Pretty much exactly like that, in and outside of the space continuum and all dimensions uploading all possible abilities techniques and Flow and the capacity to improvise throughout multiple different styles with Grace and ease in the utmost of strong elegance..
Indeed. He's a generational talent, akin to "Buddy" or "Tony". Those one-name people who everyone knows when the word is spoken. Whenever my wife watches a "My Cousin Vinnie" re-run on TV, I think of this guy...
@@pputnam100 yeah, he was never known for latin playing but he can kill this style just the same. I think he has played every style under the sun, even metal!
Maaaaaaaan this guy... is just an amazing conversation from him.. He´s talking, laughing, yelling and also giving you the best advice WITH HIS DRUMS.. Amazing, just amazing!
After watching a performance like this and all of his other jazz / fusion stuff over the years, it's pretty awesome that he played on a Megadeth album (and absolutely killed it).
@@colinburroughs9871 Classical music is often elevator music too, so this is not really a comment from someone who pretend to know music. There’s bad and good music and this one has also the best drummer on earth. Period
Where's the one Vinnie!! He's lost the click! He's completely lost the click!! Haahaahaha! He didn't lose the click!! He is the click!!! Love you Vinnie, still the best!!
An incredibly rare moment of Vinnie losing track of the form and then forgetting the punctuation at the end. Kind of like watching MJ miss a layup. As we know, it happens to even the very best of the best. So grateful for all VC has given us!
I look at these legends and wonder where all their old drumsets go. What drives and inspires the evolution of their set up? Remember when Vinnie’s throne use to sit low to the floor.
I wish he was my dad; and I just whis-mically inherited the talent of the throne, and ruled the drum kingdom as well, or a close version, forever more! 😆✌️🥁
Where did you find this wonderful clip of Vinnie! Just amazing listening to him flow around the music! Beautiful man! Thanks! Is this a recent session? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Yes I have seen Vinnie miss a note just on that ending arrangement. Now I can rest in peace... LOL just kidding, the hole solo was amazing ( but he really missed that note haha)
Wtf you talking about???..I hear only Vinnie!! There is no Gadd other than that same ol’Gadd Ratamacue lick Vinnie throws in there!! I don’t know what latin Gadd influence you’re hearing or talking about, man!! In this tune there is a Samba Cruzado section and then a montuno section none of which sounds like what Gadd would play!!! He doesn’t need to copy anything Gadd does because every Gadd solo has been the same since 1970!!!! It’s all Colaiuta on this track and you should go back a listen more closely!!! There is NO Gadd influence in that track at all!! You need to listen more and comment, less!!!
It's like he went through the Matrix and learned to play every style of music on every level and can see all the notes coming at him in slow motion.
Very good analogy, he was even uploaded music and patterns not invented yet.
Pretty much exactly like that, in and outside of the space continuum and all dimensions uploading all possible abilities techniques and Flow and the capacity to improvise throughout multiple different styles with Grace and ease in the utmost of strong elegance..
LOL........ Exactamente!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's the intuition a musician is either born with or can never learn.
When he played with Holdsworth he sounded like he was using matrix skills. Some of that stuff is not human, no one else can play like that.
The man, the myth, the legend. Vinnie Colaiuta.
Vinnie's drumming vocabulary, taste, and dynamics are unbelievable; none better.
Well put.
Indeed. He's a generational talent, akin to "Buddy" or "Tony". Those one-name people who everyone knows when the word is spoken. Whenever my wife watches a "My Cousin Vinnie" re-run on TV, I think of this guy...
💯
the drummer's Drummer, ever and forever
My favorite, and yes, if not the greatest of all time, the greatest of his generation.
Awesome reading, playing and style interpretation.
That blistering hi hat rip is where things got serious.
Everything Vinnie plays on, he creates a masterpiece of feel, technical mastery and beautiful sound 🙏❤️
The master....I love that ride when he gets on it
Mamma mia Vinnie che SPETTACOLO
When one has impeccable taste, any style is home.
What can you say? The complete package...and then some. A combination of heart, soul, and technique. A master at his craft!
Got to hear Vinnie play live some years ago at the Baked Potato in LA. I was blown away by his musicality and incredible energy.
Always a pleasure to see the great masterr Vinnie Colaiuta at work! Here as a latin drummer!
During the song I started thinking Vinnie could really hit that MIchel Camillo trio gig. I never would have thought he could also play that stuff.
@@pputnam100 yeah, he was never known for latin playing but he can kill this style just the same. I think he has played every style under the sun, even metal!
Brilliant…it’s such a flow for him. Head to hands, it’s beautiful to watch and listen.
Absolute musical mastery of the instrument, the likes of which I don't think we will ever see again. What a time to be alive!

Amazing, not sure non drummers can understand how fucking cool Vinnie is! Peace from Detroit MI.
non-drummers are just impressed by fast single-stroke rolls.
That's a good point...
non drummers are probably noticing this is elevator musak first and foremost. I wish fusion was a bit more about a tune at times

Soooo musical...Soooo fluid...Soooo groovy...
Vinnie! What else? ;)
Phenomenal groove and licks...whilst improvising...whilst being recording...whilst playing to charts.
LOL spot on, the man is not human
Remember when he played with faith hill? He can do anything he wants with his talents.

Full of rubato, syncopation, some poly... he's phenomenal.
Nice....Gadd would also spice this latin groove!
There was a 10 minute video of this session circulating Facebook awhile ago.
Never seen it again since...
Shame I didn't download it at the time.
Vinnie C.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ................All I have to say!!!!!!! ......Huge inspiration to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Simply the best I love his groove and solo phrases throughout the piano montuno section! Brilliant playing!

What a master drummer. A living legend for sure! God bless Vinnie.

Another day in the office for Vinnie, a lifetime spent of me trying to dissect this solo.
Thanks for sharing..

what album is this from? VC killing it as usual.
Interesting I am the one who film this which was great but not sure how this got out.
