Some things that actually helped to control my hairfall include: (1) I quit wearing hair ties because it causes tension breakage. (2) I started massaging my hair and scalp 2 times a week with liitleextra cocoonnion hair oil while bending over & holding my head upside down to allow blood flow to the scalp. (3) Covering my head while moving out to shield my hair from dust and pollution. (4) Using mild shampoo again from liittleextra only to wash my hair.
I have bought three bottle each of the Cocooonion shampoo & hair conditioner. Up to now, on the whole they have worked for me in controlling my hair fall
i started using 5% topical minoxidil in january to fill in and lower my hairline, and the results are amazing. i wasn’t losing my hair, but my forehead is kinda big and i was considering a forehead reduction in the future, so the minoxidil is an attempt to shrink my forehead a tiny bit. my baby hairs are growing into adult hairs, and i can put my hair up without feeling insecure. the fine vellus hairs near my hairline are growing significantly as well. my forehead appears to have reduced by at least 1.5 cm. i’ve always had a small patch of low hair density right at the middle of my hairline, and that has filled in completely. i wouldn’t have tried this if i hadn’t heard Dr. Linkov talk about minoxidil in his videos.
@@paco041 i don’t really have a good way to show you, sorry. all i recommend is to start using it, since it takes a few months to see progress. also, be sure to take before photos.
I have been using it for a couple of months. I was quite hesitant about starting because of the risks of shedding in the short/medium term and having to deal with the stress of having even less hair around my hairline. But I understood its a temporary situation so went ahead with trying it, also with no expectations of getting any results, just being consistent each day and waiting for something to happen. For a few weeks now I have been able to see small hairs filling in my hairline. They have gradually become darker/more visible but are easier to keep track of with closeup photos. Interestingly they don't seem to be growing in length much, yet. Maybe they are vellus hairs? Not too sure. Anyway I have to say I'm almost in disbelief that this is happening from a topical ointment, something I probably would normally ignore or scoff at this type of thing which seems too good to be true. Pretty excited to see what might happen in a few months time. I'm glad its working for you too.
Dr. Linkov you are the best! I have been taking oral Minoxdil for almost a year for hair growth. I am a 79 years old woman that lost her hair due to Covid and the vaccine. I have had PRP treatments 9 times which worked great but only lasted for one year. I finally got on Minoxidil and it works great( just 1.5 dose) the miracle is that my eye lashes have grown very long and I have the hair on my eyebrows grown back but I also have hairy arms(never had that before). My hair has grown in like never before. Plus I got off my regular blood pressure medicine because oral Minoxidil works better for me. Your channel is the best you explain everything great. Thank you for everything you do to help people like me with devastating hair loss find helpful good results.
It works really great, start at a low dose, I started at 2.5 and im tempted to go to 5 mg because my doctor gave me a double prescription by accident… I did notice an alarming shed and my hair seemed thinner then before however this is apparently a side effect that’s actually good meaning the hair is responding and it caused a huge change in the cycle of hair causing a large shed hopefully followed with a large gain, im using topical finasteride and topical 2% and 5% minoxidil
You should also consider and research essential oils to combine in your hair “stack” using more things together helps obviously. I use caster oil, sandalwood oil, rosemary, lavender, rose, jojoba and many others topically on my hair my favourite is Sandalwood and second favourite is Rose. Sandalwood is very expensive but smells amazing (like light woodsy / leather scent) and is not overpowering, also great for skin. Also combined it with ketoconazole Lotion 2%, LED red light helmet, topical minoxidil as well as healthy all natural shampoo and conditioner not over washing your hair either. Pay close attention to your water you use on your hair, they make special shower heads that remove additives and other bad elements for hair, try only using cold water. Other things like switching to natural mulberry silk pillow cases. Not using any dye, and other topical creations like boiling rose hips into a spray, different types of clay masks for hair, shea butter, mango butter and other natural butter compounds. Also get a high quality set of Micro needles, derma rollers and derma stamps. The more you pay typically the better the roller, it hurts like a bitch but if it bleeds your scalp will grow nice hair. Using this weekly in conjunction with your total hair stack. If you invest the time and money correctly into both the things contained in my comments you will NOTICE huge gains no matter what gender or age.

