springtrap, a GROWN MAN who has been dead for a LONG TIME further emphasizing his OLD AGE being jealous of Harry, a child who is Deliah's own age, made me INCREDIBLY uncomfortable as a kid on the internet. So glad someone is finally talking about this and realizing how weird the whole situation is.

The fact that Quinn was 16 at the time of drawing/role-playing that content, makes me deeply concerned that they may have been using it as a way to process some serious shit. Not to say that I agree with their behaviour *at all*, but I can’t help but worry…
@@WoodlandGloom Yeah, but coercing/pressuring others into participating in that fiction should be discouraged, imo. Particularly when someone showed clear discomfort with continuing. i used to be obsessed with undertale, so i used to watch sans comics tv or whatever its called. THE VA FOR SANS IS THE SAME THEY USE FOR SPRINGTRAP, AND THE VA FOR CHARA AND FRISK ARE THE SAME ONES THEY USED FOR DELIAH
I was always uncomfortable with how the author tried to make Springtrap, a literal child killer, friends with a child. Should have realized the red flags but still, did not expect it to go in this direction.
When I was younger , I always thought it was a little bit weird, particularly regarding the fact that I thought that Delilah’s dad was justified in being suspicious of him but I didn’t find it super terrible until Springtrap started having beef with Harry to a degree where he’s threatening a teenage boy for believing that Delilah deserves so much better . It turned me off of the series when I was little so I never knew that it had an ending or anything of the sort . It’s still weird and upsetting knowing what other intentions the creator had when it came to the series , especially with so many red flags in it to make me at grade school or early middle school age to not want to continue with the series
I genuinely do not understand how anyone was surprised by what came out about the author. All the wack shit is signposted with bright neon letters, people
You know, it’s funny how the official Fnaf movie did the “little girl befriends dead guy in an animatronic” WAY better. It probably helps that Abby befriends the dead kids who were unjustly killed and manipulated, so when they want to turn her into an animatronic, it comes off more as misguidance. It’s understandable from children, not the grown man who’s also a serial killer.
The only thing I could think of that would make this not disgusting is if all the characters were adults (excluding the dead children). Her dad could be replaced with a brother, and Deliah would be in her late-20s. It would've still been creepy and gross, but it would be slightly less creepy and gross.
My mom was saying that her theory was that the children had a bad case of dumb kid brain and went "if Abby is like us we'll be able to play together forever without ever having to go home or go to school" and didn't realize thag making her into an animatronic would involve killing her bc dumb kid brain doesn't process death real good it hust went "we're robots and we're alive it'll be fine" no freddy it won't be fine that kills people I don't doubt that william didn't have a hand in them reaching the "LETS SPRINGLOCK HER" conclusion because honestly they'd probably jump to "LET'S KEEP HER HERE WITH US" before that
@@diorande1165 Yeah, but it *is* the only way I can think of that would make it not as disgusting. Maybe make her a bit of a child-ish adult (not as dumb, though). The whole story is a mess, so my change alone wouldn’t fix it.

It's creepy how the fans of this comic idolized/glorified Springtrap and Delilah's relationship and called it as a Father-daughter dynamic when their relationship is creepy, obsessive, manipulative and toxic. Then they demonized characters who calls out this fact (Harry and Nick) when they have every right to point it out.
Well, thinking about it, when I found the dub, I was roughly 9-12 and I would assume a lot of other fans were as well. When you grow up on the internet, especially at a young age, you don't really think of these behaviours as off or weird especially if you grew up with it in your own household. I legit blocked this from my head for the longest time because I had a 1 week phase of finding this cool before getting weirded out. It’s like unlocking a core memory.
This isn't an idea from this comic, it's just an extension of Springtrap's backstory. The spirits chased him into the suit, we have no confirmation as to where they went from there so it's plausible that they stayed with him.

