Holy shit that Sim you created was an unholy abomination that begs for apocalypse. Damn fine episode man, easily one of my favorite channels since I saw one of your vids last month
3:27 Something really similar happened to me once on one of the Haven City stages, when for whatever reason my car flew over the barriers, through a seemingly solid cliffside and straight into the void. Got a good look of the city from below while it lasted, though.
I don't really recall my earlier experiences with game glitches, but one game I did play years ago where I ran into some glitches was Crash Twinsanity (not much of a surprise there) But in more recent memory I ran into some cool glitches, both intentional and unintentional, and these older games will be timeless with these glitches, as that was before the age of patches.
One of my favourites is still getting a Mudokon in Abe's Oddysee to run right next to a wall, in such a way that the tiles softlocked him in place, stuck in the running animation. Considering I try to stream deathless runs on occasion, I have to be stupidly careful I don't stop myself from finishing areas with it. ... or possessing a fart in Abe's Exoddus and turning it blue. That's always fun.
I’ve been subscribed for a few years, and I’ve seen you go from smashing Enter the Dragonfly to now. Your presentation has consistently gotten better and it pains me you don’t have more subs. But I also respect the fact you continue to grind and improve your content. Keep it up my dude
I remember a glitch i liked to do years ago in lego star wars 2 on the PS2 In this glitch, you use a jedi or sith character, and if you use the force on certain characters right as they fall and die in a pit, they repeat their death scream over and over again in under a second! With characters like R2-D2 and IG-88, it may not only destroy your ears, but make you laugh as well
2:32 I might be able to explain this, generally if a game is glitchy like that, it's not always about the dirt, it's moe about bent pins. The classic NES slightly bends pins due to it's design. Blowing in the cart doesn't work because of dirt, it actually coats the pins in moisture ensuring a more solid connection with the pins and the inside of the system. The reason it's bad though is because the pins are made of copper, which is prone to rusting when exposed to moisture. (Thanks for reading, love the channel!)
Loved this video mate! Glitches are a fascinating phenomena. Breaking a game and venturing into Unknown territory. I almost always want to seek them out, especially the funny ones 🤣 used to spend hours shutting dead people in doors on Elder Scrolls Oblivion just to see them breakdance. Good times ❤️
Dusting of that old intro by the looks of it. It's welcome as I remember seeing it for the first time in 2015 or 16 I can't exactly remember but you know what I mean.
I've had those same physics glitches in WWE games. So easy to do on command sometimes, especially with the bat. And the shelving glitch in 2K18 especially.
As a kid, I used to abuse all the glitches in Super Mario Sunshine nonstop. Having Isle Delfino invisible, walking under every world, swimming in lava, rocket storage etc.
I remember encountering a glitch in the PS1 version of Pro Skater 3! In Los Angeles, there’s a sort of half-pipe section near the elevator’s top floor that i got perpetually stuck in. And by accident too, which was fun!
leaving the boundaries in san andreas is like an entire game itself. there's a secret tattoo shop that is not available in normal game but only accessible through blue hell. and in the mission where you go back to liberty city, you can explore more of the area when you use super jump cheat.
Awesome video, amazing intro, good jokes. Would like to see more one off stuff like this :) I read a pretty good explanation for the CTR language glitch - the language defaults to Japanese and as there are no font characters for that, it just displays no text. The boss heads being wrong is probably because they have animations associated with their lines based on what language you have selected, so the indexing is probably off and you end up with the wrong heads.
I had the most FRUSTRATING Swap Force glitch possible! Every time I was trying to beat Kaos and shot his ship down, the ship just went down the sky with Kaos saying "Ugh!" and after that nothing happened. I was still in the shooting ship, the music still played, I could still shoot, but there was nothing to shoot! So I was not able to finish the GODDAMN game!
Oh, how I wish I had captured the craziest glitch in CTR: Nitro Fueled a long time ago. I'll share it right here, since it was pretty astonishing: I entered an online match when Pinstripe (who I was playing as) was just T-posing on his kart. That would've been crazy enough, but when the race started, my kart or camera didn't move. All I got to see was me controlling a T-posing Pinstripe floating away with the other racers. And then the game crashed. Haven't ugly-laughed like that in a long time!