A great video at the perfect time. I am a physician, trying to prevent my own hair loss. I have moved from topical to oral minoxidil for better efficacy. On 2.5 mg/day, I did note some heart palpitations. Changing to 1.25 mg twice a day has essentially eliminated them. The pills cut easily with a pill cutter.
Same happened to me. I instead now use minoxidil with trochee format. Literally have 0 side effects compared to oral. No fast heart beat or tiredness. I mean literally no sides anymore
Wow, your eyebrows have grown back! I didn't think you looked bad without them, but if you have been undergoing treatment I am very happy for you that you got such good results.
I’ve been applying this hair growth serum of reactivate littleexttrra for quite a while now and feeling good with the results I’ve got with it... it is my third bottle now. This serum has to be applied to the scalp so it works like magic to a dry scalp. I use it normally before bed time and just rub it well into my hair....and cleanse it the next morning. I have noticed hair growth and improvement in my hairline.
Fake comment. You will not see results with 3 bottles of minidoxil mixed with trentonoin. In reality that lasts a bit less than 3 months. Hair growth phases make it so you need about 4 months minimum to see if something is working.
reactivate serum for hair growth has a great combination ingredients of and I think this is why my hair growth increased by over 50% in just a few weeks
Been on OM 2.5mg for about 6 months now. I experienced 1 day of minor leg swelling in the beginning and then it went away. Absolutely 0 sides since then. I bumped up to 5mg a few weeks ago to see how I tolerate it and I started getting some sides, so 2.5mg for the foreseeable future it is.
Doc, would you still recommend derma-rolling or derma-pen if using oral minoxidil? Or is it only beneficial if paired in conjunction with topical minoxidil?
I used the topical 2% on my beard. I can confidently say it works. And I will also say the results are permanent, so long as you use it long enough for the hairs on your face to turn terminal. I was able to grow a decent mustache and goatee, but my sides were very bare. However, after 9 months of continued use, my sides are now completely filled in. Its been 3 years, and all the hairs have stayed. The hairs do not grow as long the ones on my chin, 8 in at my chin and 4in at my sides, but I am considering using it again, to test if further use will cause the hairs to furthur mature and naturally grow longer after using it again. I commonly recommend its use to all my friend's and family members that grow patchy beards. I do of course recommend them to research its side effects because of it blood thinning property.
I'm on oral minoxidil 0.25 mg for almost 3 months and I'm using topical form once a day, I start to see results, my hair is stronger and thicker, my beard is also thicker and darker than ever. I hope to see better results with time but even know I'm really happy to see my hair getting stronger.
@@amandaburleson2035 i am also using oral minoxidil 1.25 but now two days i had a low BP and fast heart beat it's important 0.25 low dose most important because of side effects
I have a thinning hairline at my bangs and a widow's peak area. I always had very thick hair as a younger person. I'm self-conscious of the thinning bangs. I saw good reviews on amygrow herbal hair oil and decide to try it. I've only been using it for just close to a month so I haven’t seen the result I'm hoping for, but in this short time, I'm beginning to see a little more growth in my bangs. I have high hopes for this hair oil and plan to purchase more to continue use. Since I only use it in the bangs, the product is lasting a good while. I use one squirt of the distributed pump amount and massage it in the edge of my bangs and widow peak. It does not make my hair feel greasy. I apply at night before going to bed. I only wash my hair once a week. There is no routine.
Thank you for making medications more accessible. I am going to be getting on oral Finasteride (+) oral Minoxidil in a couple weeks! I am very excited to get rid of my thin/wispy hair in the front, and fill in the temples. I think I am catching my hair loss pretty early; my hair loss is not horrible right now at age 21, but it definitely is bothering me. I hope this will fix it for many many years to come. Can I comment here to get updates? Also, I have a few questions. He said it's non-label use. So did the doctor still prescribed you oral minoxidl for hair loss? I want to take oral minoxidill because I dont have the patience for applying twice a day topically? Why you chise for oral minoxidil?
@@SideEffects297 I have taken Finasteride for 15 years now with no noticeable side effects. I just started on oral min a week ago and have felt tired and have had bags under my eyes. I am in the SAME exact boat as you, brother. Turned 23 in July - noticed some hair loss at 20-21 and then noticed at the beginning of this year my temples/hairline starting to recede. No bueno. I started 2.5mg about August last year after a year and a half using topical. I wish I started sooner! It’s dirt cheap for me, like less than $5/month. And it’s so convenient to take just 1 small pill versus the messy topical solutions and foams.
@@Myraisins1 there was some initial shedding, but that could have also been from stopping the topical solution I was on. But that shedding regrew quickly. I’ve read that there was an in vitro study showing inhibition of collagen with minoxidil, have you noticed (anecdotally and through literature) any evidence confirming this claim? There are a lot of reddit forums of people claiming minoxidil has prematurely aged their faces, resulting in deeper nasolabial folds, forehead lines, and eyebags from loss of collagen - would you say these accounts are likely 2/2 to minoxidil or are they attributable to something else?
