Great video. Exactly what i was looking for
This exactly what I was looking for thanks
I recommend leaving it in the foundation. I had a stable undervoltage. 9 hours under load and the games still crashed. I tried increasing the voltage and decreasing the frequency and it still failed.
Bro, in the next tests, show the temperature of the video card memory, please, this is a very important parameter 🙏
some of these don't make sense, I think you are not applying the settings correctly😂😂
Ya there are a few instances in the vid where undervolting caused the thing have a higher FPS and draw more power...? what
the Division 2!!! thanks!
I have an rtx 3080 eagle oc and I want to use the core voltage slide in msi afterburner but still affraid. Should I max it out like you did?
I ended up leaving the card in the base, because it seemed to me that it only behaved correctly in some games and it affected the undervoltage and graphics drivers.
@@-Rizecek- you mean turning that core voltage slide back to zero?
@@tonhuytran
Leave the card in the base if you have it overclocked. My friend has a 3080 Ti FTW3 and it always has about 10-15fps more, but 80-100w more consumption. To cool it down to 75 degrees, he has to use 80% fan speed. He himself has already admitted that he did something stupid and didn't take one that I have. My card does use lower core clocks, but at least it can be reasonably cooled at reasonable speeds. I don't go over 65 degrees at 2450rpm and I had it overclocked in the summer and didn't go past 73.
can this be apply PALiT RTX 3080 GamingPro 12GB model ?
In my case I got much less power usage 167W without a curve optimization. Core +100, memory +700, power limit 45. Core boost is less, but fps is same, power usage is around 100W less.
this is what i was looking for
You're not lowering the voltage that way though which is the whole point of undervolting. It'll run cooler which makes it faster, so I think you're missing out.
@@pf100andahalf It depends on resolution, videocard and game. Some times I have to increase PL up to 60 for FHD and higher for 4k. My card is flashed with suprim bios, so I have bigger area to play with unlocked PL and hungry consumption. Best regards.
Course yes.
About 7-10 more fps between stock and OC, its nice.
That's weird, there are a few instances in the vid where undervolting caused the thing have a higher FPS and draw more power as well.
wtf
Hi i recently got an RTX 3080 ti trinity OC. Does that mean that my gpu is already overclocked or do i have to do something to overclock it.
A card like yours will have a mild over clock over a FE model. It's not generally the max for your card, but one they can guarantee every card in that SKU to be able to meet. Sometimes on rare occasions you'll find no headroom in your specific card, and sometimes you'll find a decent increase. Be aware that you'll be bumping into power limits, and also make sure you have an adequate PSU since the transient spikes can become too much for your PSU.
OC models usually differ from others in the range of around 50-80mhz, but it is not the maximum. However, if you plan to overclock it, you will get perhaps 10-15 fps more than the basic models, but also easily 100W. I bought this model mainly because it would cool me down to a reasonable temperature. I don't care if the graphics core runs at 1800MHz or 1950mhz. The 120-150mhz doesn't seem reasonable to me for the extra 100W of consumption.
@@-Rizecek- Yeah, it’s not. 3080 cards are absolutely meant to be undervolted.
this card let you oc memory most than core i leave core 100 110 o rmore gets unstable for me

I really don't know. The undervolting is strange, because I think that not every version of the drivers understands it.

Thanks for making this video my spec low than you so my 650w 80+ gold should be fine with 3080 by Undervolt 🙏
Yes, but it behaves strangely. Undervolting was stable for 9 hours, but sometimes things went wrong in games where the game kept crashing. I tried increasing the voltage and decreasing the frequency and same problem. I had a similar problem with the 3070 and ended up leaving it in the base. My 3080 is overclocked and I left it that way.
@@-Rizecek- Noted.
@@-Rizecek- ? it was not stable but you let your tutorial online?` lol
@@teLmi For stability testing, I used Unigine heaven in which it ran stably for 5 hours.

