I am pretty sure it's either a soundtrack or intended to be a solo where overplaying is required
It's basically a practice loop which has some rhythmically consistent ideas in it. And this is what Matt would sit and home and do, find new groves, feels, and fills that work within the ideas that the backing track is laying down. The track is sparse on purpose to leave room for interpretation and a lot of notes 💪🏾