Good info here Doctor. May I also suggest you covering the use of Tretinoin for hair loss? I've heard some theories thrown around about its efficacy, and I think it would benefit some folks to have a more definitive breakdown from a pro like yourself.
I was on FIN for 10 years and didn't like the side effects, I started OM 8 months a go at 2.5 and wow amazing results, much better than FIN which I stopped. My doc even had me back off 2.5 OM to 1.00 and still all good!!!!
Dr Gary, is it true that if you use topical minoxidil and switch to oral form, you may lose hair gains from the topical form? I've seen people say that they use both presentations due to this problem
I’m woman and I checked out your website but didn’t see how I can obtain a prescription for the oral minoxidil. Can you enlighten me? And thanks for what you do
I took Minoxidil liquid for about 3-4 years. When I stopped taking it, not only did my new gained head hair fell out but also did my chest hair. Which was quite scary and proves that Minoxidil has an effect on the whole body.
@@kayumochi it is common to grow hair in other places when you use Minozidil on your head. If you take the Oral version of minoxidil ( not the same as just drinking the liquid minoxidil which isn't safe) this is very common.
HI Doc, can you combine oral minoxidil and oral finasteride? I often see the oral finasteride and topical minoxidil recommended as a treatment but it seems like oral minoxidil would be more effective.
topical is more effective than 1.25mg min for me (i was a good responder to topical). But 2.5-5mg range is where I saw something more close to topical efficacy. I'd image >5mg would be superior to topical for me. It depends on how much of a responder you are. If you are a hyperresponder to topical, you will need a higher dose of oral to match it.
For a patient who is currently taking 2.5mg of oral minoxidil daily (Not topical minoxidil), could you advise on the number of days they should discontinue the medication prior to their hair transplant surgery? Additionally, how long should they wait after the surgery before they can start taking the 2.5mg oral minoxidil again?
I was told by my trichologyst like 10/15 days previous to surgery, finasteride can be taken also the the day before and similar after the surgery, like 2 weeks
if I start using minoxidil but then stop, will my hair go back to a state that it would have been had I never took minoxidil? Or will it make it even worse than if I had never took it?
I’ve been using oral min since Dec. I noticed improvements in the temple areas after 2 months. I didn’t realize until I went to the barbershop. I take this alongside fin.
Is it any value in taking Finasteride AND oral Minoxidil? I thought Finasteride is a level higher than Minox as far as pills/remedies against hair loss
@@lucri988 They do different things, minoxidil works mechanically by increasing blood flow and finasteride works chemically by inhibiting DHT, DHT causes hair follicles to stop growing new hair in the main pattern baldness areas.
If a patient switches from topical to oral minoxidil, should they discontinue the topical minoxidil immediately on the day they begin taking the oral minoxidil? Or should there be an overlap period, during which the patient BOTH applies topical minoxidil AND takes the oral minoxidil? And if the latter is the case, for how long should the patient take both? Or should a patient taper from one to the other? Thanks!
Hey Gary, I saw a comment about this needed to be for europeans too, and I totally agree. We in Europe need u aswell, I hope u can get this fixed asap. I love ur content keep it going.
This is great information! Honestly I'm excited about low dose oral Minoxidil becoming available for treating hairloss, and I wish it would become available in my European country as well. I don't feel fantastic about taking Finasteride due to the associated side effects (I actually really like most of the things DHT does for my body) but I also can't take topical Minoxidil because it dries out and irritates my skin way too much, but otherwise it has great effect in regards to hair regrowth for me. So yeah, if at all possible I'd definitely like to talk to a doc in my country about trying oral Minoxidil. I have male pattern baldness with quite significantly receeding hairline (somewhere between 4 and 5 on the Norwood scale I'd presume) and some thinning, but it seems to be going quite slowly for me, and at this point I can still look decent with a longer hairstyle.
You will still have plenty of DHT in your system on Finasteride. The goal of that medication isnt to remove DHT entirely, but to keep it from becoming excessive. Too much DHT only serves to cause us problems, like hair loss and prostate enlargement. A small dose of finasteride will just reduce DHT levels just enough to hopefully solve this.
Hello, I've been using 0.5 dutasteride a day for 1 year, I got the expected effect all over my hair, even in my crown area, new hair appeared, but I did not get the effects I expected in my front temple area. My question is, if I add 2.5 mg of oral minoxidil a day and continue on my way with dutasteride and quit oral minoxidil after 2 years, if I continue with dutasteride continuously, will the hair grown by oral minoxidil fall out? This is the most important question for me because of the fear of oral minoxidil, I would be very grateful if you could answer me.
I have been on Minoxidil for more than 90 days and i noticed my hair is a lot thicker and my hairline is snatched. However, I am also noticing lots of baby hairs on my face especially on moustache and beard areas. The area on my sideburn is also wild. You wouldn't notice the baby hairs and extra facial hair growth with naked eyes but I see them clearly under 10X mirror. I am conflicted because I love the effect of hair regrowth and thickening on my scalp but i hate the effect for the rest of my body especially my face!
