    I noticed on Amazon that there are a lot of idiots who buy the Mora 511 Carbon Steel knife and then call it crap because they are too stupid to take care of it and it rusts after the first use. My friend just got one of these and I like it a lot. Going to have to get myself one soon!

    I seriously wish Mora would make a version of this with a straight scandi grind from tip to handle. It not only looks more traditional, it retains one of the grinds biggest attributes, a built in sharpening guide which allows entry level knife owners to keep and maintain a razor sharp edge on their "Puukko". Guaranteed it would outsell this dual grind version around same rate plain edge knives outsell their 50/50 serrated counterparts.

    When you review work knives and edc blades it would be great to see you test it on fabric such as carpet, nylon or rubber to see how it preforms to daily construction/carpentry work. That being said you definitely put it through a proper hard test, great review, as always!

  • @mikkowus
    @mikkowus 6 місяців тому

    Got the regular one. What I noticed is that the curved edge is really what makes it good at making feather sticks. On a normal knife, the part right next to your hand is straight so doesn't dig in very well. The steel is really soft so I got a lot of chips and it dulled pretty quick. The back side dulled pretty quick using a ferro rod too. If they upgraded the steel, it would be amazing. I wish they also made a version of this around 3" as well. I would use it as a super compact light weigh more all purpose knife that I could leave in my bag. I have a companion and classic etc. The companion is too big, and the handle on the 3" companion is too small and too dangerous.

  • @MasterK9Trainer
    @MasterK9Trainer 6 років тому

    I guess your knives need to almost wreck themselves to check themselves for durability and edge retention. :) I fear the handle may still be too short for my hand, but I like it for carrying around as it looks rather cute and so non-offensive and non-tactical.
    I find the Gerber Scout Folder or the Schrade SCHF14 comfortable and use them to judge handle length. I do own the CRKT Minimalist which definitely feels too short although the little braided fob helps, I wish the handle was a bit longer.

  • @Traderjoe

    Why is this like $25 when the bigger, more versatile Companion, with the same materials, is half the price? Makes no sense. I mean sure, it's fine for neck carry, but is the option to use it as a neck knife rather than just wearing it on your belt really worth getting this over, say, 2 Companions?

    • @WeAllJuggleKnives
      @WeAllJuggleKnives  7 років тому

      I would say it is because most people who wanted to buy a Companion have already bought one, but since this is new, most people who want one still need to buy one and so will be willing to pay more if they have to.

    • @DShiflet01
      @DShiflet01 7 років тому

      Mora Companion is a huge seller(so high demand), and is plentiful supply. The Eldris is very popular(so high demand) and also is in plentiful supply. So, "supply and demand"?

    • @eric6640
      @eric6640 7 років тому

      The Eldris is nowhere near as popular as the Companion.

    • @jgreystoke
      @jgreystoke 7 років тому

      +DShiflet01 The eldris has two extra grinds on the blade, the forward profile grind, and the flat grind on the spine for ferro-rod(back up to your striker of course), and for shavings. That's two extra machine operations after the initial stamping out(The Companion has the spine left unfinished to save manufacturing cost and give you a very inexpensive, and still great, knife)The tang is more substantial(believe it or not, check out Morakniv website), and complex. I'm sure they've already sold millions of companions(I have one for years), so there is the economy of scale vs a new product(whose price will drop over time). So it is more expensive for a good reason. I do go on, lol. Stay safe.

    I especially likevhow you "abuse" the knife and do stuff "knives arent meant for..." lol. Anything to piss off knife nazis or axholes as I call them because they are usually ax nuts that still think knives have the very limited use of strictly cutting.
