- After receiving numerous requests to see Optimus in action with his Highway Plow, I couldn't wait to dive into the snowy challenge. Admittedly, I may have jumped the gun a bit - should've had the breaker on first! But fear not, because I believe we're onto something extraordinary.
In this video, join me as we explore the incredible features of this powerhouse truck, boasting 6 motors, 4 transmissions, and a Smoke Kit that adds an extra layer of realism. Get the blades weighted and and may be a little more sharper edge, you'll be in business! I Gotta love Sir Optimus! LOL, he is another great one for the Cabin Fever Expo!
I'm impressed ! . I tried this as a kid with smaller RC trucks and had no luck. I couldn't get any traction from the 4x4 big brut I had . It was tons of fun trying though.
I think the highway plow needs a sharper edge, it looks like the edge folds under making a rounded edge. I know you use a winch to raise and lower the plow, but I have had pretty good luck using a servo with small scale shocks on it, to keep it from floating over the snow. Those tires chains look like the function really well.
I’ve always wanted to see an rc plow truck with the plow under mounted. I feel you’re the man creative enough to get it done.

That heavy wet snow can be a real pain to plow. But Optimus didn't seem to mind at all. Thanks for taking us along Medic. Cheers

If you spray a little wd40 or similar 3in1 oil on the blade it’ll help stop the snow from sticking to The blades buddy. Loving the content
Hey Medic! Nice try with the front slant plow but the V-plow with a little weight was getting it done! There's a guy in St Paul MN that's been working on 3D printing out Snowblowers last couple years and he just came out with a awesome up graded design with Brushless kit the name is (Spyker designs) I seen a couple videos on UA-cam looks very impressive!🤔 I love that Beast of a Truck!😉👍📹💯✔️👋👋👋

Add weight to those plows and grease them up. Grease em and heat em. Let em cool and repeat it a couple times. Snow will just fling off them snow blades. Like a seasoned cast iron pan.

Awesomeness my friend! Know the feeling have an Associated rally car that has so many grub screws in the driveline it's never ran down a full pack before it looses one and is only 2wd or 3wd!
I know the winch is probably the easier option especially since you mentioned the lack of channels left but why cant you run a servo with a link going to the blade instead? To raise and lower it, It would stop it from trying to float because itll be using the weight of the truck itself and it’ll be pushed down not using gravity. There may be reason for not doing that im assuming but im curious ahahah

have you seen the new snow blower for RC's? its epic and works so good, i wish i could afford to get back into thee hobby and get the blower, it would actually help with plowing my driveway instead of putting my already weak heart at risk.

4 or 6 way hydraulics on the plow would b awsome! That way you can power down on the blade. With all the heavy equipment you have,you probably have enough spare parts to do it!
you cant use hydraulic lines this small in the cold.. they freeze
@TheRealRCSparks what about using mineral spirits for fluid? It's what we use in hydraulic clutches on dirt bikes,atv's.much thinner and won't freeze.
@@darrinwoodward14 at a 2mm diameter, everything is very cold that thin.. with my experience, I wouldnt even attempt it.. because I could build a more reliable system that is mechanical

add a plow to the trailer also and use steering to swing widen plow width with the brine dispensed opposite side

That is the absolute worst type of snow to plow so Optimus actually did really well considering conditions.

What transmitter are you using for all the controls for the plow? I have a trx4 that I’m gonna put a plow on and got a plow that holds 2 servos so I can go up down and left right but just need the transmitter with a good amount of channels

Dude, if you look at plows on plow trucks the blade isn’t at an angle, it’s almost straight so it’s flat on the road. That makes it so your not collecting snow
All snowplows come differant depending the state/country. But most US. Plows are tilted forward and to the side. There is rubber on the bottom of the blade. We call it snow Blade.. i know because i cut there blades in proper size and standerds to fit.. the rubber blades do in fact touch the bottom of the ground..
