One of the most tragic love story i have ever known.

Came back to this after watching the latest Cinematic where Jaina didn't get a last word with Arthas. This is still beautiful and heals the pain.
She had the last words about Arthas in wotlk's end, when Lich King got defeated and we gave her the necklace which Arthas hold in his pocket, that Jaina gave him.

Jaina's reaction to Arthas still having her locket even as the lich king rips my heart out every time...seeing things from her point of view.the proof there may have been a way to free him...

@@simplicityisoftenthebest7856 Yup, killing Arthas is what killed WoW. It has never been as good, just like how Avengers End Game killed marvel, since it burnt so brightly, itll never be able to top 10 years of story telling, even if it was all mashed up and forced together and no one noticed it but meh.
Point is, if they'd kept Arthas alive, he could've been a faction leader, or, they could've let players become the Lich King, it would've been quite a fun experience. Dragonball Xenoverse 2 introduced a mechanic that allows you to spend a rare resource that you can acquire in order to enter Que for a raid battle, but by spending said resource, you become the raid boss and players have to defeat you. WoW could've done the same thing, granted, this is 10 years later so it wasnt thought of yet. But it would've been nice to give us a reason to keep WOTLK alive.
On the other hand, how would you even free Arthas? Even if it was possible, he was so fucking powerful it literally took the worlds greatest heroes and several armies combined just to fell one man. There would be no subduing. If he drew breath, he was unstoppable. Makes you wonder how he was so powerful in the first place. I mean, he was just a Paladin, and that Frostmourne blade did nothing to make him stronger, it merely made him immortal, it was a stronger weapon than his hammer, but so what. Not by much. Gave him life steal instead of divine shield. no big deal tbh. So how did he get SO strong? Because in Wc3 he struggles against Illidan alone, but in WoW he can solo an entire army of heroes. Hm..
Kugrox you’re right they could have done something like Dragonball Xenoverse it would’ve been cool and as for subduing Arthas it was possible since almost all of the greatest heroes of Azeroth (and us) want him gone and Jaina IS a well respected person for both factions so she could somehow convince them to help her so it could be possible to get him back albeit undead but possible
@@Kugrox end game didnt kill marvel. It killed the old marvel cinematic universe, which it was meant to do. It was meant as the final episode to the series, they're going to start the movies from scratch and tell a different story. Worst comparison you could've made.
Fucking Hell, that cut from Arthas slaughtering footies to Arthas and Jaina dancing hit me like a sack of bricks to the chest.

Well they deserved all the bad critics, that's what happen when you care about the numbers and standardize game development...just to satisfy a statistic.
Winter's King I’m disappointed that they didn’t use the current voice actors or remaster the other cinematics.
She has magic enough for a of a goddess of ice...and yet, it doesn't matter, because it never matters. She's never won anything worth winning, never successfully protected something worth the effort of doing so. Every lover, friend, confidant is either dead or far worse. And with every failure she grows cold and tired. So very tired.
And yet she stood up again...
Apart from Kalecgos who she drove away with her rage.
That’s what happens when you put yourself dead last. Spend your life serving a cause at the expense of yourself, and you’ll end up alone, cold and tired.
@@sdtigerlily Funny thing is that the cause she fought might not have been worth it. For those kinds of folks, even if they perish the cause they stood up for is so great that even their deaths feel like something that had impact.
For Jaina, it was a sad story of play stupid games, win prizes not worth ot.
She's a failure to all, Arthas, Thrall, Varian. Lordaeron, Theramore, Aliance... or the Horde, she failed them all.

After watching the video, I feel a shiver...Everything was done so charmingly and atmospheric that I could feel her inner struggle with herself, the fear, the pain that Jaina felt. Superbly. I'm delighted.

The transition from Varian holding out his hand to stop Jaina then seeing Thrall and Muradin charge is one of the most epic things Ive ever seen.

Their love story gives me shivers. Arthas' story (and the book) are my favourite part of warcraft's history... REALLY SAD story for him and her. I had a hope for redemption for him and reunion with her, but... I tell you only that the lich king is dead and Warcraft died with him...😔

Arthas is my favorite character in wow, as a kid playing wc3 I looked up to him and his paladin values, then witnessing his fall trying to do the right thing. Its honestly a war crime the way blizzard handled him in shadowlands..