I’m gonna say it… The dynamic between Springtrap and Deliah has that same creepy vibe as Ralph and Venellope had in Ralph breaks the internet! This does explain why I felt uncomfortable with Ralph being clingy to Venellope in the second movie since in the first it gives off father daughter vibes while the second gives a creepy guy simping for his daughter’s friend vibe. I knew as a kid that there was a weird feeling by their dynamics as he kept guilt tripping Deliah and manipulating her innocence! And I felt so bad for her as Springtrap threatens her and tries to take her away from Nick to keep all to himself!
Gosh, I didn't wanna think about it, but I had the same bad vibes from the sequel... Like, it was really uncomfortable because I felt like they actually wanted to make a love story between the characters and not a friendship. And it felt even worse since Vanelope looks like a child...

Now that I watched this video I understand how disgusting the whole comic and the creator's intentions actually were.. Thank you for clearing things out. Your videos are great, keep it up
I always got iffy vibes from this comic, especially since it seems to romanticize manipulation. Makes me wonder what happened in the creator’s personal life, especially since they created this comic when they were a teenager. Absolutely disgusting, thanks for making such a detailed summary of everything
It makes me wonder their homelife too. They seem to romanticize this emotional abuse and manipulation which is something I did as a teen actually. In my rps my character was always the victim that needed to be saved when I was 16…I learned at 20 in therapy that it wasn’t normal. It was shown as normal in media like Pretty Little Liars. I also was with someone who was a year younger than me and emotionally took advantage of me being on the spectrum and being super empathetic. They always had manic episodes like Springtrap where if I was away I was wrong and yelled at and threw lovebombed after I cried. There was just so much unhealthy in that relationship Ali my with my family…sometimes these things seem normal. I really hope Quinn has gotten therapy with their time off the internet. It is disgusting and I won’t justify what they did. I believe anyone can change, especially now that they’re an adult and can reflect on what they roleplayed and viewed back then.
I agree with the both of you. I sincerely hope that Quinn has changed for the better, and that they remain off of the internet. This whole situation is so disgusting, yet depressing at the same time. I truly wonder what happened to them in their childhood to make them believe that this kind of behavior was okay… I feel awful for everyone involved, especially the people that Quinn has personally affected.
Makes me wonder if she might've been in/had a problematic relationship like that at the time and was manipulated into thinking that kind of stuff was normal Not saying it excuses it, but I’d rather believe that she was simply misguided and realized as she grew older than that she just fully endorses that type of behavior
to be fair. when i first read this comic i thought it was normal. because this is how my parents behaved as well (not to the sane extend because as far as im aware they aren't child murderers) but hot dang. revisitng this after having been in therapy is a SHOCK. i hope the creator can learn to relaise this and work on themselves
I just find it funny that Harry and his family are extremely chill about this "yeah we have a dead man in a rabbit suit who killed 6 children and might kill again. What about it?"
I feel like this comic dub would’ve acted way better as a comedy comic. They could have like a child and Springtrap hang out, but like, Springtrap is just plotting to attack the entire time. But whenever he does attack, a wild inconvenience happens and prevents him from actually injuring the kid (who is somehow convinced that they’re best friends in a NON-weird way, as in like a imaginary friends way). No weird child, adult relationship included and it’s actually somewhat in character for Springtrap
I just didn’t know because 1 - I was young, and 2 - I was undiagnosed (autistic) back then, and apparently as of this year I found out that manipulation runs in the family. It’s time to break this generational curse.
If anyone is confused I’m talking about mainly the adults at the time I can understand children not noticing the undertones but it’d be pretty clear as an adult
@@RandomShortGuy528I was 18 when I read it so technically an adult and, while I picked up on the red flags, I assumed it was intentionally unhealthy and that part of his redemption arc would be learning how to be alone. The light ending at that time felt a little underwhelming, but I chalked it up to the writer being young (and at the time they were apparently 16.) I don’t think having terrible person as your protagonist is necessarily awful, and I felt like he was treated as unreliable, but I guess a lot of kids that read it weren’t thinking about those aspects. It’s kind of underanalyzing vs. overanalyzing the comic.
I came across this when I was 12 and I had no idea it was this horrible when I read it, only getting a weird vibe from it. Im 17 now, and oh my god. Im horrified.
Its so unnerving how much springtrap and deliah reads as a story about grooming, especially with her father not trusting him, god i hate it. Its so mind boggling how a story about children facing horrific trauma attracts so many creeps Also, lighter note, holy shit you unlocked a memory with out with the old
Even if the author apparently did some no good stuff at the idea of warping the story, I’d like to still think of the story itself about a mentally unwell albeit bad person trying to be a good father figure when he really doesn’t deserve a second chance. The story has always been interesting to me as a kid that despite knowing his awful deeds he’s really trying (and sorta failing) which makes him easier to root for then a knowingly manipulative and intentionally evil person.

