I have been using Mi Band series since it's only vibrating and no screen at all (Mi Band 1) and now I'm currently using the 5th version and they never disappoint me..

Hey Michael, nice video as always. One question: Is SpO2 "tracking" continuous like HR tracking (with a graph and everything) or you take one measurement manually every time?

It is manual at this point.
No wearable will constantly measure SpO2, as it is a battery draining process

@@dogansengun In time. They use different sensors, then the optical based ones, in order to do that. It would be nice to see the Apple Watch SE updated to have that, or it be implemented in a sub $300 device. The Fitbit Sense does it, with one bit caveat; only when you’re sleeping, and during periods of stillness in the sleep cycle.
During workout I usually need timer to either track HIIT workout or at least constraint the rest time between sets/excercises, but neither Mi Band 5 nor Mi Band 6 can do that now: both block access to timer function when workout mode is enabled. Although, Mi Band 6 now has music controls available in workout mode, which means it definitely has guts to manage parallel tasks here so I hold my fingers crossed so that they allow customizing the available-in-workout-mode function.
Multi-tasking is still a no-go for these basic trackers. I think AMazfit GTR2 can do that.
@@TechMishka as I've pointed out, Mi Band 6 already has multitasking, but it's limited to music player controls during workout. It's limited, but it's there, which means other combinations could be brought in, too.

I also hope that in future firmware updates we will be able to see sleep data on the band itself.

i got the mi band 6 for christmas and it's very amazing. i'm thinking about buying at least 3 more. they're very useful compared to a normal watch or having to constantly check the phone. this has to be the first time in my life i recommend a product. lol.

If ur more of a fitness guy, then go for Mi Band 6 since theres 30 sports modes available.
If you want something that looks bigger and like a smartwatch screen, you can go for the Honor Band 6, but keep in mind that honor band 6 only has 10 sports modes compared to the mi band 6 that has 30. The display of it only has 286 ppi (not sure, but it is somwhere between 280-286) where as mi band 6 amoled display has 326 ppi which is insane for such a small fitness tracker 🔥

The mic quality is really bad for this video it seems when you make S noise and T noise. Idk if it’s from post audio editing or the recording just some feedback

There is no need to use the phone in order to set the alarm.
For those who are having trouble choosing between Mi band 6 and Honor band 6, rest assured as i will tell the details to make you choose which suits you best.
Mi band 6: Suitable for people who are living in minimalist, the screen size is smaller than Honor Band 6 no doubt, but the display of it is better than honor band 6 ( it has 326 ppi). Suitable for those who expect more workout modes as this band has 30 workout modes that can fit your style. The magnetic charging is also good.
Honor Band 6: Has less features compared to Mi Band 6, but the screen size is what gives you the chills. It looks just like a smartwatch for such a cheap price! Though it only has 10 workout modes which isnt that much. Furthermore, it has a button on the side panel which might be dangerous in case if you accidentally pressed it while swimming underwater. Unless if this band has the *Water eject" option that Apple Watch and Samsung has, then id say its more worth it (but that would make it more expensive so thats fine)
Conclusion, if you want more Features over Looks, you can go for Mi Band 6. If you prefer a bigger sized fitness tracker but with less features, you can go for the Honor Band 6.
For me, i like both of them, but im the kind of a fitness guy who wants that jump rope and Boxing mode so i would go for Mi Band 6. Let me know what you guys think 😅
I dont get it, what is the problem in you press the button, isnt honor band 6 water resistant? Also I dont care about more sport modes and I like bigger screen and I like tru sleep option better so I am waiting for honor band 6 to be available.
@@smartbug1 Actually wasnt me who said that in the first place, but it was a rumour from this youtuber who reviewed his Honor Band 6 (ill check back that video later). He said that while swimming, its best that you shouldnt press the button while the band is *underwater* because the water might enter inside the band through the button ( theres a slight thin outer ring hole that surrounds the button). Not sure if its true but even if that was true, chances of it not being waterproof is very very low since its already proven that Honor Band 6 is waterproof. 😁
In terms of accuracy, which are more functional?
@@kokohekmatyar5515 That one i cant say, because i dont even have those two bands in my possession 😅🤣 (all of what i said was just based on my research only) So for that, lets wait until someone does a video comparison of Honor Band 6 vs Mi Band 6 to see which is more accurate. I heard Honor band 6's sleep tracking is very accurate, not sure how mi band 6 is like.

The only thing that Xiaomi don't have is number of watch faces to keep...mi band offers only 3 watch faces to keep,whereas honour and amazfit offers more than 10 faces to keep.

Another great review, Mihail. I'm really glad you showed the MB6 next to the Honor Band 6. I've been REALLY tempted to pick up the HB6, even though I've been quite happy with my MB5. But I'm glad I waited as long as I have, as the MB6 will definitely prove to be the superior choice. Unfortunately, Huawei/Honor have continued to make accessing their watch face store seemingly impossible for U.S. customers, which kept me from purchasing the HB6. I'm very glad to see Xiaomi have managed to exceed the screen size of the HB6, all while keeping the exact form factor of the MB5. I'll be watching to see which comparisons you do between the MB6 and other trackers.

