    You guys are the only manufacturer smart enough to not follow the “milspec” hype
    1:8 is the best possible twist rate period, only thing 1:7 does better than 1:8 is m856 and 90+ grain competition rounds that don’t fit in mags
    I own 5 gunner barrels of different length and they are great
    Keep up with the great work faxon

    Bought the gunner a few years back for my WWSD inspired build. I decided on Gunner because I have a 762SD suppressor and wanted the slight extra thickness to reduce sag when that heavy of a suppressor is on it.

    I picked up the 12.5" version, and it's great, although I have one complaint. Please dimple them, as buying a jig and proper carbide spade bit adds quite a bit of unexpected cost on the customer when it could be far more economical to do it in-house and charge $5 more or something. The block isn't very secure with just a pin, it rocks side to side.

However graphics would have added a home run. Thanks for providing the free information about your products. For me, everything comes down to cost.

    One thing I noticed with Gunner barrel with these loads. LC Brass, 40.2gr H-4895, 168gr HPBT, and Winchester primers. These loads run fine in my M1A, and my AR-10 with a 20" Bear Creek barrel. However, my 18" Faxon Gunner barrel causes neck splitting from overpressure. Even my friends identical 18" gunner barrel splits the necks of these loads, (different BCG's). I can only surmise that the 18" Gunner barrel has a tighter chamber spec, causing higher spikes in pressure.

    How many rounds in rapid succession before accuracy starts getting affected?

    • @reignick1133
      @reignick1133 3 роки тому +4

      Depends mostly on the propellant load and the rigidity of the barrel. For a Faxon pencil barrel? 1 mag ( 30 rounds) in the span of a minute will be enough to heat saturate that barrel. Your group will open up a little but your point of aim point of impact should not change.
      Super OVERLY simplified TO A DISGUSTING DEGREE: If your Faxon pencil barreled AR-15 is shooting Cold Bore say M.O.A.? after that full mag expect closer to 1.5-2.0 M.O.A. Still more than acceptable for mid-range engagement and generally faires better than the majority of USGI barrels. Remember the acceptable accuracy for an M4A1 hovers around 4 M.O.A. According to the US GOV.
      The subject at hand is FAR deeper and more complex than that, For example: I have seen SEVERAL Faxon pencil barrel equipped rifles shoot sub-M.O.A. and some even shoot *Sub Quarter M.O.A. from a Cold Bore.* There are a LOT of variables here at play. Projectile length/mass, propellant load, barrel twist rate, projectile shape, crimp, the build of the rifle, Ambient temperature, elevation, angle, and humidity, and most importantly? : *The man behind the rifle.*

      @cymond 2 роки тому +1