I always love seeing glitches in games when they don't ruin the game as a whole. They give the game somewhat of a different experience when you encounter them on multiple different playthroughs. Out of bounds glitches are always interesting, because you can see how the developers designed the levels and be surprised how much collusion there still is in the entire map. Anyways another great video Jak. This one is very entertaining to see.
I *LOVE* the video! 💚 It really felt like a throwback with CTR Language Glitch, Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly, A Hero's Tail and Croc's Boss Fight. And I love the effects! Especially the one on the intro! 😍🤩
I had a glitch with crash team racing when I was a kid. I just started a new game with aku aku talking to me. The connection on my tv was real fuzzy, or snowy, so I hit the disc cover really hard with my fist. Because I'm a genius. Then the music stoped and aku aku's voice got super high pitched and told that I had to race oxide. Which resulted in me releasing that mornings breakfast into my pants. I've never been able to recreate it, and I've tried a few times over the years.
The one game I've encountered many glitches in was Tomb Raider the Angel of Darkness.... That game felt more like an unfinished demo, so it was no surprise to enter a different level (or exit a building) and be greeted with a completely black screen instead of the level 😂
Omg I’m so glad to see someone else who knows about the Sims 2 infinite sliders in CAS. I feel like most people don’t know about just how nightmarish you can go 😂
I had quite the experience with Max Payne 3 when I got 2 glitches. Had it all recorded and all, until my old external hard drive shit the bed. So let me explain the best I can: 1st glitch: Was about to jet ski to the next level when all of a sudden, Max Payne sudden A-poses into the water for a while. Then it resumes until the level can't progress. 2nd glitch: Near the end in the airport level, and as I fight off bad guys in the plaza, the world turns into a big sky box and blooms light like mad. You can't make this shit up until you have it recorded.
The San Andreas glitch in the gym is supposed to take you into a great open sky where all the building interiors are located. I've never seen it featuring a dark void before.
that ending sums up my attempted casual speedrun of dbz kakarot perfect. a single weird technical difficulty that eventually consumed all in the span of 2 hours. if you ever do a second video of game glitches, feel free to use that footage to sum it all up in one very nice package :D
Funny that you mention save data corruption, because I had that experience recently. I accidentally dropped my GBA SP, and copy of Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga was in the cartridge slot. Worried, I picked it up, turned it on, and everything was perfectly fine. except... ALL OF MY SAVE PROGRESS WAS GONE!!
Love to see that intro again. Great episode, loved the different aspects you talked over and the intro was a great addition. Hope to see more non-game testing vids from ya :)
Cheers mate. I've got a testing episode up on the 25th and then I'll be looking to start getting ahead on main episodes for 2021 over the holiday period - January.
This was a neat video. Would like see you experience more or showcase games with fun ones. I remember years back I was playing final fantasy 7 as a kid trying to beat it, little to no internet back then, no strategy guide. I spent my entire summer break on that game in love with it. And I got to the end of the game (only know now I’m older was literally the area right before the finale back then wasn’t sure how close was to beating it.) and next day I went to load my save and it fucked, it’d load, but every input I made did nothing. Cloud would just stand there, could open menu that’s it though. No sound either. It musta been on verge of corrupt. I was so broken my save said 120hrs ish. A whole summer off and on everyday just gone, glitched right at the end. Never went to back to beat it officially just watched the ending when got older online, still one my favorite games ever but I was sooooo broken from that save messing up.
Absolutely love the different style from your other recent vids, this was really fun! Can we expect more content like this in the future or is this a one-off fun idea? Note that your regular reviews are still really fun, it's just cool to see a change of pace sometimes
Cheers! These really depend on if it's a topic I can sink my teeth into and the kinda mood I'm in while writing. This episode felt super natural to work on recently so it turned out really well. But these also don't tend to perform as well on the channel, given the broader topics tend to be harder to 'market & sell' to bring in viewers.
I likee me some glitches, but I love me some exploits, like in Gran Turismo 3: Tuning certain race/rally cars like the Suzuki Escudo and the Toyota GT-One in a certain way would send speeds up to over a thousand mph+ until the game breaks. Another is more of a glitch in Dark Cloud where you could obtain some unforeseen secrets like the broken dagger as an attachment to your weapons that could turn the meekest sword into a mostly 1-hit killing machine.