it's gross but expectable, alot of fictional characters (especially villains or antagonists) garner a fanbase who tries to validify or excuse their actions it's not actively hurting anyone but at the same time it's not something that should be normalized, the creator could have easily made springtrap's actions a genuine mistake in the universe it takes place in instead of having the same incident but trying to put him in a good light
a 16 year old writing something like that, when at that age, she should've been mature enough to acknowledge that what she was writing was bad, is still REALLY wrong

When I was a kid I always interpreted it as Springtrao trying to replace Delilah's dad as being her own father figure. Looking back; it defintily gives off a few weird vibes 🙁😞
this idea of Springtrap befriending a child while being haunted by his victims would be a lot more interesting if it was, well, Spring Bonnie. just say William stopped possessing the suit when his body was removed, but the spirits don't know that. dude's being blamed for the murders when William was the one wearing him (granted this'd have to be done really carefully)
It'd likely help if say, the springbonnie animatronic is found after the body is removed. Upgraded and given the same software sort of, as the glamrocks. This way the sentience makes sense. As older animatronic types from the 90s in reality don't have sentience (unless theoretically possessed but even then) Enabling the animatronic to experience more. So maybe there was basic sentience. But then the upgrades gave him/her *depending on how you see springbonnie), the upgrades, enables emotion, empathy, sympathy, apathy, deeper thought. Which can make a compelling character learning to build their own path but struggling to escape the past and struggling to deal with the consequences caused by someone else, now pushed onto them. Could really truly be interesting if done in a specific way
Quiet Tomato’s Springtrap and Mangle did something like this, kinda. Afton still possesses Spring Bonnie but only at night because his soul is too powerful to resist compared to the children.
there are fanfics kinda like this, im assuming a lot of people who grew up and realized springtrap and deliah was gross are semi-remaking it now without the weird junk
What sucks is that the concept of Springtrap being best friends with a kid could've been played for laughs and made into a twisted black comedy along the lines of The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy if it could show actual murder. There's potential for something great here, but it was taken down a road that's creepy instead of silly.
Me: Hey Disney XD I have a concept for Mariposa Harbor and for the story writers of the Owl House Madeleine Hernandez and Manuel Nieto Jr. A cursed pirate, a half demon and a ghost are being friends with a young woman. It's horror comedy with nautical fantasy and a 1890s style magical realism side
Im still wondering how this was supposed to be a rootable character. Dudes literally a child murderer who has a way creepy abusive relationship with a child.
this reminds of that time so many fnaf fans were surprised of how awful of a person william is in dittophobia like they just forgot he was responsible for offing 5 kids + is coworker's daughter and made animatronics that lured capture and killed kids in sl
@@discmanthecdlord which never fails to amaze me because he is literally the reason why the whole franchise (in universe) started the kids didn't drop dead and stuff themselves into the suit. I think it's difficult for most people to understand why someone would kidnap and kill that many kids if they weren't... In the past I used to have a theory that the Toy animatronics' facial recognition didn't work on William because he specifically wasn't on a s3x offender list, I think Phone Guy mentioned something about the database they used consisting of predators?
Real life child murderers where pedos, and a story with Afton as a pedo could work it’s just the writers seem to be using it as ship bait instead of playing it for the horror that it is
@@BlueSkyBirdieswell No I think that was the canon reasoning. William wasn't on any criminal database so they could look straight at him and would deem him as safe. Obviously Henry thought that whoever killed his daughter had to have been on a registry somehow, like the way it happened would give massive "not their first time" vibes and most of the time, the person who did it is on a registry. So like. Yk. Install them to prevent any future incidents but didn't work because william isn't on one. Honestly the toy animatronics are really fucking dark when you separate them from the current lore and look at them alone.
Since most child killers are p-words, I assume that's why so many stories where he's a p-word exist. It's very rare for a child killer to NOT be doing it for those reasons honestly. Back when he was just purple guy there wasn't much to go off of because he was a nothingburger. Obviously now we know that he did it for the thrill / feeling powerful (in the movies) and to create a twisted fucked up family (in the books) but back then he was kind of a "it can be anyone" type thing. As in he seemed like a character that would represent something so horrible but be kept so bland that you can't tell why they do what they do or how they became the kind of person to do that. Which tbh is a cool concept. But it isn't the canon.
I have never seen this comic before, and yet while listening to you talking about the plot I felt it was so familiar. It was almost like I myself had been writing something similar... And I was surprised to realize that I did! When I was a teenager, I also wrote a story about unhinged murderous robot living with the sweet innocent girl (she was an adult), and the robot was constantly manipulating and harassing her, hurting her friends, eventually coming down to decide to kill her. It was also done as a result of some kind of obsessive feelings (of course I freaking shipped them). The girl escaped btw. But I know for a fact that I was NEVER abused or assaulted in any way. This was just the relationship I was interested in. So I wonder: is it some kind of phase that many people go through, not just the author of this comic? I think we should not give it as much significance or malice as we seem to be.
44:23 victims of grooming and s/a will often roleplay/write/etc. things like this to try to cope. You can totally tell it was written by a kid from how jarringly chill every single character still is with Springtrap. Even if Springtrap wasn't a possessed animatronic or a murderer and was just some random grown-ass man, the reactions from pretty much every character would STILL be too subdued to be realistic. Nick's attitude of "it's not right but I don't wanna get involved because it makes my daughter happy" reeks of wishful thinking on the part of a teenager who has an adult friend (speaking from experience). Any real life parent would nip that shit in the bud, knowing that even though they'll be upset and hate you for it in the moment, you're saving them from a much worse fate later down the line. That having been said though, the other aforementioned elements of Springtrap just push the reactions into absolutely hilarious territory. "I'm the soul and rotted corpse of a man who gruesomely murdered 6 kids." "Oh. Okay, cool. Keep hanging out with that 14 year old, I guess." 💀

