- The Dam Is Finished! well, sort of. This is the final video on the three part series of the dam re-build. As a homestead, we had wanted a pond for a long time. Last year we attempted to build that pond and the dam ended up failing on us. In the previous two video we have gone over exactly why it failed and how to avoid these problems. In this video we finally top out the dam and get some great aerial shots of before and after to really showcase the progress on this pond build. Huge shout out to Jerry, who is the retired dozer operator that helped us out, Man behind the Scenes for coming up and running the roller, and Mike for renting us the excavation equipment. Hope you enjoy the video!

Jerry and Aaron? That’s truly a Win/Win for Team Kleeman👍🏻😊
well dun Jerry for keeping on going and showing up the youngsters
With all your helpers the best part is the family.
Agree!!!
Repairing a dam and MBTS running the roller seem like a natural set up.
I enjoy watching Jerry work his magic. 💪🏼
It will be a nice place to waste some time when it fills up. Always fun watching Jerry work his magic.
That’s exactly right!
great job guys. thanks to Aron for leanding a hand.
Good friends make the world go round
Your no Jerry, but you got the jobs done.I would have given the 850 a bath . Keep up the good work Captain!
Thank you Brad!
Noticed even the pets like MBTS! What not to like? He is a nice guy!
This doesn’t even look like the same location now. Huge transformation! The dam failure turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Now you have a pond that is twice the size in a beautiful location that you can be very proud of. That dam will not fail again. Giving a big shoutout to Aaron and Jerry for helping you on the repair.
Hey appreciate ya watching!
FRIENDS makes the world go round .nice job capt mike….👍👍🌟🌟🌟
It's so awesome to have good friends it's amazing what can be accomplish when some friends come to help
100% agree!
Captain, you are turning out to be a very fine dozer operator
Thank you sir!
Man that turned out awesome. That's how you make lemonade ol boy. 💪 🍻 to good friends, where would we be without our tribes. Enjoyed it captain
Congratulations on the bigger pond build . Hope it solves the problems.
Gonna be a whole lotta fond memories happening on that pond once it's done your children will remember the rest of their lives.
Nice job to you captain kleeman man behind scenes, Jerry and of course mr. Perfect for allowing you to rent the machines without all those machines it wasn't possible looks great thus far. Keep up the good work captain
Thank you Eddie!
For fish structure. You can use clay pipe. Fish love it and lasts forever. God bless
Hey Captain K. Been a while not watching, my bad. Jerry get you helped out Old Guys Rule!! I know I are One Too!
Out of the ashes rose the phoenix, ok a bigger pond !!!
For the fish habitat, could you use concrete blocks, bricks or stone ??
You had plenty of help along the way, and you certainly needed it !!! Good to have friends who can bring their skills along to help out, I was half expecting to see your eldest operating the roller !!
Good advice from your better half to the girls to go into the pond, you will never see it again !! You are leaving a fantastic legacy on this land, long may it continue Sir !! 💪😎👍🇬🇧
Maybe some slate rock on the property could make good fish habitat? I would pour an underwater concrete bridge. You have some experience on that. lol. At least you could shape it so it doesn't catch lures. Even double as a boat ramp??? You'll figure it out. Cheers Captain. Sorry been away a few weeks getting married. Best week ever! 🙌
The pond looks good that Jerry do a good job
Mike: "little fellower, I took his house, I feel bad about that, he'll find another!"
Snake: "Now that you mentioned it Mike, I did find a new home. I'm going to slither over there. It's not quite finished, but it is in the beautiful shape of a river boat"! 🤣🤣🤣
Done right!!! That’s a pond to be proud of!!
Thank you sir!
For structure, we filled 5-gallon buckets with concrete. Built our own “trees” out of PVC pipe that was stuck in that concrete. Fish love them, and the hooks slide over the round piping.
Oh good idea!
Pond!! Small lake. Nice job Mike. Fun for all in years to come
Always great to have great friends. Pond is looking great. Thank you for taking your time to share with us
Jerry and MBTS helping out! I'm assuming those closeups of Jerry on the dozer was the signature MBTS camera shots. Unless Mike decided to be a little dangerous himself! The pond repair is coming along very well!
You're going to owe Jerry big. He is such a great guy. Even MBTS showed up and helped. You are truly blessed to have such great friends. God bless
Oh you guys just have so much fun😉The breakfast tasted marvelous...at least to that cute pup😍!!!looking forward to the next videos and that pond looks SOOOO GOOD😄 S. SLC.
@@danielashford2430 no Jerry is the other neighbor. Different neighbors yet they all share pretty much everything. God bless
Wild to see what you can do with some equipment in the middle of the woods!
Just takes a little vision and a lot of fuel!
Looks Great; difficult to see how the dam could end up so level.
I think I have your measure; you enjoyed it so much the first time you wanted to do it again!! LOL..
It’s nice to have friends with skills hope you feed them well.
Nice job mike, the pond is going to be incredible when it’s full
Thanks Brian!
Hooray for multi-talented Man Behind the Scenes
You are so right, what was a mistake a costly one at that in the long run will be a blessing!
Can't wait to see it full of water.
Like it. I do think the silver lining is the larger pond, and usable recreation space all around now. Great job to everyone on this job.