This was honestly beautiful even though you felt it was rushed. The song despite it being from GoT was extremely fitting. Also it warms my heart and also breaks it since you’ve perfectly captured Jaina and Arthas wonderfully. ❤️
I never played WoW, nor did I read any books. I had only played W3 when i was young and I always hated how Jaina left, so I just recently started looking into the Warcraft Lore, just to get my heart broken, seeing how Jaina and Arthas never were able to properly talk to each ever again... it was heartbreaking. + I got so disappointed how Bliizard or the book writer (idk?) decided go end their story in such a unsatisfying way. So this music video was the only redemption to this bitter love story. Thank you so much for this master piece!

Everyone always talks about Arthas story and how when it ended so to did Warcraft. But for me, the true masterpiece is and always has been Jainas story. It's always been there in the background and even if BFA did alot of things wrong, it finally gave some light to the story behind the scenes. The tragic events that have haunted Jaina would've broken anyone, but she has regained her posture and finally stands tall.
Compared to her Anduin is tame beyond belief, Should've been High Queen Jaina, she truly deserves the mantle. She has never waivered from her character and is by far the best character that Warcraft has right now.
This is amazing. I would love to see something like this done with Kael'thas and the fall of Quel'thalas. Thank you for such a touching machinima!

I remember reading the book and reading Jaina's conversation with another Mage about her story of Arthas. This reminds me of this, really well done.

It's very similar, actually. Except what Illidan says in the Demon Hunter class origin cinematic about the difference between him and the Burning Legion also applies to him vs Arthas. Arthas doomed his soul and his people to kill Mal'ganis. Illidan doomed himself to save his people. He knew his choice would drive him away from Tyrande, but he accepted that. Arthas died a traitor. Illidan lived as a tragic hero.
My only sympathy is for Jaina, who really loved Arthas, but was betrayed by him not once, but thrice. The first when he decided to end their engagement. The second when he purged Stratholme. The third when he came back from Northrend to destroy Lordaeron.
@@PedroHawk1 In Stratholme, Jaina betrayed Arthas, when he made a right decision to purge city before its citizens become danger for whole kingdom. Arthas was left alone by the ones who he had trusted the most, so the only thing that kept him alive was desire for revenge.

in spite of everything, the arthas will always be a great personage in spite of the anger, the revenge, the power and the Lich king that consumed him and turned him into a being of evil, he was a victim of this power and he himself and I I think it was not his fault, neither was it. his betrayal He only betrayed himself.
Technically in Warcraft III Arthas freed the blade from being frozen in ice and took an oath that he will accept the curse of the lich king for the power to save his people, but in the end the only way to save his people was for him to destroy the kingdom.
That said it kinda is his fault, because if not for his greed for power (like vergil in dmc) he wouldn't end up as the lich king in the first place and if it meant the doom of his people at least he'd die with his beloved instead of dying while fighting against her and the others.
Arthas knew that taking the curse as his new life was a double edged sword and in this case him ending up on the wrong edge.
So even if he he became evil he saved his kin from their deaths and even though he became a lich king he should have a monument, his statue and the only summary written that befits him

Jaina and Arthas story would be so damn great on the silver screen. A well written trilogy. Seeing Arthas become the villain is the kind of bittersweet ending I would love to watch. So many great stories in Warcaft.

This video is part of the game for me, preferably after the last battle against the Lich King somewhere in an Alliance tavern, late in the evening where all the important heroes are gathered to celebrate this great victory against the evil. Absolutely great video, who does not like it, is beyond help.

To be honest all I can say is "WOW". I'm amazed. The ending really did strike me heard, as she was reminiscing with the locket and the way the song matches her as a character. Well done!
I think Blizzard should add this kind of masterpieces into the Warcraft 3 Reforged and some place of the WoW.
there're many great stuff about warcraft and wow not made by Blizzard themself. But yeah, I agree more reputation/fame/money for works like these and its creators

At first I thought this was footage from Warcraft remastered....then I realized it was creator content. I am BEYOND impressed by what you have done here. And that song...OMG...THAT SONG!!!
Takes a lot to make a grown man tear up....but you almost got me there. And is it just me, but it almost gives the impression that Jaina and Varian are "together" at the end what with both of their weapons on the same weapon rack.

So much power, so much love and so much trsiteza. They became legendary characters, but deep down they were only people, who loved like the rest. But in the end, each one had to follow his own path, his destiny. And they finished apart. Jaina lived ... but her victory is as tragic as the death of Arthas.
Excellent video, from now on, I will follow your videos. You reflected very well the strength of the story of these two characters.