i also do like that concept, springtrap goes well with it, and i also like the idea of him attempting to be a father, and yes the manipulation is bad, and i believe thats in character. i understand why people are angry but they need to understand its a different version of william.
@@knoxthecat8051 Honestly, I have seen the criticism of his character, but it's rarely about the fact that he is still very flawed, and more that it's framed as if he's done nothing wrong. It's even worse when it's paired with a creator who probably believes he isn't doing anything wrong.
I feel like there should be at least 5 more red flags just from the hand placement used by springtrap at some points. They just feel so inappropriate. Also, 'darling' just so gross. This was an amazing video. Keep up the good work!!

im glad that you actually brought up the fact that being into this sort of content is actually a result of trauma from grooming and/or sexual assault, since thats smt people really often overlook and ignore and imo it sometimes borders the line of being lowkey victim shaming. im gonna be honest, i cant be too upset at a child dealing with their trauma in that sort of way, especially since its in private. the manipulation and how they treated their friends is the real problem here I'd say, especially since they're denounced the ship and their previous interest in it and i choose to believe them rather than assume deceit. i hope they're doing better now and have found healthier and better ways to cope with their trauma.

With all due respect, FNAF is a franchise about murdering children so its not exactly ideal for anyone to base any of their real life situations on it maybe adding a disclaimer would help but I doubt it. The Internet is not a nice place at all. @@spoon7053
I was 14 when I first listened to the UA-cam dub version. Looking back, I was a bit dumb for being on Springtraps side or liking the comic. The daddy issues hit hard. Justice for Nick
my headcanon for this comic was that Afton and the "spirit" of spring bonnie were in constant battle for control. By spirit of spring bonnie I don't mean a dead child but more a vague idea of the suit being alive in a "Toy Story" sense. So the suit is good and friendly but has had its soul and body invaded by its very own creator, the child murderer William Afton, but there isn't really enough room so the two spirits start unknowingly fusing together which is the only way I could make sense or excuse the idea of William Afton wanting to change or be a good guy, as he is experiencing a kind of unwilling fusion with the spirit of a happy rabbit robot that just wants to be a friend to children.
first of all, He would never be like this. The real William Afton if his actions was the same in the fnaf trilogy he would have to reject god and he would have been given over to a debased mind and enjoy sin happily. think about his character from the vhs tapes like the scrimpus mcgrimpus and the battington tapes.
It appears to me that the author was most likely projecting their trauma into this story. Roleplaying Nick telling Deliah how awful Springtrap is sounds like something they wished was told to them.
@@stitchgor3 Then I guess there's some concerns to be be raised. But it could also be another trauma response of putting herself in the assailant's shoes to get a sort of "revenge".
Reasons why Scott quit: -People making cringy ahh ships of his characters -The NSFW art of his character that if the satan himself saw them he'll stop sinning -*And this*
