    My friends dad used to get up every Saturday morning and drink beer while mowing the lawn shirtless at 8am while blasting lynyrd synyrd on the radio. Bless his soul.

Dad wasn't as bad, but my mum always used to complain about me not offering to cook or paint, etc. Start doing it, and she'd be on my arse and then takeover anyway. I hated it.     I am a Chicano from CA, my dad was an old school workhorse perfectionist. He passed in November, the most painful thing I have ever felt in my life. When I watch your Dad Shorts, especially changing the oil or going to the hardware store it's as if I am watching my pops again. You are hilarious and do a fantastic job, thank you. Keep up the quality work.

      My heart goes out to you. My dad was a lot like this when he was home from offshore when I was a kid, and he passed 21 years ago when I was 14. Still hurts, and certain things will trigger grief still, but it does get easier to cope with in time.
      Got a son of my own now, and I’m slowly becoming him and this guy. It’s almost like he’s here again.

      I'm so sorry for your loss. My pops passed 10 years ago.
      I moved to Japan from Los Angeles and I've seen Japanese people dressed up in Mexican old school gangsta clothes. They had Ben Davis and dickies, make up all dark lipstick and light foundation.
      They sport low riders and everything. When I heard them say "ehola" I was shocked but oddly felt comfort.

      The ones that didn't were Soldiers, quarrymen, and artisans, and even they sometimes lived where they worked.

      Definitely some parent vibe there. Be as loud as you can doing the dishes. To let everyone know it is that is doing the dishes.
      Then be like, You're welcome after doing the dishes, and waking everyone up.
      I wouldn't mind it. Yet my mom makes a massive mess in the sink anytime she cooks. She can use 12 things just cooking instant oatmeal somehow and doesn't clean as she goes.

    I loved the sound of waking up to the lawn mower running as a kid. I’d always rush to throw on a pair of jeans so I could help dad out. We’d end up sleeping thru the second half of the 3pm football game and wake up just in time for Sunday night football

      Omg same! My brother hated outdoor work. But I always it exciting for me to help Dad no matter what he was working on. He stayed teaching me to use the lawn mower at 8 and I always loved it up until recently. (Tiny yard that's barely worth the time it takes and working 6 days a week.)

      I never was able to sleep as much as I wanted because I was a school-hating night owl. I am NOT about to get up in the morning on a weekend lol. Half the time I did anyway because I would spend the night at my friend's house.

    As far as I’m concerned, that man has gotten up at 4 a.m everyday for the past 20 years so he could afford to buy me food and pay for my college. He can be as loud as he wants to be on Saturday morning 😂

    My dad's neighbor doesn't mow his own lawn, knowing my dad will do it for him. Very irritating, since my father is 85.

    Dad would get up around 4AM many days, I'd be up reading late until about 3AM. He was quiet in the mornings though. And the hours worked pretty good. He'd do chores on the farm until mid morning, then I'd spell him and he could get a good break for a few hours. Then he'd spell me and I'd get a break. And then I'd take over again until work was done for the day. That was many years ago now and Dad's been gone for ~15 years and Mom for ~10. I sure do miss them, those were good years.
