Hey, year old comment I know but I have an RG7421 and am wondering about replacing the bridge with the Ibby 7 strig FP. What's your opinion on the new bridge?
I have this guitar and was wondering if the hipshot bridge type that you see on like higher end new model jacksons and schethat's, yanno with more of a side wall on the bridge than this specific model installed here, if that makes sense....can be installed on this ibanez? really want one with that extra palm resting real estate lol so I'm hoping theres a model like the one I'm referring to available lol. man I'm on the verge of teachingg myself how to remove the pickup rings through online tutorials because I generally just dont like pickup rings on super strat style guitars. IMO I think the only look good on PRS, CTs, and Les Paul/Single Cut models 😅.
Its not in all seriousness that complicated, Phillips screw driver, tighten to fasten it to the body, its a wood body with finish, don’t tighten so much you’d crack the finish. Tighten enough that its secure to body
I have just received mine for Ibanez RGA42FM. As first impression, I'm disappointed because when you pay 120 euro for a piece of metal you expect at least the packaging to exists. Basically I've got exactly what you see in the video: the bridge, a piece of paper and a small plastic bag with the screws. There is nowhere any brand on it. Second and the most annoying is the color of the screws and springs. Even the black bridge is coming with shiny stainless steel screws and springs which is relay ugly. I am thinking to use the ones from the original bridge but I don't know if the tune will be affected (should not but ...). Otherwise is well made. I will come back after I mount it.
Hey man so did this improve the tuning stability on your Ibanez?? These guitars are known for their bridges that destabilize tuning. Does the hipshot solve the issue?
Yes the guitar is stable, if you are still experiencing tuning issues after this it is probably your strings getting stuck in the nut, any experienced technician will be able to solve this issue problem for you with the proper tools, sometimes people will upgrade there strings to higher gauges without proper filing and maintenance and it will cause the string to catch, you make a heavy bend and it pulls the string to another catch location making it out of tune, also using a graphite pencil in the string grooves may help your issue
TriCrow Studios Yes absolutely. And many Ibanez bridges are known faulty tuning issues. Good to know there’s a solid replacement bridge out there! I just need to find a simple trim bridge that fits my Ibanez model. I’ll get in touch with hipshot like you mentioned.
Thanks for the video on this bridge. I am looking at this bridge as an upgrade on my RGA42FM along with some Hipshot locking tuners and a TUSK but.
I'm interested. Did you make those modifications?
I just bought the 7 string version for my RG7421 looking forward to the upgrade!

With this bridge r the pickups F space like the prestige rg652 fx with fixe bridge ???
Wonder if this would be teh same bridge for the slightly wider Wizard III neck that came on later Ibanez.
What torque screwdriver do you use, and at what setting? Thanks

Is this bridge compatible with any RG with Gibraltar standard bridge ? I have two RG , six and seven strig where I wish to replace the bridge.

Did you get to make more improvements to that guitar? I also have that Ibanez model and I am interested in knowing.
Thanks for the vid. What are the improvements beside aesthetics?
Just better feel because it’s not as pointy on the top
