The architect talked about doing a reclamation project, where the lake front land would be extended out right in front of where the stadium sits currently to build the Hexatron. Then they could tear down the old stadium and build whatever they want there.
These teams with throwaway stadia. HOW can we be ready to replace a stadium after less than 30 years? Toronto is talking about replacing the Skydome. EVERYTHING is still great with that stadium. We need to invest and KEEP infrastructure!
I agree. I'm from Buffalo and they are FINALLY building a new one ..... but theirs is fifty one years old. There are literally NFL cities who have replaced THREE stadiums in that time period. I drive by the Brown's stadium and in my mind I still think it's brand new. Heck, it LOOKS great to me. This is stupid, having to build a new stadium after twenty five or six years.
This will never happen. The designer who came up with this is a kook! There isn't going to be a Brookpark stadium. Everyone needs to come to grips that Haslam is playing Cleveland.
If they get a retractable roof, they will be getting more use of the stadium than just football! Concerts, NCAA football and basketball, Wrestlemania…etc
Stadiums like Seattle, San Francisco and Kansas City have been able to host concerts, wrestle mania and NCAA football games. Those are outdoor stadiums and they’re fine.
Browns better worry about putting a consistent winner on the field to warrant a new stadium. The last one lasted 100 years, so can The Factory of Sadness.
The Browns need a new stadium. When the current stadium was built it was rushed so it could open on time before the start of the 1999 season. If they build the new stadium on the existing site the Browns should relocate to Canton for 3 years so the stadium can be done correctly and not be rushed Canton has everything the Browns need. The stadium was recently renovated and the stadium has many things around it. It would serve as a smaller model minus the dome on what the Browns could do up here in Cleveland. I'd like to see that entire lakefront be redone. Doing the entire thing would cost $10 billion dollars to do and the city can't afford it. In closing I see them moving to Brookpark.
The league will not let them play in Canton for a full season. Ever since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970, the league mandated that stadiums that host NFL regular season games must have a MINIMUM capacity of 50,000(not including Standing Room Only). The stadium in Canton is a high school stadium and seats only 23,000. Unless the league grants them a waiver(and i doubt they will), the ONLY stadium they could relocate to in Ohio that could hold them for two or three years would be Ohio Stadium(The Horseshoe) at Ohio State.
The browns do not need a new stadium. The one they currently have on the lakefront is not bad and it’s not that old. (25 years if I recall) Browns wanting a new stadium is just a moneymaker for the owners and it would just ruin the atmosphere.
@Mrcharles. so you hate the idea of a new stadium with a dome that could draw year round events? The current stadium is only used maybe 10 to 12 dates a year. That in itself is a waste. A new stadium would bring in revenue to not only the Browns but also to other businesses that would be around the stadium. You're not thinking outside the box.
@scoot1105 Canton is a downscaled version of what the browns could do. Just look at what's around the stadium in Canton. The Rams in recent years did play in a much smaller stadium and made it work and it had held like 30k. Playing in Canton would be the same.
Let the Cleveland Guardians get a new Stadium at Brooks Park next door to the airport and and the Cleveland Browns can have Progressive Field for the NFL season
Now you know that's not gonna work!! The NFL mandates a stadium must hold a MINIMUM capacity of 50,000. Progressive Field seats approximately 34,000. There would have to be a massive renovation to the stadium just to bring it to the NFL minimum, and who's gonna pay for that? Definitely not the Browns!
They can build these new stadiums all they want to....But its time for tax payer funding for ANY STATDIUM , BALLPARK, AREANA, to end plain and simple....Seems politicians who vote for tax payer funding for these projects always seem to be able to find the money to give these Billionaires so they can have a brand new shinny home for their millionaires to play in...But these same politicians just cannot seem to find the funding to supply schools children with supplies and lunches so the teachers dont have to pay for YOUR KIDS SUPPLIES out of their own pockets.....PRIORITY i guess huh ???? Maybe build on it the Muni parking lot. It’s massive

I know it gets cold down there but I just vividly remember old Municipal stadium and compared to that the current stadium is a palace!!!
All Sports History mentions the Hexatron in What happened to the original Cleveland Browns?
FYI. Rule lakefront not private auto and a USCG Base is there. PaulBrown coached
Hexatron - when a Transformer disguises as a stadium.
Just build it Cleveland. its the era of the superstadium and you dont want to feel left out

It looks nice and the Browns need to stay on the lakefront just like the Browns, and the Skins needing to return to RFK.
Maybe the Browns should have more than 3 or 4 winning seasons before asking for anything.
Browns better worry about putting a consistent winner on the field to warrant a new stadium.
The last one lasted 100 years, so can The Factory of Sadness.
Mann build the stadium the kinda like the Rams stadium where it is open om the sides so I can still be cold 🥶 but able to play in all year long!

Like Senator Everett Dirksen once said, "A billion here and a billion there, and pretty soon, we're talking real money."
He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall surely come to want.
forget the lakefront, go with four direction access to brook park..
Say Goodbye to the lakefront already. It doesn’t work anymore.
Such a pretty stadium! Nice location too! I hope they just pluck a roof on it !!
Im not sure where this is coming from.....
It's an old idea that is coming back around. It won't happen.
The Browns are not going to play at the Hall of Fame. That stadium is far too small. It holds 23,000. It cant be expanded any further.
Canton would be the ideal place for a year or two. It has everything you need even though it's smaller.
There's no reason the Browns can't work out a deal to play at the 'Shoe temporarily.

Easy to forget that Lucas Oil has a retractable. Waste of money.
Waste of money??? How when the final 4 is there not to mention football payoffs college that is. You must be thinking of another stadium.