@@-Rizecek- :/ Thank for answer i doing undervolt now around 75-77

Do you have same model?
Ohh so overclocking was never worth it
6-10fps in most games and even 15 fps in some, using the same card not worth it for you? Very weird.
Anyone else consistently over 2ghz? Strix 3080 12gb here. I average 2075mhz in game.
Over 2100mhz on my 3080 vision, must be lucky
@@RabbitAndBush same here. 2100mhz. 3080ti performance 😂🎉😂
It's a shame, in my opinion, that the RTX 3080 has very little overclock potential and must be limited by the TDP limit.
I own an RTX 2080 Ti that I've watercooled and I've changed the GPU bios to unlock voltage and unlock TDP.
At the moment, my record on the same benchmark as yours is 18,253.
Graphics score
19 257
Physics score
24 598
Combined score
10 268
I realize that my 5600x processor is more efficient than your processor and that this compensates, but it means that my rtx 2080 TI goes from a power equivalent to the rtx 3070 to the power of an RTX 3070 Ti extreme OC, so not far below your 3080 stock...
in my case, I gain 2002 points over the average score thanks to the oveclock.
whereas with the 3080 you gain 295 points, at this point either you haven't raised the TDP to Max, or the TDP of your graphics card is pretty damn limited in which case wouldn't it be possible to change your gpu bios for an equivalent gpu bios with a higher tdp?
Because if not, I don't see the point of overclocking your gpu if it's to get the same performance as an undervolt and consume 50w more power.
It's about which model you choose.
If you wanted a stable 1950Mhz on rtx 3080, then that card has a consumption of 400W
@@-Rizecek- but 1950mhz is slow for rtx 3000 series
I Can UP to 2200mhz on directx11 (your benchmark) and i go UP max 2160mhz on directx12 (stable of course) with my rtx 2080ti, i have a good rtx 2080ti yes but not the best you understand ?
@@KroZen. I also had a GTX 1080 at 2070mhz, and the 3080 falls below 1780mhz, but still has 40-50% more power. How do you think the following cards will turn out? Rtx 4000 can be overclocked because it is a new architecture, which does not have such a high consumption. Rtx 5000 will increase the frequency and the consumption will be high again. Rtx 6000 will run at max 2800mhz, but it will have 1x the power of 4000 at 3ghz.
@@-Rizecek- You're speculating, because in reality, every generation of graphics card has always been upgradable in terms of frequency.
From one generation to the next, the frequency either improves or remains at the same level as before.
I know Nvidia cards pretty well since the GTX 600/700 series.
Only AMD manages to change frequency because they have trouble finding something that works for a long time, R9 series, RX, Vega, RX again.
Even Nvidia, which switched from GTX to RTX, managed to stick to the same logic.
GTX 660 1000mhz~
GTX 750 ti 1300mhz~
GTX 960 1480-1500Mhz~
GTX1070-GTX 1080TI 2000-2070Mhz~
RTX 2080 TI 2115-2160mhz~ (2200mhz D311)
RTX 3080 2160-2200mhz~
RTX 4070 3034-3150Mhz~
So, as you can see, nvidia's frequencies are constantly evolving. It's true that with the 3000 series, they've improved other things besides frequency, but that's all.
I've got the world record on TIME SPY EXTREME with the 5600x and RTX 2080TI
The world's 1st with the same cpu but a 3080, it runs exactly at the same frequency as my GPU, or even a tad higher.
he has an Asus ROG with 3x8 pins, so a much higher TDP than yours, as you'll have gathered.
That's why I asked you to see if you could change your gpu's bios to one compatible with a higher TDP.
@@KroZen.
I wonder where you got those frequencies, but so be it.
And also, I've had enough cards and generations from Nvidia, and I know exactly where the next generations will go.
RTX 4000 will have higher clocks and consumption and then there will be a moment where 500-700W cards will come thanks to the 12WPVHR power supply or whatever their new crap is called.
This is the end of the discussion, I don't enjoy dealing with such crap here.
