I checked the door frame. As long as the interior of the door frame is plumb then the door will be perfectly aligned when you push the hinge side against the door frame.
Hi. Just installed one of two of these doors but am struggling with the panhead screws "catching" properly on the door handle. Its not happening! I've installed many handles over the years and these screws have ALWAYS threaded in easily. Not this time. Came to your video to see if this was an issue you faced, but I see not. Heard anything of this? Thanks.
Should be in the video. I show how to install the handle set. Oh wait are you talking about the receiving side for the locks? If so it’s built into the door frame
Yes the receiving side on the door frame. It's real nice if the old matches the new but often their off and you have to find the location and either start from scratch and patch the old cutouts or worse it’s just off a little and you have to fudge something to get the strike plate to hold securely. I find that to often be tricky and was hoping for tips and ideas.
It’s all built into the right side frame rail. Don’t need to mount any catches at all. I had to remove the catch on the inner door frame from the old storm door
Did you have any trouble getting the short screws in the pre made holes during the closing part. Ours seem very large for the pre made holes. Do we just need to force them in? Thanks!
How flexible are the side frame panels? I just had mine installed and the inside part of the door handle is rubbing just a little against the frame and it's scratching the frame up. It does shut if you pull the handle but it doesn't naturally close. Great video!
I had to unscrew the door on the handle side and then pull on it for deadbolt/latch to retract the jammed door. Anderson has a how to on their site. Do Google for "How to Unlock Storm Door When Deadbolt Does Not Retract"
Excellent installation even handle correct hand.. had installation done by Lowes. Screws not installed all around perimeter of door. Bad installation...
I bought my door a month ago and search for videos to install after cancelling the pro. This by far is the most informative I’ve found
Thanks for watching and thanks for the kind words. Glad I could help.

Great news! Thanks for watching!
Can you please show a picture of the hydraulic at the top in the finished install
It’s in the same exact position on the door as the bottom one just at the top
Let me know if that helps, if not, I can snap a picture
@@theguyofalltrades ok. Im good. Thank you.
Thank you,well done.
You’re very welcome. Thanks for watching.

I haven’t had any issues other than the latch plate screws loosening. A little blue loctite fixed that though
Very helpful to watch. What about the plates for the deadbolt and latch?
For the storm door or entry door?
@@theguyofalltrades the storm door you demo hanging.

I don’t think they’re very flexible. The plastic spacers help the keep everything gapped properly when installing
Can't get the door to open after unsnapping the orange clips. Can you please elaborate what did you do on the interior side at 4:00. Thank you
Just go on the inside, and you can actually lift up where the clip is getting stuck on the frame
Thank you for the quick reply.

@@jigneshrathod6614 We just had the same problem, thank you.
@axiotraining360 the locking latch is very flimsy and has a rather high clearance....feels cheap.
I just subscribed
Thanks!
question i have the same door. the door handle will rotate 90 degrees up is this normal?
Yup mine does it too. There was something about it in the install instructions
@@theguyofalltrades ah pretty dumb but if im not the only one lol i guess its somewhat ok
When installing or removing the screen or storm window, rotate the handle up to make the installation easier.

Thanks 😅
Welcome!
Does nobody notice that he didn’t put the screen in? How do you put the screen in? Nobody tells you that.

okay...I think I can do it!!!
You definitely can. Any questions don’t hesitate to ask
Afraid i don't have the right tools to install this storm door. A handyman quotes me $85 to install it.
That’s pretty reasonable honestly. I would expect a bit more
That's a great price, most handyman start at $150-$300.
Okay I’ll definitely save me 300 for that installation from Home Depot
It’s super easy to install compared to some other brands.
