Looks like LeBron has learned from the disastrous Westbrook trade. The Lakers don't need a 3rd star. What the Lakers need is true depth and role players who are two-way players with size, consistency, and toughness to win championships.
You dont necessarily need 3 SUPERSTARS but that third option needs to be All Star level

Would it be bad to trade Dlo and Rui for depth. Vincent, Reaves, Vando,Lebron,AD with Max and other two ways. Player and a legit back up center of the bench seems like the right move.

@@Cashinn_Outt1754 Reaves just needs to be told he is the third guy. Rather starter or six man he hasn’t really been given a fair shake. Dlo was chosen as the third man and stole shots and the ball away from Reaves. But putting two way players next to him Lebron and AD would really allow him to shine. Have help covering his defense weaknessess. But allowing him floor spacing on offense to drive and kick plus get to the free throw line. Plus him and Max are young so they can continue to grow with AD post Lebron.

I’m starting to get onboard with the idea of JJ as the head coach. I still think a more steady hand with coaching experience would be the better path, maybe with JJ as an assistant… but dude is showing he knows ball and looks at numbers rather than coaching on vibes (Darvin Ham)
As much as i would love JJ as a assistant coach, it’s not happening. From a career standpoint he’s making more being an analyst and on yt than he would as an assistant. Not to mention its a harder job too

Refs and Pacers themselfs ruined it for the pacers. And on that sequence, Siakam was to close, needed to give space to make the jump when Brown went for the shot. Being to close Brown could easily jump over him and make the jump in an open spot above Siakam as he hadnt time to respond by being to close.
We knew this since 2020 duh we retooled for no reason and got westbrook and now we still feeling it cuz vando got injured we should get new guys period they not good enough anymore

I been saying this for 3 yrs. The reason y LeBron is the GOAT to me is because he has played against more talented benches then Jordan. It's absolutely tru. And we have proof from the Lakers previous version, Brooklyn and now Phoenix ... That the 3 star model is simply not going to work esp if it compromises your ability to build a roster around the 3 with the new cap rules....
Only a foolish front office will pursue the 3 star model esp if those are 3 max contracts.... On the other hand if a 3rd star emerges from the draft pick even as a rookie.... Which is very rare... Then the team could get lucky.. Like the Thunder

When he says 'role' players, he means those who know that they MUST SACRIFICE their own skills so that HE looks like the Superstar he thinks he is. His role is to be the FOCUS, and everyone else must play extra hard on Defense to make up for his absence in the front court.
Failing badly the last 4 years huh? 2020 was in the last 4 years. When he says role players he means dudes like caruso, kcp, rondo, mcgee, dwight, kuzma, green, morris, and bradley. All these dudes were great role players for LA. Before you freakout and tell me how the bubble doesn't count. The Lakers were the 1 seed before any of that went down.

Lakers need to do what in the franchises best interest. Not necessarily what's in Lebrons best interest. What I mean is long term plans, not short sided plans
JJ Redick/ Sam Cassell are the coaches of the Lakers, they are more knowledgeable of the game than any of the current candidates that have been considered. They are your coach that will take the team far into the future as well as a minimal contract initially. They will manage the locker room along with input from veterans LeBron and AD; they are players coachs and understands the needs of there coaching staff. We need two real bigs, Valanciunas/Drumond/Dwight ( ie 2020 chip) along side AD, we need a six man, Dramond/Bobby Portes etc. We need a two way guard to manage Jamall Murry and Anthony Edwards.... Demar/Donavan/Caruso/Keli Ubrea/Marcus Smart/JaMonte Murray/Brogden/Gary Trent . We have the assets, the picks and the money to make this happen. Doc Rivers, Ty Lou, , Chauncey Billups had no direct coaching experience other than one of many assistant

I've been saying this for years. Just look at the past Lakers line ups. D Fish and big shot Bob and pretty boy Fox and G Rice and AC Green and B Shaw and Michael Cooper and Jamal Wilks and the list goes on. Depth has always been the key to winning. If Shaq and Kobe were defended they could always kick it to D Fish and the majority of the time he would knock down the shot. If LBJ or Davis kicks it out today your lucky of AR15 or D Lo knocks it down 50% of the time. I'll take depth over stars any day of the week.....

Lebron one of the smartest to play the game. Lakers building out the roster with solid role players and not a 3rd star is a direct message to Lakers front office. Bron like his teammates but making the team better around the edges is essentially all him and AD needs to make the final push.

Lebron and JJ are completely clueless when it comes to team building. The top teams in the NBA now were built over time through the draft, trades ans free agency, but none of these teams do complete roster make overs every season like the Lakers. Teams are also investing in young players and letting them develop, which is another thing the Lakers don't do. The NBA is becoming a league for young players to start becoming stars and also a league that needs teams to have actual position players like centers and power forwards again. Teams like Golden State, Phoenix, Miami, Chicago, Brooklyn, the Clippers, and the Lakers need to change the way they build a team or else they are going to get left behind.
What y’all fail to realize over and over is that YOU HAVE TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS. LeBron is literally the oldest player in the league. AD is now playing full time center and was carrying one of the heaviest two-way loads in the nba this season. He was essentially doing what Giannis does without brook lopez next to him. LeBron at this age, and AD as a center, in this young and deep western conference that is only getting better, is not enough to get a top 6 seed in the playoffs an coming out of the play in is just too hard. That’s why the lakers are one of the few teams where the three star model makes sense. LeBron and AD can’t carry this team to a top 6 record in the west, let alone a top 4 record in the west. They need a 3rd star at guard to help carry the scoring load so LeBron can focus more on playmaking and AD can focus more on defense. My ideal situation is to get Lavine and Caruso from Chicago but their owner doesn’t seem to want to help LeBron lol at the same time that would make it basically impossible to get AD help at the center position. So maybe get jarrett Allen from Cleveland even tho Dan Gilbert isn’t likely to help the lakers either lol if you get Allen and keep Reaves, Vincent and Vando, that’s a pretty good start, but we would need some shooters. Maybe bring back KCP? Maybe Klay or buddy Heild?
