A neighbor once flicked me in the head in front of my own door (with a door cam recording it all) because I was watching a movie at 3 in the afternoon, and their baby was trying to sleep. Yeah my subwoofer is powerful, but I never imagined it would be an issue by day. He never asked or indicated the issue before. He knocked on my door angrily, I opened, he screamed, I replied, he flicked me in the head. So I punched him in the throat, called the cops, and got him arrested for assault after they saw my video. It ain't worth your time arguing with those fools. Yeah, having a baby can be frustrating. That was your choice, not mine. And hundreds of billions of people have dealt with it before you were even born yourself.
Violence is never the answer, unless it's responding to violence.
Results of my story: I pressed charges and he had no priors. He did no time at all and in my country, that sort of thing isn't on his permanent or criminal record at all. He apologised several times and now we're actually good neighbors. Instead of violence he's now choosing dialogue because his actions had consequences. Mission accomplished.

Not only gyms, but anywhere, you shouldn't go around touching people, unless you're actually friends with them, and I don't just mean, 1 or 2 times you meet. I have friends, that i don't just go up and put my hands on them, because, i respect their personal space. In the first place, the other guy was there to work out, and some people, spend more time than others? The gut, in question, could have waited or done something else? edited: First of all, thank you for the supportive comments. I want to put some context before anything, even though I don't like to talk about my life.
Having grown up in a very humble and poor family, always comparing myself to other kids at school has made me feel inferior. I spent most of my 20s sick as a result of a surgery that didn't go well and ended up damaging my face for several years, and I even lost weight until I looked like a skeleton.
All of this has developed a feeling of not wanting to be observed and go unnoticed.
When I started training, almost 3 years ago, I believed that the guys at the gym would make fun of me and it was the opposite, they were very kind to me and helped and encouraged me in everything, just like I do today with newbies.
If during that time I had met someone so rude, I would have reconsidered going to the gym.

Also can't stand the made-out, fake, plastic women filming themselves, acting all butt hurt if a man even so much glances their way but have no problem posting everything on social media. Joey’s got me thinking about gym culture a lot lately. I work out at home and haven’t been a gym member for seven years. These videos remind me of locker rooms when I was in junior high and high school, late 80s and early 90s. I dreaded gym class, and this looks like gym class to me. That might be why a lot of people, who would otherwise join, avoid gyms-and that’s sad.

It took me a lot of time to join a gym because of American films depicting them as being full of atrocious people. I immediately felt at home when I actually entered - I once couldn't complete a set of benchpresses and wasn't being spotted and a total stranger (not an employee) came and took the bar off my chest. Nobody commented on the form or exercises of others unless requested.

No one should be afraid to join a gym, most people there keep to themselves. and can be very supportive. Walk away, give him the spot, call the police, and file charges. Never fight someone unless you absolutely have to, because what I have found that even if it is self defense you can still end up going to jail. Try to walk away and call the police. These gyms usually have video surveillance and know the identities of everyone inside so there is no reason to even stay on premises. Just be sure to keep track of the time the best you can so that the police can find the person on video.

It's obvious to me that this man's parents taught him how to inappropriately touch people out of frustration and anger against someone where he feels it's ok to be a bully and rude. Kids learn this behaviour from their main source. God knows if he does this to women and children. This is scary and non acceptable behaviour from a person who should know better as you always aptly put it Joey. The victim reacted well and I'm sure his insides must have been just shaking and his blood must have reached a higher level than normal. Good for you and you showed everyone watching that by remaining respectful, you didn't lower yourself to this other guy's lack of common sense and kindness. I hope nobody takes this bully in - stay at home if you can't control your ego!!! Thanks.
