I have tried numerous other kick spindles on the market. The True Creations spindle is the Cadillac. The other types don't have the smooth, long spin time or the beauty of a meticulously hand crafted piece of Heirloom equipment. I can't recommend this spindle highly enough! I love the way that it folds down into a small compact package. It is perfect for taking to spin-ins when you don't want to drag a heavy wheel along. I'd like to add that I'm an experienced spinner of ten+ years and have bought and sold more than my share of spinning equipment. This one is a keeper!
This is so beautiful! I just flipped an old bike and removed the rear wheel.. the walking wheel built itself after that. A double pointed need through the frame, a drive band. And some floof, done! Kick stand tied to a pedal acts as a holder for a little pile of floof also...
I wish it was more affordable because I really like it but there are at least two different complete spinning wheels with lazy kates & more bobbins I could buy for close to the price this costs or less. And they are travel wheels too. And the TC wheel is even unfinished for this price which makes it even harder for me to justify.
I do not know this gentleman, but it is clear the cost is a result of selling a well engineered product, beautifully executed by a craftsman. The cost covers not only the time to create each item, but for his experience, his design, and quality materials. If you want more “affordable”, there are mass produced or lower quality items available to purchase. There is no comparison to be made here.
I should have known when I read the words 'functional art' it would be more than a normal person could afford. And unfinished too. I guess if you stick the word art on something you can charge 3x. Surely it doesn't cost even a 20th of that in materials or a 10th in time. Sometimes it seems like SOME of the people who spin don't want other people to start spinning. Almost like the prices are so high to keep it exclusive of everyday people. Oh well
I have been spinning 35 years, love this - gorgeous, so smooth!

How do you ply wool with the kick spindle?

Very nice, I can see how enjoyable using one would be.
Super nice - want one!
Where can I buy one
I would love this
wow- this is fantastic!
I've heard of this one a lot!! Want one so bad now!!! :P
Think I gummed up my bearings when sanding to finish it. So mad at myself. Will try 3 in 1 oil.
I can see why this would be nice in an apartment, or other smaller living conditions. But so would an e-spinner.
The body ergonomics of this look terrible. Is there a way to not twist so far around when using it?
Sure. The spinner in the video liked to twist far. You by no means have to twist that far..
The spinner having to bend down to start spinning again seems like her back would get sore after a while.

Buy a drop spindle then? It’s a very niche hobby these days of course it’s expensive
oooooh I want one!!!!!
I like it but it's too expensive! Its costs more than an Ashford Kiwi 3
Что можно сказать по данному механизму он рабочий но не очень удобная посадка пару часов в таком положении и весь остальной день спина будет болеть
I was hoping for a ‘ how to tutorial’ …..?
Oh no I just found a new hobby
Eventually this will evolve into a spinning wheel.