I’m going to switch to oral as I’m using the topical right now. I also experience that hair growth on my face, Upper cheeks and upper lip. I shave my face in the shower, which I also did before minoxidil bc it helps makeup look nice on a smooth face. My hair, eyebrows & lashes looking great far outweigh the tiny hairs on my face.
@@jenniferkelly8020 as someone who has very minimal peach fuzz on my face prior to taking oral Minoxidil, it sorts of just threw me off. The idea of having to shave my face is off putting. But I just can't get over how good my hair, lashes and brows are looking!
Hi Dr Linkov. Love your videos! I started experiencing rapid, onset hairloss age 37 (a few years after my hashimotos diagnosis). I am on levothyroxine and all of my blood work was in range, so my gp referred me to a dermatologist. She diagnosed me trichodynia and told me I could get up to 60% of my hair back with oral minoxidil and started me on 25 and then upped me to 50 (she also put me on spironolactone). I was on these for a year and only had a small amount of new growth, still experienced hair loss and the occasional painful scalp. I ended up stopping as the cost to see her plus the medication just seemed impractical to me. Do you have theories as to why this did not work for me and any possible other suggestions? Love from Australia
Thanks for this video! I just signed up to get the oral minoxidil (already on finasteride) and was so much easier than going though my primary care physician.
Can you explain the alleged side effects of dark circles around the eyes/promoting aging? It’s spoken about on the Internet forums but it’s hard to know what is true and what is not. How do you know if you’re having leg swelling?
considering it's a fact it affects heart rate, blood pressure and makes hair grow wherever you put it, i dont think it's a stretch to believe it has some nasty side effects also. That's the ying yang thing. that being said, i would assume that a lot of people who take minoxidil for hair loss also have a high chance of doing other stuff, which may have singular side effects or interact with each other. In that dumb biohacking scene those guys will do whatever and combine whatever, even untested stuff from some lab in china.
Its true. Years ago I experienced side effects of darkness under my eyes from using the tropical plus dizziness.. I eventually disconnected use. Now I'm wondering if the oral will effect me the same or no. Because overall I did see results with hair grow. But there is no way I can deal with those types of side effects.
I read that oral minoxidil had been shown to cause heart lesions in dogs that were on oral minoxidil in a university study? That’s true I’d would think it would not be worth the risk.
Is there a difference in efficacy between taking 1.25mg twice a day vs 2.5 mg once per day? A 2.5mg dose gives me chest pressure but not if I take it at 1.25 mg once in the morning and once in the evening
Dr. Linkov, can you give your input on mixing topical minoxidil with retinols? i’ve been seeing posts online about this and read a study published recently, but i’d love to hear your expert opinion. thanks!!
In the past you've debated oral vs topical. In this video you clearly favor oral. Is it fair to say that if you discontinued topical treatment...that oral may not "hit" the same spots you were applying on your scalp? Thanks Doc!
I never experience hair loss but I did reconstruct my hairline to be straighter. Got the surgery and I’ve been on finasteride for the past 3 months now. I did want to ask. Should I be taking minoxidil? Or should I wait for the full results of my transplant and then start the medication?
Hi, Doc. I haven't started any medical treatment for hairloss yet. I'm using a combo of the hair oil that I saw from one of your videos, which is a mix of rosemary oil, Pumpkinseed oil, and coffeine from coffee. My hair loss is around 1.5-2 NW, but it's thinner and I have shedding in the shower or when I apply the oil. Do you recommend the oral Mino over Finasteride and Dustaride? I don't want to take the Fin or Dust because of their shedding and worst side effects, which many have reported they weren't reversed for them after stopping the meds. Thanks, Doc.
Dont give in to Fin horror stories, the sides are extremely, I mean extremely rare, and none of them are permanent, Reddit people love to spread fear. Minoxidil isnt a permanent cure, it delays the hairloss, 5 to 10 years later it will not be enough. Finasteride is your real option here.
Hi doctor, do you think long term of using oral or topical minoxidil can have a negative effect on the blood pressure ? reduce the blood pressure too much permanently, by dilating the arteries or blood vessels too much?
There are no long term saftey data on this so they have no idea of its effects over time. If you are considering taking this drug I would suggest speaking to a cardiologist and not a plastic surgeon.
I was on it for a month an a half at 2.5mg. Within the first week I started noticing my calfs feeling weird and heavy, then I was hit with severe shortness of breath, which came and went, then my skin started looking awful - dark eye circles, I was breaking out..ect and then the final straw was chest tightness and anxiety! This medication is serious. As you can see only after a month I was experiencing all of this misery! Needless to say i stopped - hair isnt worth dying over!
I feel this! I'm bearing through the side effects on possibly the third week but they're not going away so I may stop if they don't improve. Maybe I'll just accept my baldness, which has been really hard for me.