Thank you sir and hope all is well!
I was just thinking that Arron stopping by to run the roller is a setup. From now on he will tell people that he came out one day and built the whole pond by himself

WOW what a difference. It's good to have the right people to help out Mike. Jerry is a master with that dozer. I can't wait to see it after the grass is in and the water's up. NO CHEATING using the drone to see where the fish are staying when they are in, lol. Good job guys
What Abigail difference it's looking good bless
You have great friends and and awesome new LAKE! It turned out great.
Some of the best guys around!
I believe that you need to change the name of this video to “Average guys who are Superstars”! DP for having the machines to do the job! Jerry for having the operator skills and willingness to work and help! Aaron, Man Behind the Scenes he is there when you need him the most and these days that is something more rare than diamonds 💎! And let’s not forget the One and only Captain Kleeman, where does one begin? Owns a mistake, formulates a plan to not only fix the issue but in the end turn small project from a disaster to a masterpiece! Thanks for sharing, your work ethic is outstanding and inspiring!
P. S shout out to Matt a.k.a Mr . Millennial
What a beautiful pond and what a Massive undertaking!!!Good on you and yours Mike. Be safe through those torrents of rain and wind. Keep in touch if you can. I know we are all praying for your safety. Sharron. SLC UT

Great job Cap'n.
must be the year of the hornets even here in canada their real bad. nice to have mbts and jerry to help make it good again. your a great bunch of guys. thanks for the fun. cheers fellas.
I don't think Jerry will ever be "truly" retired. Seems like the kind of guy who can't sit still until it's no longer an option.
What a project this has been though. Took some time and effort and can't wait to see it filled up!
You can tell he definitely feels at home when moving dirt
Great job. While the water is low, You could sink a couple white oak posts and use the sawmill to mill some beams to make a fishing pier. A cuddle chair for 2 could provide a relaxing place. Oops. Sorry, I'm a dreamer and getting ahead of the project...
Hopefully one day!
Great video , You are blessed to have friends like this. All you guys are great and a real pleasure to watch. Looking good. Thanks for sharing...

Very nice Mike. Looks great. I really like the size now compared to the original. I'll bet you're kinda glad the dam collapsed. Now you have a shallow side for the kids.

You were looking pretty good on the 120. DP and Millnea had a rainy day competition and destroyed half a dozen eggs and extended a challenge to you and a few others I don't know.. Good Luck. I gave DP a little dig about the truck driving comp.
Thanks Daniel!

Mike you and the crew excelled yourselves now just the tidy up work landscaping overflow pipe in, as the saying go's will look better than a ducks nuts. Hope Ida didn't spoil it too much.
I am impressed with the pond how nice it turned out. Out if something gone wrong it was actually a blessing in disguise and it’s wonderful to see the family enjoying the project also. You’re going to have an amazing place to do cookouts and family time. You are a good family man. God bless
I thought I liked the pond before the dam failed, but this turned out incredible. Have a blessed and safe weekend, and please stay healthy.
Thank you William!
Cap’n, that looks spectacular. You guys did a mighty tidy job on that rebuild job. I can’t wait to feed the fish when I sail over on the UA-cam Yacht!!!
You mentioned fish cover. When I was 16, my Yardner job turned into a lake builder for the summer. My boss hired a construction crew to build a 4 acre lake in a valley in his sons property. An older guy and I were charged with building three stationary fishing docks and numerous fish breeding structures.
As soon as the bottom of the pond was established we began dismantling a neighbors rock wall and loading it into an old pickup bed. The stones ranged in size from basketball to bushel basket in diameter. They were both roundish and flat. We then hauled them to the pond bottom and made stacks about 6’ in diameter. They were laid to make as many cavities as possible for smaller fish to have cover. It took two pickup loads of stones per pile.
Once they were in place we laid a tractor tire flat in the top. These had a couple of holes drilled in the side wall to allow air to escape. We repeated this maybe a half dozen times.
The fishing docks were located so they had clear fishing lanes to both reach and get between the the spawning beds. Once the lake was full the tops of the tires were between three and six feet below the surface.
Did it work? Like a charm. The catfish flourished. So much so that… after I turned 18, I left that job and started work in a factory. The following year my youngest brother took a job with my old boss.
Every Saturday, he went to the lake and trapped catfish. These were then cleaned and sold to a local Mom & Pop corner market. Because they were fed daily, the fish had grown to the perfect size and, I know for a fact that they were delicious! Because, while my brother was trapping, I was fishing to catch my own dinner!
As for bass and perch, the fish docks and aquatic plants provided adequate cover for them. The docks were built so that the bottom of their decks were 6” above the spillway surface. I had fishing rights to that lake for about 12 years. I caught the largest and most bass of my life during that time period.
The design of the fish structures came from our local State Conversation Agent… his son is now serving in his dad’s place. The father advised also on the best mix and quantity of the half dozen species of bait, sport snd catfish to stock. He also helped get fingerlings at a discount. Best of all, the advice cost nothing!
Cap’n, I’ve never built my own pond so, obviously I’m no expert. But, I know people who are. Perhaps your Local game warden is a free resource you could tap into so that you get it right the first time?
I sent you a follow up email. It explains the dates I screwed up in the previous correspondence. Please accept my apologies and take a fresh look.
I was successful in downloading the clip that I wanted. Thanks.
We have lots of rocks and thought about doing something similar. Thanks for the story! Reaching out to the game warden would be a good idea. Saw the email, hope to reply soon. Thanks for everything!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and videos, pond is turning out really nice again. Always nice to see friends helping out. Looking forward to seeing you finish it out with all the nice options. Wishing you and your family the best.
Looks Good Bud...It will be Really nice when it full. Glad you got it finished before the Big Rain...maybe that will help fill it...Great Video. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the support Thomas!
Congratulations, Great looking pond.
Thank you!
Take some of those root balls, stumps, and tree trunks to make some good fish habitat….that could turn into a fantastic fishing pond.
You're a lucky man, you have a beautiful family, you get to play with all of the big boys toys and you have a fishing hole to sustain your family in case of a emergency. What more could a feller ask for?...lol.
Lucky indeed!
Fantastic brother, thumbs up. Great job
Thank you!
Looking good Cap 👊💪👍