I think the overall size of HB6 is still a bit bigger, and maybe overall - better visible. But you are right - the iPhone app is quite a nightmare and the lack of integration with some platforms is a deal breaker for many people.
Mi Band 5 and 6 are quite good choices. I still like a lot the Mi Band 4 too 🧐
@@TechMishka Well, I now know that basic acronyms will no longer suffice in this increasingly competitive field 🤓, as I discovered not long after my response that Huawei now has a Band 6 to compete with Honor and Xiaomi... and while Xiaomi has the tallest of the the 3 displays, I've come to really appreciate the added width of both the Ho and Hu, and they still retain that basic tracker footprint, as opposed to squarish smartwatches. I'm still hoping to come across a YT video that reveals the number and actual design of all the factory watchfaces on the Huawei Band 6. If a few of them are acceptable, I can overlook the lack of U.S. access to the watchface store. 👍👍👍
If/when they fix the watchface store issue, my Huawei Band 4 Pro (with it's early SpO2 and built-in GPS(!), but terrible factory faces) just may "come out of retirement". 🤣
@Tech4all I ended up getting the Honor Band 6. But it's going back to the store cause I just ordered a Mi Band 6. I can't wait for your Versus video on them. I'm so excited for it. To me the main difference to me is the Blood Oxygen Level reader. As one does it while you sleep. And yeah the 30 vs 10 exercise thing but eyy they pretty much analyze the same things, BPM and burn calories.. also the Wide vs Long screen, and brighter screen. Please include which one does Blood Oxygen Levels more accurately and also which one, in general, more accurate. Thank you!!

This gave me more confidence with it but the fact that Mi Band 6 does it while you sleep is what won me over and I kinda feel confident that Mi's PPG Sensor should be more credible to Honor's Harvard claim? I'm pretty sure it integrates with Strava if you use the Zepp app instead of the Mi Fit App. I switched to the Zepp App from Mi Fit for my Mi Band 4 and all my runs get automatically synced to Strava.
Thing is that I've tried it, but didn't work with this version. Might be that the Zepp app will support it in the future.

I have the mi band 5, and since my budget is limited, I'm gonna stick with it, buy the funkey s handheld and then buy the mi band 7 when it comes! It's a relief to know that at the very least the seven will have a HUGE screen!!!! Thanks for the video it was very useful! Although I'm sad there aren't more custom watchfaces as that may have convinced me!!!

It will track your steps. If the phone is with you, you may also use the phone's GPS to have exact info about the track.

Hey, that's a very good question!
It enables you to track SPO2 manually - so you need to go to the app, launch it, wait 30 seconds and follow the instructions and then it shows the result. There's no continuous SpO2 tracking as it is with some smartwatches - like GT2 Pro or Ticwatch Pro 3.

Thankyou for the great review, Quick question At 7:33 when u talk about messages. It shows "2 new messages" I had this on my miband 3 and i was really irritated about it. Because only the first new message could be read but after that every next messages just says how many new messages u have on the phone. Could u clear up for me if now the firmware is able to display all whatsapp messages it's content?. Thankyou in advance! :)
It works the same way, If you have multiple messages - you cannot read them.
How is the screen brightness under the sunlight and does it reconnect itself when we step in and out of bluetooth range?
The Brightness is pretty good. And yes - it reconnects.

Both are great. Amazfit Band 5 has Alexa for some regions, with some limited functionality though.

April 2022 - Just got Mi 6 and installed Mi Fitness on iPhone ( this is not the old Mi Fit app ) Can not find anywhere to change units of measure from metric to imperial. Anyone know how ?

It will work without the phone. Just walk intensively for a few minutes and it will start tracking it.

I have only tried the Mi Band - and so far it shows pretty good results.
My Mi band 6 bracelet won't measure my Cycling without my phone on me. always prints must be connected to the phone (both bluetooth and location must be turned on). I've tried everything and it won't measure me while I'm riding my bike without my phone. Some help with this?

It can track based on algorithm estimations. Only way to properly track is to use the phone's GPS.

Is it just me or is the scrolling a little glitchy and if so, would it get better with firmware updates?
It is a little glitchy - same as it is with Mi Band 5. Might get a little better, but won't become Galaxy-watch-smooth.
Is there automatic GPS tracking on the band?
There is no GPS at all inside the Mi Band.

picked up the Amazfit band 5 for $33 delivered. do not regret it. I could give a shit about the extra sports modes. I really DID hope that one of these would sync with strava but I've got a chest heart rate monitor for such things so no big deal. wake me up when we have gps and strava for $45. ;)
I hope that once Honor fully separate from Huawei - they will sort out the part with Strava.
@@TechMishka agreed! I'd even be okay with it syncing with ANYTHING that has a conduit to Strava! These devices don't even sync with Wahoo which basically supports everything under the sun. I use Notify which is dandy but then IT doesn't support speed/cadence sensors so it lacks that functionality. But a boy can still dream, right? ;-)

@@Tolotoss good question... and for clarification I need to expound: it can sync the RIDE or exercise to Strava, but Strava cannot use it as a live heartrate monitor. which I actually do not think it was ever designed to do so again I just rely on my chest mounted device. For $35 there are just going to be some concessions. ;)

Yeah, sure. The Huawei Band 6 here is not accessible yet, but it's essentially a rebranded Honor Band 6.
Disappointing that it doesn't have NFC. I would have definitely bought it if it had.

Only if the phone can sync the data - it means it is nearby.

My mi band 5 in first 2 month battery was completely drain in 13 days then 7 days now every 7 or 6 days i recharge my mi band 5 . I think it will be same battery problem with mi band 6

No Alexa integration as far as I know. But the Amazfit Band 5 has such.

What about altitude ? I have mi band 5 and poco f1 and there is no atitude in records when i ride my bike all is flat terain but the phone have altimeter .
Not supported by Mi Band yet...