Interesting video just like the power of 3 and similar videos in this format. I've not had many myself when collecting but I do know of a few I guess that count (I only have a few times a DS/3DS game won't read as I don't have anything older than PS1 games on cartridge, or my Spyro 1 music stuffing up (as many know for the PAL version even with the Platinum copy) Spyro 2 not loading sometimes/Ratchet Gladiator on PS2 getting stuck on the loading screen) and not often do I have games stuff up other than the odd Mass Effect 2 with characters floating in the air when they should spawn on the ground. Final Fantasy 13 characters getting stuck in Chocobos and whatever else in other games with on the spot, incorrect spawning/raydoll or walls but not that often. And does the Spyro Hero's Tail 360 count or just that it's a check the game does more so I guess? But either way it could be my disks or it could be just the systems trying to work harder I guess. It's more so been for my games that I've owned before collecting though not my newly collected titles which would have a fair amount of minor scratches but still work. Not sure about many NPCs getting stuck. I do remember boundary breaking Recore (the Xbox One exclusive made by the same people as Mighty No. 9) though, there was a part of a building you could walk inside that wasn't closed off, then again most parts of that game seemed odd for platforming even to scale up and just like MN9 it seemed rushed so I expect issues with it in some way or another. Otherwise not played many like Enter the Dragonfly or other broken games to see what happens, just like how I only kind of use cheats to see what their like but mostly don't use them. Even my Arcade 360 [we do have an Xbox 360 E, the Xbox One looking one but I use the other one as that one is for the rest of the family to use and the old one I use is still usable even for a bad disk tray but some saves/files I can't move off it either] (the one that had Red Ring for a Hard Drive issue) gave me a top right section of the ring but not the other 3 rings which I thought was odd. So I checked the possible red ring errors and it wasn't on the list. It seems like it was trying to do the hard drive one but didn't display the other two parts of the ring. Obviously the 360 still works and whenever it red rings its because it can't find a hard drive but it was so strange I screenshot it to remember it.
7:27 The box stayed there because just before the very moment the box was supposed to disappear, you crashed and got despawned, the box did it's disappear logic when there was no box spawned in and then you're character got spawned back in on the track in its previous state because the box had already called it's despawn event, it never tried to call it again. Most game developers will have several calls to certain despawn events ensuring that at one point or another it will disappear but I guess in this case it was a one time thing based on a timer and if somehow you manage to trigger it whilst the box isn't in the world (like you did) then you keep the box forever.
In saints row 2 those frame drops always happened in those missions when i played it as a kid on the 360 with a disc to now on xbox one and i have the digital version it seems to be part of the game and idk why 😂
Thank you for yet another amazing video Jak, had me laughing throughout the entire thing as usual. If I may ask, do you have any plans on reviewing Sly 4: Thieves in Time? I just got into the series from watching your videos and I"d love to hear your thoughts on that one. Thanks, and have a great fucking day!
Damn dude, your Saints Row 2 section reminded me of when I first bought that game on Xbox 360. Brand new, unopened. I shit you not my copy was BROKEN. It would load, let me create my character, play the opening cutscene but as soon as it let me play, a character I had to sneak up on would never, ever appear and I couldn't progress past that first room in the tutorial no matter what I did. I reset my cache, tried installing the game on the internal HDD, unplugged my console and even tried to leave it turned off for an hour but nothing worked. I took the game back to the shop to try and explain that it was a glitched copy and swapped it for Midnight Club LA. I did end up picking up another copy of SR2 cheaper later down the line and that still works to this day, but how does that happen? Don't they all use the same disc to copy data for the game? Maybe they got a power outage while making my old disc XD
I would legitimately love to see a developer tackle Enter the Dragonfly, and making it the game it was supposed to be Because honestly, there is some potential there to be a decent Spyro game
4:00 this one hurts. Wonder Boy in Monster Land is preinstalled on my SEGA Master System II but I never got to play it. After some research I found out that this game just can't handle the Mega Drive/Genesis Controller and always does this unless you're using an official Master System Controller. I don't have such an controller so I'm simply out of luck...
Not as lucky as you when it comes to capturing glitches. I think in my dead space review I found a few there that was a bit... Jarring. Great video by the way!