Anyone getting sides, I did too. What Did. First 2 days i took 2.5, got sides. Next 2 days took 1.25, still sides. Next 3 or 4 days took like .625 sides started going away. Next 2 days took 1.25 still sides but less. From then I started 2.5 and got less and less sides for about a week until they fully went away.
Dr Gary, I had found your channel a few months ago and since then I don't forget to watch your videos from time to time. I have my transplant done in Turkey through a company which looked trustable and credible having an existence in UK too. Price was more or less average if we talk about the price in Turkey. The company actually gets the clients predominantly from UK and they get them hair transplants in 2/3 hospitals in Turkey. They were all good leading upto the surgery day and even during the surgery they tried to do their best. But the biggest dent they inflicted to my trust was when none of the original team memebers who were showed to me to be responsible for my hair transplant as specialised team were there. All different technicians and even the surgeon who had to be the one to implant hair was different. I raised my concern with them how can they do this to a patient on day of surgery when they don't have any choice but to go ahead with whatever team you deploy. I asked the translator that was provided to me what is the point of providing credentials and certificates of surgeon and other technicians initially for client to verify and research about them when on day of surgery you present the client with this kind of surprise. They tried to play with words and excuses but there wasn't any valid justification. Another thing is my hairline had receded by an inch at least. While the surgeon wanted to bring it down by quarter of an inch only by stating that my forehead muscles are quite high and it would make the hair move every time muscles are being used if he brings it further down. While in the mirror I could see my forehead muscles were way down, may be more than an inch further down. Did he give me a valid reason to not lower my hairline by more than quarter of an inch.
Maybe you should say the clinic name so to warn others. If you scrunch your forehead, the hairline can go as low as just above the top line that folds. My new hairs were implanted slightly higher in the middle than before around the widows peak, talking 1 or maybe 2 mm at most. Some in the widows peak area had remained from youth, but the rest just thinned out. The rest of the hairline along the front was lowered, but is above any folds in the skin when frowning. Just frown and see above the top fold for the area that remains flat. It's possible they didn't lower it more to save on grafts. I think I had less grafts than they claimed, but I can't prove it.
F that sh. Very powerful stuff. I've almost died yesterday from low BP. I fainted and had weird sensations, couldn't breathe. My heart was racing non-stop, then it would drop very fast in half, was scary. Just from 2.5mg, BTW. And I was taking it for months. It should be noted that I'm naturally towards lower pressure, though. But still, you have to monitor your BP and heart rate if you decide to take it.
Not a doc but as far as I've seen on countless threads and discussions, it just has risk of each side effect, there's no real danger of amplified effects or anything like that.
I tired everything including finasteride, the only think that worked for me was 5mg oral minoxidil, i started at 2.5mg for 3 months, my hair got really thick but no major regrowth until i upped it to 5mg, it has been working great for me the only side effects is hair everwhere in your body.
3 questions: 1. Can someone with low blood pressure take it? 2. Can you use it in combination with topical minoxidil? 3. How does one transition from the topical form to the oral form? Thanks!
Dear doctor, thanks a lot for the information 😊 1) Is it ok to take oral minoxidil while talking finasteride and biotin ? (please note I started finasteride three weeks before) 2)Can I buy minoxidil tables from the pharmacy? I am living in Germany Berlin ( i can get prescription from a doctor) Thanks lot for your amazing support!
I’m gonna try the oral minoxidil but I really like the hims foam. It actually makes my hair more textured which makes it easier for me to style and make it look fuller.
Also, what kind of results could I reasonably expect if I have #7 on the hairloss scale? (top of head is almost totally bald). It grows in peach fuzz, thicker in some areas than others, but it's still pretty sparse.
most benefit you would see with a sharpie. kidding. just dont do that smp BS, i.e. tattoo your bald head. it works for some black guys, but mostly looks ridiculous in real life.
I will say don’t lose hope and give it a try, see how much hairs could you save after 8 months before you consider a hair transplant, every single one matters❤ I regretted that I did not save as much as I could before I get a transplant
Dr. G, I’ve heard that minoxidil can have diminished results long term as it doesn’t address one of the main issues of male hair loss DHT. If your body’s DHT production is causing your hair to thin the minoxidil will eventually not be able to keep up with the negative effects of DHT. Any truth to this?
@@drgarylinkov I guess I'm out then. I've been debating for months about starting oral minoxidil at 58. I've already decided the risks of finasteride are not worth it. ( it doesn't help my job is extremely stressful and I'm caring for my elderly mother who is almost 95).
Just a quick question, Dr Linkov. If I stopped taking oral minoxidil, then start retaking it, is the hairloss gone for good or will it return once I start retaking it? Love all your videos! So helpful.
@@ShiekahTribe just a return to hairloss levels prior to taking the pills? Or more pronounced loss because there is now more to lose in the same time period?

