Thanks mate. Glad you liked it. Adjusting the suspension to suit your weight will make a big difference. Unfortunately the front is not adjustable, but you will definitely notice the difference if you set up the rear.

Good video. I'm 80kg and picked up a brand new klr adventure last week. The stock settings have been fine for me so far. I literally filled the panniers and strapped on a bag in the dealership and rode from Bundaberg to the gold coast via D'angular national park and tamborine mountain return. Never test rode the bike before purchase, and I'd never ridden a KLR before. For my weight and luggage, I found the stock settings on the suspension to be a joy on the hwy and very predictable off-road at sensible speeds the KLR is designed for. I think people expect it to be a full blown enduro bike. It's the Toyota Prado of the motorcycle world.

How about a video on the riding gear you use, helmets gloves jackets. My Ducati pikes peak was delivered this morning. I have separate gear for each bike I own. I’m looking at a Klim You mention jiujitsu I’m also a practitioner

@@adventurebikesaustralia7627 I can tell you what repairs I need to carry out on my KLR soonish which I haven't found any (good) videos on: repair or foot peg bolt threads and replacement of water pump seals without taking the engine cover off. Not sure if that helps...

Back to the topic of this video, suspension, and somewhat related: correct process of tensioning the chain after cleaning it (with chain cleaner vs. diesel vs. kerosene?) and inspecting the sprockets / or after replacement of chain and sprockets.
@@adventurebikesaustralia7627 I have about 250 miles on mine and so far it is still on the factory setting. When I decide to fiddle with the suspension however, I will do so with confidence, thanks to your tutorial.
Im around 180lbs or 82 ish KG and I run my preload at 5 and have changed out the front springs to something more stiff. The setup is really nice for just me but when I have the wife on the back of the bike it still sinks about an 1inch or 2 and the rear does bottom out offroad without much speed. She adds about 120 lbs with gear or around 52 kg. It makes me want to change out the full shock for something better, but the adjustment being so simple is a huge plus.
i'd really like to change my fork oil , to put a thicker oil in. i dont know how. could you do a video for us all perhaps you could do progressive springs while you are there.
Great video, excellent explanations and pictures! Just so I understand, if I want the firmest ride, the preload line will be set at "5", and I will turn the screw clockwise as far as it will go? Is that correct? Thank you!

Sorry to bother you again bit off topic but Just unpacking the SRC crash bars and No.4..x2 Rubber Plate ..not the rubber bushes…is missing did you get them doesn’t seem to be on any other installation videos maybe they don’t use them anymore…. Anyway bike in bits waiting for SRC to send them 😢
@@flipfpv4539 My understanding is that the rubber components are part of the redesign to address the cracking problem. You’re going to want to wait for them. Might be worth confirming that are getting the second generation and it the first generation too, just to be sure.

Yes, that is a very good point. I’ve looked into YSS suspension, and adjusting it is much more difficult than adjusting the factory one.

Yes, that sounds right. Just be careful with that rebound setting though. You might find you turn the bike into a pogo stick.
I had a Kawasaki tank bag on my gen 2, it was held on by magnets. I’m now looking at a tusk large tank bag. The bag is held on by traps
How did you find the magnet system? Did it damage the paint?

Hi mate. Mine was at 5, and about a 1/4 turn from max on the rebound. I’m 183cm tall and 95 kilos plus gear.

@@rexlaymon12 yes, it's the best for our weight. You could try position 4 or 5. 5 feels like a street only bike. It will work great for you mate.
