- I finally picked my Ponderosa lemon on the 2nd so I put this together to show the results of the harvest and how I processed the lemon for seeds and for juice. I got quite a few seeds out of the deal & have sent a few to friends. Got enough juice to make a pie as well!
Stick around to the end for a special surprise.
Amazing upload. Green green. Keep posting. Stay connected 👍👍
I do love those Ponderosa lemons. One lemon can make two pies!
She is a beauty. So exciting.
Thank you my friend. I got some seeds in dirt from it yesterday.
Northwest Florida native here, I love to grow Ponderosa Lemons. I have several different fruit trees but what joy it is to pick a giant lemon. Thank you for sharing your tips!
My last was 1 lb 10.5 oz and I used half the juice to bake a lemon meringue pie! They may be slow growing but they sure are worth the wait.
Hi, great info! Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day.👌stay😊😎👍connected😉😁👏
Welcome back my friend and thank you!
Wow.....big as a grapefruit!!!! I love lemon pie!
Thank you my new friend! I managed to turn it into a pie (my first pie) and it sure is good!
I tried ponderosa and Lisbon here in Louisiana. The only one that I can get to take is the Improved Meyer.
I had a Meyer lemon that couldn't handle my shady yard. Good juicer & I plan to get another when I can. I'm not sure how finicky the Ponderosa is but I've seen them mainly in Central & South Florida so far (though The Cajun Homesteader does have them growing where he is at).

WOW, that is one big lemon. That is a beautiful piece of fruit right there, enjoy.
Thank you my friend! I look forward to enjoying it thoroughly.
That's one big lemon. Amazing juicer.
It did turn out pretty impressive. I've never thought of Ponderosas as juicers, but they sure do make a nice pie! (Grand finale video coming soon).
@@geekygardens Ill be watching.
Beautiful Day .. we having great weather
That’s big nice looking lemon 🍋
What’s your opinion on growing this variety in Central Florida
Thank you my brother
Happy growing
Friend, it would grow better where you are than mine - I'd be jealous in no time! You're a couple hours south of me. Shoot me an addr via email & I'll send you some seeds. Would LOVE to see it growing as it should!
Geeky Gardens ok .. Thanks will send the info
That is a big lemon Jack, I hope your pie turns out well.
Thank you my friend. I've never made one before so I hope I can make it edible!
I've never seen a lemon that big.
They do get pretty big. And they make good pies too!
That is the coolest juicer I’ve ever seen! Lemon too lol ... 🤪 ... you should also make lemon extract from some of the leftover zest.
I did some research & found it was popular in the 1930's - "Juice Master Deluxe". I'm sure it's going to outlast me!
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you my friend.
Hi new subscriber! Hope to be YT friends. I've never seen a lemon that big before. Its gorgeous. Are those sorts of lemons tart or sweet? Love your lemon juicer😍
Welcome new friend. Ponderosa lemons don't do well as juicers but they make GREAT pies! My Mom used to make them & I'm just finishing edits on my first attempt at a Lemon Meringue pie. I DO like my old tools! Better than the new stuff & they'll be around longer than I will!
Oh, my research shows the juicer was popular in the 1930's & it will probably be working long after I'm gone.
@@geekygardens yes I do like your old tools. Dont see that sort of juicer everyday. Thanks for sharing.
It’s august 29 & mine is yellow at the top and mostly green but it’s big. Do I need to wait until February to pick this?? I’m in citrus county
Hi neighbor! I've always been a fan of letting them ripen fully on the tree when I can, though they do take a long time to grow. They can even stand a bit of frost like other citrus, but that is probably not something to worry about where you are.
Tree looks in bad shape
So true my friend. When I bought this place 30 years ago the tree was well established but in a corner that gets very little sun. I considered trying to move it but felt I would probably just kill it, so instead I started collecting seeds and growing new lemon trees that I could plant in better locations.