Shedding lasted for basically 3 months. And I upped it to 2.5mg a day after 6 weeks. Edit: is now 6/17 so it’s been 3 months. The shedding is subsiding. Now I’m getting 20-30 hairs when shampooing. Hairline is thickening up. No major regrowth yet but I did shed for 3 months so I gotta give it more time. Only sides I gotten so far was the shedding.

Doc thanks for your informative videos. I’ve been using topical minoxidil twice a day for over 20 years .since I was 18 when my male pattern baldness started . I was wondering if I could switch to oral form ? I was very consistent with topical and barely missed doses and even switching topical brands gives me sheds! I heard stories when people switched to oral after long term use of topical , they had terrible sheds. One doctor mentioned that’s because scalp loves it and gets used to the topical minoxidil which contains higher doses of 50mg minoxidil per ml . Personally I apply 1.5 ml twice a day . Do you think it’s risky to switch to oral form in my case ? Thanks

Definitely oral minoxidil is way better than topical minoxidil, I have it with dutasteride and I have seen way better gains than those 2 in topical, 0.5 dutasteride and 2.5 mg of oral minoxidil and no side effects of anything. good libido, good energy, 0 depression, and just more hair growing. Best, well actually one side effect that I don't like of oral minoxidil is that not only head hairs grows thicker, but everywhere else, like my face and and body, and I don't like that, but besides that, is more simpler and good for me at least.
None of these are gonna do anything if the reason your hair is falling out is because of male pattern baldness, you need actual meds to stop that
This is a bot comment’
No shampoo method is a good approach too
Dude you still need meds. If shampoo and bit tying your hair was the cure no one would have problems. Also youre a grown man now. Cut your hair
i started using 5% topical minoxidil in january to fill in and lower my hairline, and the results are amazing. i wasn’t losing my hair, but my forehead is kinda big and i was considering a forehead reduction in the future, so the minoxidil is an attempt to shrink my forehead a tiny bit. my baby hairs are growing into adult hairs, and i can put my hair up without feeling insecure. the fine vellus hairs near my hairline are growing significantly as well. my forehead appears to have reduced by at least 1.5 cm. i’ve always had a small patch of low hair density right at the middle of my hairline, and that has filled in completely. i wouldn’t have tried this if i hadn’t heard Dr. Linkov talk about minoxidil in his videos.
Can you Show me pls with pics, i have the same Problem.
I'm glad its working for you too.
i used it for 8 months and my vellus hair didnt go terminal. At least they haven fallen out ig