The lens gear for my ps2 broke so you could still play games but it couldnt pull the lense back and forth fast enough so every game you played worked but with endless glitches.
Regarding Wonder Boy in Monster Land. This is not the game issue itself. It's a incompatibity issue with Mega Drive/Genesis controllers if you have them hooked up onto the Master System or even on a Mega Drive with the a Everdrive or MD converters inserted. The game will just work fine if you replace it with a Master System controller. Some Master System games from the late 80's such as Montezuma's Revenge tend to have this incompatibity issue with Mega Drive controller and don't function right. For example, Monster Land had Wonder Boy repeatly moving left/right and pressing START just causes him to fall through the level repeatly as untended, and Montezuma's Revenge caused the player to move in one direction.
Ha I had a glitch happen to me in Saints Row 2 too. After loading my file, the safe house door wouldn't open and I couldn't leave to actually play the game. I had several hours logged and just had to start over.
You should have had that the video glitched so hard, that either the intro glitches into the first versions of it, or the outro doesn't finish, instead, it blacks out for about 10 seconds, then it begins the intro of the Crash Bandicoot 1 review as a play on the save corruption/deletion glitch.
The only glitch I see is UA-cam's algorithm not promoting SquareEyedJak's amazing content all the time!
I should of known about this channel at least five years ago.

Twinsanity and Skate 3 has to be some of the best glitch infested games thats actually fun
I had the same Glitch in HZD. I remember being like what tha!. Such a great game HZD :)
Love it so much, can't wait for the new one. Hopefully find more black hole rocks to hide inside of!
In saints row 2 those frame drops always happened in those missions when i played it as a kid on the 360 with a disc to now on xbox one and i have the digital version it seems to be part of the game and idk why 😂
oi oi oi, a new video. lets see what we have in store here.
HAHAHAHA 2:07 DIDNT EXPECT THAT AT ALL, HAHAHAHAHAHA. thats made my day hahah.
Maybe in the future you can make an episode called "Video Game Corruptions"
Where you force the game to glitch unexpectedly.
Yes he dose have the plans. Time traveling Jack already apperd in some videos.
Yet, mrsaintsgodzilla21 did a video on Saints Row 2's The Freezer, which freezes and damages xbox 360 copies of SR2.
I would legitimately love to see a developer tackle Enter the Dragonfly, and making it the game it was supposed to be
Because honestly, there is some potential there to be a decent Spyro game
Editing is on point jack
4:00 this one hurts. Wonder Boy in Monster Land is preinstalled on my SEGA Master System II but I never got to play it.
After some research I found out that this game just can't handle the Mega Drive/Genesis Controller and always does this unless you're using an official Master System Controller.
I don't have such an controller so I'm simply out of luck...
Hope you have an amazing Christmas Jak 😁🎅❤
Not as lucky as you when it comes to capturing glitches. I think in my dead space review I found a few there that was a bit... Jarring. Great video by the way!
the glitch gremlin has invaded another channel
The lens gear for my ps2 broke so you could still play games but it couldnt pull the lense back and forth fast enough so every game you played worked but with endless glitches.
Intro is good as always
I love this channel. You never fail to make me laugh. Thank you jak
Really liked this video! Keep up the good work.
My favourite glitch has to be when you were streaming enter the dragonfly when Spyro broke his fucking neck after the honey slide 😂😂😂
It's a classic, that entire live stream series was the absolute best!
So what other videos do you have planned for this Christmas and next year, Jak? 🎄🎄⭐️⭐️
14:36 made me laugh hard because I was playing that a month or 2 ago
Nice writing dude!
Videogame glitches are the worst, especially when the game is released full of them like 'Spyro: Enter The Dragonfly'.
Ha I had a glitch happen to me in Saints Row 2 too. After loading my file, the safe house door wouldn't open and I couldn't leave to actually play the game. I had several hours logged and just had to start over.
That SNES released so much dust I am feeling allergic reactions by just staring at it
That was the 2nd take as well 🙄
You should have had that the video glitched so hard, that either the intro glitches into the first versions of it, or the outro doesn't finish, instead, it blacks out for about 10 seconds, then it begins the intro of the Crash Bandicoot 1 review as a play on the save corruption/deletion glitch.
That was a funny video :) Nice collection of glitches !
