I know this is old, but another reason the track pack gets 0.5 extra qts of oil is because it has a boss 302 oil cooler. Also has a boss 302 radiator, gt500 rear control arms, and upgraded springs and shocks. It has a torsen helical rear differential, and advance sport trac mode. I also had a water pump go out on mine and can confirm that the waterpumps are aluminum or metal compared to the plastic ones found on other models.
I have a 2014 mustang gt with the track pack, touch screen with navigation that bs. But it's got the 6 speed, brembo breaks, 5w50, oil, recaro seats. It just clicked over 280,000 miles today. Stock everything except. 1. The drive shaft a few suspension parts.. stock power train. Change yalls fluids, don't change it at the recommended 7,000 miles. Go for every 5k. With the Mt 82. I hear smooth is fast is smooth. Learn how your car likes to be drove and you shouldn't have any problems.
3:73 is a phenomenal rear end ratio for the Mustang. Mine is a 2013 Laguna Seca package. It has all the parts described in the video plus additional track specific items. But that gearing is the ticket.
1:27 is bad information. Having brembos is NOT a good way to determine if its a track pack or not. ANY mustang GT could be ordered with brembos. If you ordered the Track Pack then Brembos came no matter what. There are TONS of non-track pack brembo cars. Its the exact same for Recaros. ANY mustang GT could be ordred with cloth or leather Recaros. You could even order both, brembos and recaros on a NON track pack. Which most people would assume IS a track pack but is missing all the suspension/cooling stuff etc. Also the "track pack wheels" are brembo wheels. ANY car ordered with brembos has the brembo wheels wether its a track pack or not . They are specific to the brake package so they can clear the front calipers. Again TONS of Mustangs have these wheels and are NOT track packs. They just have the brembo brake option. Theres actually a perfect example in the comments. Theres a guy who said he has brembos and recaros but a standard 5w20 oil cap. His car is NOT a track pack but was ordered with the seats and brakes. Also. Dont get me started on the "track apps" display in the cluster. That has NOTHING to do with the track package. ALL premium mustangs got the gauge cluster with the screen in it and have track apps. You could order a track pack in base or premium.
Yes this is true. You can get a Brembos on a non track pack. But if you have the brakes it's not a track pack. I know I was a little misleading there. I apologize. I think you may be misinterpreted most of the info in this video. The video was about what you get with a track pack. Not saying you could not order these items as an option other mustangs. For example you do not get Recaros with the track pack. I do not have Recaros in there nor claim to have Recaros.
2014 Track Pack here.. IMO the 3.73 makes `1st gear almost useless.. it's a real quick shift. Also doesn't help the mirror vibe at 70 and 2nd gear lockout. Takes some parts to fix this.. One piece driveshaft, Hi Po Clutch, stainless steel clutch hose, and shifter (Not sure that helped much, went in with the clutch). Mostly fixed now w/3.73 gears. Still 1st is a very quick shift although 2nd gear lockout is very rare now. If I had to do it all over, I would of started with 3.55 rear gears.. might of fixed it all. Torsen has a slight whine now.. maybe a few too many clutch dumps? Lower/new gears will help/fix?
I have brembos, leather recaro seats 5w-20 cap but wondering what temp I should be running at on a hot day in normal traffic… mine also has the Laguna seca, gauges with coolant temp
@@WONDERBREAD89 yes you can. The track pack can be added to base models without the digital dash. There are also models with the digital dash and track apps that do not have the track pack.
You could easily have improved cooling efficiency enough with the simple edition of a quality Reline product, called water wetter. It makes a noticeable improvement in cooling efficiency, as it’s a heat transfer agent. Many people use it, including myself
so its the same motor, im surprised they call for 5w-50 when 5w-20 is stock, should i switch to 5w-30 if i run my car hard? 2012 mustang gt gen 1 coyote
Your owners manual will usually have a chart of different oils you can run depending on temperature outside. Usually the hotter it is outside and the harder you run it. The higher the viscosity you will want. Viscosity is not the only thing to worry about. You should run a better oil as well. Help prevent breakdown and protect your engine from the extra heat and stress when you're going hard.

Track pack doesn't come with a larger oil pan. It comes with a Boss 302 oil cooler. Thats where the extra quart of oil capacity comes from. But if your car is missing that as well it probably still isnt a track pack.
That's what I have (Brembos and the 3.73). It also has a factory muffler delete, but still has the resonators. It sounds incredible, but is slightly on the loud side. IMO, a "standard" GT is boring and the Brembos and 3.73 (or 3.55) is needed to wake it up and make it fun to drive.
2013 and 2014 Track Packs were only available for manual transmission car. Just double checked after reading your comment and I can't find anything that says anything different.
@@ghostlightning9434 Not sure. Not saying it is not possible for you to have one. Just everything I could find says it is only for manual transmissions. Which also doesn't mean you can't order all components for your car.
Your comment made me curious. I did a little googling and everything I can find said the track package was a new package introduced in 2010. I have not found any information saying otherwise. Thanks for the detailed explanation on the track package. There are so many different package and options for mustangs, it can get confusing sometimes