Finally after I tried everything, this oral minoxidil works for me. It takes about 3-4 months to see result. After 6 months significantly visible
I'm gay and super scared of getting a hairy back, find it icky lolol
Congratulations!

Is it easy to get a prescription for oral minox? Also is it more expensive than the topical variant?
Do you know of a randomized study that monitored the cardio vascular effects of oral minoxidil prescribed at low dose?
Heart palpitations not to be messed with.
Same happened to me. I instead now use minoxidil with trochee format. Literally have 0 side effects compared to oral. No fast heart beat or tiredness. I mean literally no sides anymore

Doc, would you still recommend derma-rolling or derma-pen if using oral minoxidil? Or is it only beneficial if paired in conjunction with topical minoxidil?
Good question!
You can put it on facial hair yet when you stop the hairs dont fall out
It's only permanent if you don't have a condition working against the effects of the medication, like it happens when men want beards.

Thanks!

Doc, did you ever do a video on yourself? I think that would be a good video.

I was on these for a year and only had a small amount of new growth, still experienced hair loss and the occasional painful scalp. I ended up stopping as the cost to see her plus the medication just seemed impractical to me. Do you have theories as to why this did not work for me and any possible other suggestions? Do you recommend the oral Mino over Finasteride and Dustaride? I don't want to take the Fin or Dust because of their shedding and worst side effects, which many have reported they weren't reversed for them after stopping the meds.
Thanks, Doc.
Bro those natural remedies not gon do anything go get a prescription for finasteride

I had a bad shedding phase on oral 2.5mg. regrowth is coming now though
I'm on 34 days on oral 2.5mg, experienced a strong shed first weeks, at what time can i expect regrowth?
Would generic oral minoxidil be just as good as Loniten, the Pfizer brand name?
i just fell in love with this doctor
I wish I started using this much earlier
Hi doctor, do you think long term of using oral or topical minoxidil can have a negative effect on the blood pressure ? reduce the blood pressure too much permanently, by dilating the arteries or blood vessels too much?
There are no long term saftey data on this so they have no idea of its effects over time. If you are considering taking this drug I would suggest speaking to a cardiologist and not a plastic surgeon.
I take 2.5 mg alone with topical finesteride mixed with 5% minoxidil. Works great for me.
Hii...can you please tell me for how many days u r using it? And are you taking the oral tablet daily?

Thank you for answering all my questions, I was considering starting this ❤❤❤
@Lilly Fox Thank you ❤️
What about low dose Tadalafil instead?
But the majority of folk don't suffer any sides ! It surely must come down to we are all built differently, some experience sides, most don't !
But doesn’t oral minoxidil cause hair growth everywhere ? Some of us don’t want to be hairy all over
If females can get all these surgeries then guys can get hairline transplants
Yeah. It grows all over... Ive been reading the comments
I'm taking 1mg at bedtime for thyroid and anemia hairloss. First week. We will see!
I hope you're doing well. Have you been seeing results ?
Is it safe to take minoxidil if I have high blood pressure? Or should try lowering it first.
I'd also like to know if oral minoxidil is compatible with hypertension medication.
Dr. Linkov, how safe is oral minoxidil?
1000% This video is infuriating. The drug is known to be dangerous and there exists no reliable safety data for the doses mentioned.
yes I am also using one month oral minoxidil now two days i had a low BP and fast heart beat then BP 90/70

