And remember, that we are speaking about those three world class giants- as you can easily hear here on this concert- at once! Listen to melody lines, phrases, articulation, rhythm feeling and musicality generally- not only to speed and technique! Listen a very carefully- what they are playing and how they are playing!

That’s a very pity, that absolutely nobody else (except me) discovered, how excellent is Joe de Francesco as a trumpet player! He is a world class trumpet player! I like him playing on the trumpet even more than him playing on keyboards! (He is really number one Hammond organ player on this planet- ever!)

Has anybody noticed that the start tempo and the ending tempo are almost identical? 30 minutes of the most unbelievable technique and polymetric "stuff", and the tempo has barely budged. Vinnie's time is not metronomic, in fact in his very early days he used to rush and drag quite a bit, but his sense of pulse and flow is second to none.

I'm completely speechless..........

I remember auditioning with Spur of the Moment for college back in 1990. Had the chart and the Profs didn't know who Weckl was at the time. I showed up with the chart, backing track and a lot of nerves but I was accepted.😊

The drumming in this video is world class, but whoever was working the lights had no idea who was taking the lead. The technical director also had little clue of who to put up on screen. The result was utter chaos and frustration for me. Grr!
