I wrapped my sheath with a strip of nylon webbing and used gorilla or super glue to set it with a metal belt clip . There is no drilling needed brother it's very easy and cheap to do. I was concerned about it maybe not staying on but heck no that webbing and plastic became one. You can find that nylon webbing at every hardware store and buy it by the foot for penny's . I used the military green but they have all colors so those who want color it's perfect. I love the Eldris but man they over price that little thing considering I can buy their robust heavy duty for $13 more steel more sheath yet cheaper??? That's the only thing that bugs me with Mora , they price things by popularity it's annoying .

I live in the outer banks and everyone thinks it's a whistle or boat key or whatever . Thanks for this tip, I have a drawer of the spyderco clips . Heading to the work shop now . I think sometimes some of the viewers and myself included forget that you do what you do commercially. The same tool or implement we use 3 or 4 times a season, you use 10 times a day depending on who and how many have hired you for a trip. The same holds true with cost effectiveness. You run a business , this is how you pay your bills. Is it nice to have the 8 strand power pro braid? sure it is. When I am holding it in my hand. Not so much if I have to replace 800 yards of it because the persons who hired me was not so experienced and turned it into a birds nest. I think you run a great channel Capt Dave. And I know you love what you do. Being a commercial fisherman is one of those things you have to take on wholeheartedly or your just not going to do it. We appreciate the info you share and sometimes we like to return it by sharing little bits and pieces with you and other viewers. I think that sharing of info part is one of the few things of old school thinking we have left. Thank you and keep the great videos coming.

Hey capt Dave, I know you are done with braid scissors but some info for perhaps some of your viewer if they are not. Fiskars kids scissors with the blunted tip about 3 bucks on ebay they cut and cut and cut braid like you wouldn't believe. If im on the boat and need to tie braid, I use a knife too. If im home I use the berkley thermal braid cutter. The only reason I like the thermal cutter is it sears the braid closed so it dosen't unravel like braid will do. Thermal cutter is about 12 bucks on ebay and it works well. Its just a little neater and like I said it sears the braid, just like when you buy a piece of rope.

Hey capt. Have you ever tried Cast King braid? I get 1000 yards under $40 depending on 6 or 8 strand 20lb to 150lb. I use it on all of my rods. Holds up really good. They got different colors.

Dave how did those Japanese knives work for you? I bought a set of hand made knives. And they are sharp and stay sharp. The fillet knife takes some getting used to its thick. But I use the shit out of the kitchen knives. However they where expensive.

Dude check out harber freight small wire cutter they kinda look like pruning scissors. For 5 bucks they r built tough stainless steel an will cut through anything. I carry them in all my packs and more. Look them up do a review on them I would luv to see that .spider 14.ps.if u grab that little gem by the case and pull it out works great.i also purchased a spider clip.hinse the name spider 14.well anyway I put it together a frickin luv it.im getting a few more.😁

yes, that spool wasn't even $20....kast king doesn't make big spools of black. plus its all the same. I could buy 8 strand ez.