Do you still need to take Finistaride if you take oral minoxidil?
Great video! I'm curious if there are any benefits or risks with taking both oral minoxidil and finasteride
Not a doc but as far as I've seen on countless threads and discussions, it just has risk of each side effect, there's no real danger of amplified effects or anything like that.
Could this treatment be considered for long term without finasteride?
Minoxidil gave me heart palpitations. I stopped taking it. I shaved my head and now feel better. No more hair worries😀
cool., youre one of the just shave it bro, bros

Are the side effects worth it?
I tired everything including finasteride, the only think that worked for me was 5mg oral minoxidil, i started at 2.5mg for 3 months, my hair got really thick but no major regrowth until i upped it to 5mg, it has been working great for me the only side effects is hair everwhere in your body.
5mg a day?
So do you use it as a standalone treatment without finasteride? Where are the hairs on your body?
How bald were you. And in what areas of your head.
Is it safe for people with low blood pressure?
3 questions:
1. Can someone with low blood pressure take it?
2. Can you use it in combination with topical minoxidil?
3. How does one transition from the topical form to the oral form?
Thanks!
Talk to your doctor. My doctor placed me on 0.125 mg per day.
@@youngchristie5188 The questions are for Dr. Linkov. Thanks!
1. Need cardiology clearance
2. No need. Just drop the topical.
3. Stop the topical and start taking the pill, that's it.

Hi dr.Linkov , is there any different information for patients with a hair transplant? Does these informations apply for these occansions aswell?
Dear doctor, thanks a lot for the information 😊
1) Is it ok to take oral minoxidil while talking finasteride and biotin ?
(please note I started finasteride three weeks before)
2)Can I buy minoxidil tables from the pharmacy? I am living in Germany Berlin ( i can get prescription from a doctor)
Thanks lot for your amazing support!
Not too much improvement. A transplant would be more effective.
most benefit you would see with a sharpie. kidding. just dont do that smp BS, i.e. tattoo your bald head. it works for some black guys, but mostly looks ridiculous in real life.
Minoxidil won't help in this case, neither will finasteride. Hair transplant or shave it off. The choice is yours.
Correct. Which is why it’s not recommended as mono-therapy. Finasteride is the preferred additional medication for many.
@@drgarylinkov I guess I'm out then. I've been debating for months about starting oral minoxidil at 58. I've already decided the risks of finasteride are not worth it. I have no bald spots but noticed the hair on the top of my head is thinning much more now and I hate it.

So helpful.

I have started this 2 months ago, been meeting this girl, I am getting less and less confident. hope it starts to regrow soon.
Been on oral minoxidil almost 2 months this 17th. Taking 1.25mg a day.
Is actually insane how great it made my hairline until the shed. My hairline got destroyed. 70 hairs a day in the shower.
Yeah please bro do you have Reddit?
There's a shed phase with the oral minoxidil??? 😭😭😭

Not worth the risk of skin aging even if it doesn't happen to everyone.
Being bald or balding makes you look older
Hi doctor. Linkov, would you give a review of NANOXIDIL?
Thanks
Most people do great switching to oral form.
Heyy man ur using minoxidil for 20 years am also on minoxidil am just 20 I wanted to know will it be constant as after 20 year's or anything happens? And do you use minoxidil Or combination of finestride? Let me know
Did your hair get better
Any update?
Do you think you would be able to ship to Canada in the future?
Definitely oral minoxidil is way better than topical minoxidil, I have it with dutasteride and I have seen way better gains than those 2 in topical, 0.5 dutasteride and 2.5 mg of oral minoxidil and no side effects of anything. good libido, good energy, 0 depression, and just more hair growing. Best, well actually one side effect that I don't like of oral minoxidil is that not only head hairs grows thicker, but everywhere else, like my face and and body, and I don't like that, but besides that, is more simpler and good for me at least.
Neither dutasteride or oral minoxidill worked for me. Continued to thin out.
Maybe placebo, i dont think topical is better, unless u are a non respond to topical
