  • Still having some fun with these markers from the last drawing video.
    Looking at the back of the paper after the drawing to see what seeped through is always an interesting surprise.

    Hey Peter, I’ve been watching you since I was 13 yrs old, I’m 21 now and do art full time. I just wanted to express how much of a hand you had in making me the man I am today. You’ve unknowingly shaped my desire to become an artist, and a good human. Thank you, Peter. Also interesting line results, I will be referencing these scientific findings for future drawings

    I've also always made art just for fun, to make something that looks cool, never really gave much thought to deeper meanings until i took classes and spoke with fellow students. So cool how the world of art has so many different people in it, and they all have different reasons to make their art. We are all connected by the process of creation, but the meanings are where our voices shine, even if it is just to make something that looks cool!

    The way you drew these drawings was inspiring to me. These three drawings are interesting. I like how the little strokes overlap each other and accumulate while simultaneously provide detail. The aesthetic is very organic. Keep up the good work.

    8:35 Those Flowers are called daffodils. They may look like tasty fired eggs but please do not eat them, they are poisonous. Not deadly poisonous (to humans) but bad enough that you will have a very unpleasent after noon. They smell lovely though

    Thanks for getting back to me on the line poll. I was wondering how it would come out. There is plenty of solid information to work with in my ongoing study of understanding the psyche as used by artists in producing things.

    ALSO I was fortunate enough to have a sculpture professor who allowed me to do conceptual performance art. Not the usual at all. But I did some of the media assignments as well and enjoyed the process. One physical sculpture was titled "Monthly Presents" and featured a stack of wrapped "gifts" that any woman would recognize -- seriously messed with the heads of the men in the class during critiques. My best performance piece featured a recording of me reading about historic Chinese foot binding while I washed volunteer classmate's feet. I share this because sculpture can be more cerebral in some way due to the 3D which eclipses the other parts of experience -- emotional, psychological, subconscious, and even personal.

    Sculptures are difficult just because of what you said... so many steps and so many ways to do it the way you envision it. That said, it is fun to do. Loved today's video. Sometimes quizes with no real purpose are interesting. Have a great week! Don't party tooo hard. LOL!

    I have trouble "finishing" a piece... I get caught up in trying to force a narrative and or "message" onto them and forget just to have fun like I used to. It's become my job/profession, so I feel like showing anything "less" than perfect is going to give the wrong impression of my actual professional skills. I know I'm overthinking, but I can't shake it...

    May I suggest a different homage drawing to each of the winning lines? Perhaps the overall shape or something framing the line? Or just giving each line a personality that embodies the energy of that line? While something that celebrates the numbers may seems a little too literal... but maybe that's the point?

    Always notice 10:03 at the clock, YT videos and the microwave. That's my birthday. 10 the day and 03 the month (the order the date is noted in the Netherlands). Order of numbers are really interesting. Some are comfortable and some don't.

    You should do another line quiz and also include the first one again to compare . It would be interesting to see if someone voted one way in the first, if that made someone more likely to prefer a certain set in a second one.

    The thing you mentioned about 11:34 is a weird synchronicity for me. I’ve been seeing it so often, just looking at the clock and there it is. But I’ve also been seeing a lot of 14 and 4s and 1s combined. So one of my theories is that 11:34 is simply a beginning to 01134, and the universe is merely saying hi.

    Hullo Peter, I am not sure if this was a real world test for drawings or just how people were feeling at the time of your video! I encourage you to create drawings and videos that bring you the most joy! I do enjoy it when you bring a little color into your work. Thanks! I do wonder if you would ever give watercolor paints a real try? I would even be willing to send you a set of paints in a palette, Just make it known and I will contact you through you e-mail. I do enjoy watching your videos and would like to see what you would do with watercolor paints! Perhaps I have missed you in a previous video? Please tell me that too. (BOY I FEEL DUMB!! I did search you and watercolors and I did find a few videos that it looks like I watched! I just did not remember them) Please take care and have a lovely day!

    All my sculpture was based on visual or verbal puns. My photomontage tended to be political. Interesting to reflect there was that clear division in my artwork. Although perhaps the piece 'The Violence Inherent In The System', made up of violets and herring in a cistern, spanned both 😂

    Glad to have you in a video, Peter, ( drawing and talking), as I have had a somewhat weird day? It is just comforting on a otherwise quiet day?
    Ceramics idea. I was actually thinking of you yesterday in regards to creating ceramic pieces. I have seen some watercolor artists on Instagram that have some uber cool handmade paint pallets. I have also located some UA-cam videos on making the air dry ceramic paint pallets. I was just going to throw this to you as maybe another idea format for items to create?
    Loved how you got back to us on the "lines" survey you took a few months back. I was in the majority all 4 questions. Interesting. (lols).
    In addition, I hope you find some pie soon? Oh, and if this has typos, it is because I am typing from my cell phone!?

    It's tough to get much out of the data since you didn't ask WHY people chose how they did.
    For example, you might be tempted to infer that people liked #2 in A because it was the medium length, but you have no reason to make that inference. I chose #2 because #1 was much too short to have value on it's own and #3 had a careless curve at the end. #2 was reasonably straight and had an aesthetic appeal over the other two choices.
    In section C, I chose #2 because #1 seemed inconsistent; curves with angles, big with small. Not great. #3 again was sloppy. A straight horizontal and then a sloppy wavy vertical. Nope. #2 Had a really pleasing, organic pattern in front followed by a straight, tapering baseline.
    You see, there could be all kinds of reasons for people's selections, and without parsing all of THAT data, you'd be shooting in the dark if you were to base a drawing on your current results.

    • @peter_draws
      @peter_draws  3 місяці тому

      Yeah true, some people did put their reasoning in their comments which was very interesting to read, but I think including that was outside the scope of my excel spreadsheet. Including people’s reasons for their choices in the research would be a much larger project and would also require a lot more of that information, since only like 10 people included it.

    • @basildraws
      @basildraws 3 місяці тому

      @@peter_draws Oh absolutely. Understood 100%. That's always the problem with surveys, polls, voting, etc. There's a canyon of context between the questioner and respondent that's virtually impossible to gulf.
      Love your drawrings. :)
