol. As for the snake I would have been off...Liked your anchoring system. Really enjoyed watching. Thanks Steve 👍
Just had an arduous 9 hour drive from Stranraer to Cleethorpes, after setting up my PC the first video in the queue was yours, that made up for the traffic jams, cant wait for part 4. Happy Boating.
How did you get the fuel if you did not remember your pin number? I bet you have it tattooed on your wrist now! Another excellent video. Thank you, David
Don't know why you had to whack the snake with an oar. Reminded me of the scene in 'Ring of Bright Water', when the man whacks the otter. Respect all life as we all have our place here.
Lol .. you dont mention eating the lobster ..presumably because you eat animals too.. yet complain about whacking the snake . .IMO your comment has no place here
Hi Scott .. not much more to add ..its a simple settup..you just need to watch the ropes dont twist as then you have to swim out to the boat. Its really only good on sheltered places too as like a chain..it breaks at the weakest point
Lucky not to get bitten, adders aren’t known for their tolerant behaviour at this time of year, can’t wait for the next instalment,, corryvreckan per chance,,, paddled it by kayak some years ago,
I did get bitten t1hocan ..ironix (see comment above) bit me 😀 but avoided the snake bites..it was taking its temper out on my fuel line ..it got a few bites :-0 My brother paddles through the corry too quite regular ..but it is timed for quiet times :-D
The adder is our only poisonous snake scott ..they are quite common..but you dont see them often as they are quite timid and prefer slithering away than staying to bite 😀
Another gud'n Donny, I felt sorry for the lobster 😂. 🦞. Blimey though..Good job that you spotted the Adder. You would have had a job finding someone to suck the poison out if it had got you 😉
i dont see what all the attraction is going abroad when you have all this great scenery on our doorstep great videos Donny
Yup..I agree archie..I have not gone abroad for quite a few years :-D

What lovely relaxing and scenic videos you make Donny. Was the rib off the shore when the snake slid in it?

This series should be compulsory viewing in schools, some kids don't see the world beyond a computer screen. Thanks again.
Hi Donny, could you do a in depth video of your running mooring pls, I need one ?