I still remember reading the comic and got to the part where the kid and Springtrap had their confrontation in his bedroom before he leaves a long time ago, but never truly finishing it due to losing interest in FNAF fan stuff at that time, but never knew that they've done that stuff behind the scenes before their eventual (and honestly the best thing for one to do) departure from the internet as well as not completely finishing the comic out of respect to those who deemed it as a bad idea for obvious reasons. I hope the creator is getting better and is using their creative skills for good instead of using it to create very bad art that should never be made in the first place as well as the victims being able to live without fearing the person in question too
While the comic is most likely written before William Afton's name and family was a thing, they could improve on Springtrap and Deliah's relationship. Like if the author wasn't a creep and probably tried to update the story based on current FNAF lore, Springtrap's relationship with Deliah could be him trying to replicate the family he lost. Maybe because Deliah reminds him of the Bite victim or Elizabeth Afton? But no. We just have a child predator for Springtrap.
(Edir: Aight, so this is kinda semi-confirmed that he wants a family, but I think retconning Afton as having a previous family would at least be plausible.)
Yeah when I first read the comic I thought the line about not liking teenagers was a reference to Mike killing CC. Also if I had a nickel for every popular version of springtrap that ended up being a pedo I would have two nickels which isn’t a lot but it’s wierd that it happened twice.
okay, that is a fucking great idea. people make a lot of Springtrap and Deliah AUs especially after GranWolf got exposed they make it more friendlier, maybe this could be an AU for the comic as well (I would do it tbh)
About The Predator Part, I Guess That The Adoption Centre Was Right, They Really Was Like: “You Can’t have children, you look like a Creep, You Look Like You Touch Children”💀
Oh I remember this one. I was reading a translation of the comic on Wattpad and honestly, the toxicity got so clear and annoying that I started making memes and jokes just to counter the amount of people creepily shipping Springtrap *with* Deliah and the strong idiocy of the characters. There I created this parody where Springtrap just acts like a non-overprotective mother and that classic sitcom's wife arguing with her husband but not in an exaggerated or toxic way: "The Adventure of Nick and Springwife!" (That I've recently published as an actual parody), where the two parents deals with Deliah growing up.

It was cute and we didn't see it as bad because funny bunny man and relatable girl have fun adventures with angst!
to be fair, a lot of people in the fnaf fandom were younger kids. they probably didn’t know the true nature of the comic when they were younger
Also, lighter note, holy shit you unlocked a memory with out with the old
Even if the author apparently did some no good stuff at the idea of warping the story, I’d like to still think of the story itself about a mentally unwell albeit bad person trying to be a good father figure when he really doesn’t deserve a second chance. The story has always been interesting to me as a kid that despite knowing his awful deeds he’s really trying (and sorta failing) which makes him easier to root for then a knowingly manipulative and intentionally evil person.

this idea of Springtrap befriending a child while being haunted by his victims would be a lot more interesting if it was, well, Spring Bonnie. just say William stopped possessing the suit when his body was removed, but the spirits don't know that. dude's being blamed for the murders when William was the one wearing him (granted this'd have to be done really carefully)
Yeah that sounds way more interesting than this
It'd likely help if say, the springbonnie animatronic is found after the body is removed. Upgraded and given the same software sort of, as the glamrocks. This way the sentience makes sense. As older animatronic types from the 90s in reality don't have sentience (unless theoretically possessed but even then)
Enabling the animatronic to experience more.

