    I bought these pedals at launch and am very happy overall. Had some interference with the control box until I changed my setup around but the pedals are incredible. I wish companies would fit electromagnetic shielding to their products as standard.
    On the point about the "secret" port, I took part in a Simlab questionnaire where they asked what I'd like to see them "manufacture" next. The secret port is probably so they can build connection to a wheelbase or peripherals in the future. Just a hunch but I'm guessing a wheelbase is in the works. You heard it here first if its true 😆

    Best review on these pedals yet. I’ve had them since launch and am delighted to now learn I can fit the SimMagic haptics. I see you have a haptic on the accelerator, can this indicate tyre slip in iRacing?

    Great review, I also always thought these pedals are a good recommendation, so I am glad to see confirmation on this! I am one of those dudes, who paid way too much on his pedal setup and kind of felt regret when the SimLab pedals came out, hahahaha =).
    But people can learn from those mistakes... nothing against Asetek and the others, those are great pedals, but I also think that SimLab for example are way better in terms of value.

  • @OneBitStream
    @OneBitStream 3 місяці тому

    Just a note on the choice of ADC. I know from my own analysis that even though they use the 24 bit external ADC, they are only reporting it via the HID descriptor to the PC as 16 bit. I assume this will be the same for the pedals but I don't own a set to check. For a handbrake 16 bits is more than enough, and in fact I have made a converter for the fanatec wheelbase which only uses 12 bits and its perfectly fine.
    If you are interested, the fanatec converter I have made allows any third party USB shifter or handbrake to connect to the fanatec wheelbase without modification. This enables you to use a greater number of devices on console.

    • @DanSuzuki
      @DanSuzuki  3 місяці тому +1

      Yeah tbh anything with at least 10 bit is fine - no way anybody would be able to tell a difference in performance

  • @pandacongolais
    @pandacongolais 8 місяців тому +3

    Great pedal set. I have mine since December.
    Be careful thought :
    - the throttle pedal rotation axis screws got lose. Fortunately, I heard the noise before it became too late
    - I had a grey part replacement (quick and free) because a screws thread (for the pedal tilting) got destroyed. I swear, I never use any electric tool to adjust the height. Only by hand, and no more the 4 times before it broke
    - squeaking : I solved it by putting the recommended grease. Two times. The first one on the metal rod. And because after two hours, it came back a little, the second time everywhere : inside the elastomer, inside the spring and elastomer cups. It's silent now !
    Now, everything is fine. I'll check the throttle response curve. That was never a question for me, I did not notice anything. But note that I had a Thrustmaster T3PA Pro before, so, many things to learn, or adjust, little by little ! And a lot of training still ahead !
    And it's tempting to add one or two of these Simagic feedback things !

      I have the P1000s and I am pleased by them but I have minor doubts about the used load cells. As I could also see the fading issue with the brake pedal, I exchanged the elastomers with springs. To my surprise, the phenomena still exists. Therefore, my only idea is that it must be down to the load cell. If anyone has a guess what else it could be, I would be more than happy to hear it. At this point I would rather go with the SimLab XP1 as I until now also only made good experiences with SimLab products.

    These are one of the best price/performance/quality options to consider. Most reviews of them are positive but I was also interested with their design how it makes them ideal for additional Simhub based tactile. Now @Dan Suzuki, how do I convice you to try out a tactile solution for them with custom made effects I can share with you. One that goes beyond what the HPR offers but is, affordable and easy to implement.

    How do these compare to the VRS set? I orginally wanted to upgrade to the XP1 from my Fanatec v3s but, after I found your video and similair sentiments that the VRS set is the best for sim racing I was planning on going that way.

      vrs. a friend of mine just got the xp1. had replacements delivered by simlab to his door but still they were clicky and squeeky. the shafts were made of low quality rods. there was no lubricant. customer service is very good tho but i would skip it.

    • @sens8ion
      @sens8ion 8 місяців тому

      I cant speak on the VRS pedals as the highest price/tier pedals I've owned are the XP1's. I believe the XP1's have much more in terms of adjustment (Both range and number of things you can adjust). Regarding the other commenters mention of squeaky pedals, using the recommended grease solved the problem entirely for me. I did also notice a "Clickiness" as if the brake pedal was "Sticky" (Best word to describe honestly). The stickiness and squeaking go hand-in-hand, and using the recommended lubricant in the manual solved each for me

    How do you feel about the differences between VRS and these on the progressive braking feel? That’s one thing that is really hanging me up on choosing between the two. Great video Dan ❤, just have a quick question. Really hard to choose between, money aside….(HE+ w Simmagic brake motor, P1000 Hydraulic, VRS, or Simlab). I understand they’re all great in their own way we’re talking minor minor things here but, really looking high adjustability & most of all a great feeling of control coming off the brakes.. currently my sprints with the elastomers and no damper the pedal returns to quickly and find inconsistency over stint sometimes with maybe heating of elastomers or such. Just looking for your opinion on what you would go with of those options, considering what I mentioned. Thank you!

    Such a positive review from every tester, and these pedals are "amazing," but...
    - face plates require aftermarket DIY covers to be comfortable with socks
    - non-linear hall sensor and no way to correct this in the software
    - squeaky hardware out of the box (none of my many pedals have ever done this)
    - heels can rub on the adjustment dials when wearing socks
    - weirdly filtered brake feel
    Objectively speaking, these are all issues that shouldn't be present. How did Sim Lab let any of the above issues get through the development and testing phase? I wish reviewers were more critical because no, these don't sound all that amazing. Not all of these will be issues for everyone, of course, but it just seems crazy to me that they exist at all.

    Welche würdest du nehmen?

    is it worth the extra price to buy invicta pedals - yes/no?😊

    • @DanSuzuki
      @DanSuzuki  8 місяців тому

      no, i personally would probably pick the simlab over the invicta these days ...

    • @LoganBolePhoto
      @LoganBolePhoto 8 місяців тому

      if you have a micro center nearby you can get the invicta pedals for around $550 so might be worth it then

      @michaelmarlow6773 8 місяців тому +1

      As an invicta owner of 2 years... dont buy them unless you have a really specific need IRL to have a heavy brake. The throttle is shit and every little add-on is sold as a microtransaction (a $15 spring + $40 shipping, for example). Not to mention my first brake cylinder failed/leaked after a year of use where I rarely, if ever, engaged the hydraulic phase. So absolutely not worth it regardless of what price they are down to.
