I was a massive DuckTales(Picsou) fan when I was a kid. When I heard they were making a reboot I was skeptical. Then I saw the first episode. I can honestly say that this is the best way to remake a show. It's new yet retro, fresh yet nostalgic. The jokes are so clever(in exemple how they used marbles to escape the room in episode 01) By far one of the best TV show Disney produced.
Not ashamed to say I watched the whole thing eagerly, alone, in my thirties. The first season finale impressed me VERY MUCH, put together as well as a Pixar finale. Then the second season had The Moon as an action theme (not featured in this video)?! Third season might have generally overdone things but by then they had no choice, it was still great, and the ending is irreproachable.
Oh and "Picsou" indeed! I watched the new show in the original English, but I gave a listen to the French theme song, and they kept the same spotty translation and I love them for it. And the Moon lullaby is expertly translated, chef's kiss out of five.
"there's a good chance you know this song but this is the first time hearing it in context" how did he know! xD I was - not - expecing that second half, damn
Duck tales was one of my favorite shows growing up in the 90s and the NES game was an absolute classic. The moon theme is one of the greatest NES songs and it brings back so many good memories. Great video you earned a new viewer and sub!
single best BGM in perhaps all of gaming (although Corridors of Time has something to say about that). Def the best of the NES era. Wow I didn't realize it was even in the same key as the Ducktales theme. It conveys such joy! Have you heard Happy Cat Factory from Chip n Dale rescue rangers? That's another one of my nes favourites.
But did you watch the original cartoon during its initial airing? (I'm... slightly too young for that, I only caught reruns. And I thought the nephews were the main characters.)
@@NicD Yes...I can not emphasize in the age of game rentals how this song was passed around and was played by various NintendoCore bands. It is on the level of Mega Man 2 Wily Stage in its use.
I'm one of this guys who like the amazon music a little bit more than the moon theme *don't kill me please xD* but the moon theme is really magicial and I just love how many people know the melody, even if they never played the nes/gb version or the remaster version of it :) and yeah it is such a meme song, too xD But I didn't know they used it this much in the remake series of ducktales :o pretty cool thank you for this entertaining explanation! Your Channel is pure gold
Glad you enjoy! When I say "season 2 runs with it"... it uses The Moon as an ACTION THEME in the season finale, and they still haven't released a series soundtrack, so we can only half hear it over the sound effects.

omg have to watch that show now
esp since they incorporated the moon theme
That is super nifty! I never knew that they brought that song into the actual show.
I’m glad you gave everyone context, I don’t think it’s a very well known song

Ok can I just say what an amazing job they did with the lullaby lyrics? Syntax and cadence wise it fits PERFECTLy
Even in French! Passionate showrunners are INFECTIOUS.

As someone who played the game when it came out this made me feel really old.

YES
Great tune and I love the reboot! Very pleased with this feature. The memes though, hahaha
The lullaby always gets me!