Real life child murderers where pedos, and a story with Afton as a pedo could work it’s just the writers seem to be using it as ship bait instead of playing it for the horror that it is
What about SaM?
@@BlueSkyBirdieswell
No I think that was the canon reasoning.
Its sad that quinns sick doppelganger try to humanized springtrap but ironically lack humanity.

Why is it so hard for Talented people to be good people?

I have the same question. On the other side people ignore artists that weren't any danger to others.
That's what I'm saying the multiple times I follow a talented artist on social media only to find out they are pedophiles. Why?

With all due respect, FNAF is a franchise about murdering children so its not exactly ideal for anyone to base any of their real life situations on it maybe adding a disclaimer would help but I doubt it. The Internet is not a nice place at all. @@spoon7053
I was in a bad situation as a kid with my father, this felt the exact same my father treated me and made me incredibly comfortable as a kid and now.
How the hell did I watch this shit and think "aw this is so sweet he's like a protector 🥺💜"
Exactly bro😭😭 ignorance is a horrendous bliss
SAME 😭
I read protector as predator 💀

So did I when I first saw the comics 💀 I’m disturbed 😭🤚
I was 14 when I first listened to the UA-cam dub version. Looking back, I was a bit dumb for being on Springtraps side or liking the comic. The daddy issues hit hard. Justice for Nick

It’s ok, you were a teenager
my headcanon for this comic was that Afton and the "spirit" of spring bonnie were in constant battle for control.
We have the same exact headcannon! Well, had, I sort of completely forgot about this comic
Theres a webtoon series that does this exact trope! Its called fnaf shattered time, check it out if you have the chance :)
@@oogaboogaimaeaturtoes366 Thanks I'll go check it out!

@@pilloeglade5463 So Like FNAF World Springbonnie And Springtrap Got Smushed Together?
first of all, He would never be like this. The real William Afton if his actions was the same in the fnaf trilogy he would have to reject god and he would have been given over to a debased mind and enjoy sin happily. think about his character from the vhs tapes like the scrimpus mcgrimpus and the battington tapes.
Springtrap after doing quite literally anything weird or pervy: F-forgive me… 🥺
39:48 "I *double* don't like you" is such a banger line and has been added to my vocabulary
improve your newspeak, comrad!
"My distaste for your presense has multiplied by a factor of 2."
It appears to me that the author was most likely projecting their trauma into this story. Roleplaying Nick telling Deliah how awful Springtrap is sounds like something they wished was told to them.
I believe Quinn said they related more to springtrap
@@stitchgor3 Then I guess there's some concerns to be be raised. But it could also be another trauma response of putting herself in the assailant's shoes to get a sort of "revenge".
To be fair, some people can have fantasies like this without any sexual trauma.
@@mustard9808 Literally this. I think assuming Quinn did all of this because of trauma without hard proof is giving them too much grace.
Reasons why Scott quit:
-People making cringy ahh ships of his characters
-The NSFW art of his character that if the satan himself saw them he'll stop sinning
-*And this*
Why would he care abt NSFW? Your the one that cares abt it 💀
I still remember reading the comic and got to the part where the kid and Springtrap had their confrontation in his bedroom before he leaves a long time ago, but never truly finishing it due to losing interest in FNAF fan stuff at that time, but never knew that they've done that stuff behind the scenes before their eventual (and honestly the best thing for one to do) departure from the internet as well as not completely finishing the comic out of respect to those who deemed it as a bad idea for obvious reasons.
I hope the creator is getting better and is using their creative skills for good instead of using it to create very bad art that should never be made in the first place as well as the victims being able to live without fearing the person in question too
Yeah me too
While the comic is most likely written before William Afton's name and family was a thing, they could improve on Springtrap and Deliah's relationship.
That honestly sounds amazing and heartbreaking
That sounds way better than the real one tbh
Do you have the parody somewhere we could read it? I'm actually interested :D
I’ll pay actual money to read it
@@radioactivepower600nanaspersecI just posted the link in a comment here, since others who had read my jokes in the translation I mentioned also suggested to write the parody^^
