I'm getting started on my first build with an 80 gal air compressor tank. this is by far the best design I've seen so far. Watching this over and over trying to pick up some tips
Dude!!! Great choice of background music!!! I am a huge fan of Stick Figure!!! Seen them live at my first music fest ive ever attended. Amazing people!!
New subscriber here. Found your vids few days ago. Thank you for providing such content. I really want to make a smoker in the future. I m new to this bbq concept and I m fascinated by it. Been in Greece I m not familiarized with smokers but the meat results are amazing. I got a few questions... If anyone could help I would much appreciate it. 1. The bottom meat rack usually sits in the middle of the smoke chamber? 2. How big should the smoke chamber be to accommodate a 2nd meat rack on top of the main bottom one? 3. The smoke outlet needs to be half below the main meat rack half above it? 4. How high should the smoke stack (I think that's how it's called?where the smoke comes out) be for the whole smoker to work properly? Is there a ratio depending on the volume /length /size of the smoker? 5. How do you calculate or better yet where do you situate the hole of the wood chamber when connecting it to the main body? I hope my English is understandable since it's not my mother tongue. Forgive me if I didn't get the terminology correct.
Agree. Those 1000 gallon smokers are overkill. Specialty events only that are rare for most all. A fryer chicken or two for a 5+ family is easily accommodated with this size smoker or less.
How’s it going. So I would go about 2-3” away from the seams on each side. And welders are kind of a preference thing. I happen to use a snap on welder. But there’s so many out there nowadays and you can find one that won’t break the Bank if you know what I mean lol.
Daft question, could you spray paint the fire box? So you could get your favourite team sprayed on it. Keep up the amazing work fella, you must be so proud with what you produce sir
Hola amigo. Dónde se pueden conseguir planos de como fabricar uno de estos.soy de chile. aquí recién se está conociendo estos ahumadores y quiero fabricar el mio.
How important is it to insulate the box? We live Louisiana and it doesn't get super cold in the winter or fall. I know it helps the efficiency but what other benefits?
Awesome build. Like how you went with a large firebox and collector stack. I see builds were they go too small. What kind of welder do you use? Keep up the good work. I've just started a 120 gallon build!
Could wrinke spray paint a smoker? I know that it only protects up to 350 degrees but I like the wrinkle look.it can give it a powder coat look.i wonder if you can paint it with the high temp paint first that protects up to 2000 degrees. And then hit it with a 350 degree wrinkle paint on top. Do you think that would work? I'm working on a 130 gallon offset.

I like the fire door latch good idea just use the weight to keep it in the notch. Also handle towards center of mass less to catch things on.

Is that the original paint, how does it stand up to the heat?
Any cons on insulating the firebox completely? I’ve heard it’s tough to cool down if your pit heats up too much in summer in a hot place

how do you determine the fire box size?
