Strumming Pattern for Piano

- Guitar players know all about strumming patterns. When you play a song, you sing the music while strumming the chords according to the strumming pattern. That’s how most people play the guitar.
I bet you’d be surprised to know you can do the same exact thing on the piano.
You don’t strum the piano, but there are “strumming” patterns for piano. Meaning: patterns you play the chords to, which will make them sound interesting (just like on guitar).
Most people don’t think of piano this way because the culture of piano is all about reading notes. But, you can do chords just as on the guitar.
I want to help you play your guitar songs on the piano. So, I’m going to teach you a strumming pattern.
Let’s say you’ve got a bunch of chords like C, Am, F, G. On the guitar, you’d play them one at a time, putting your left hand into the chord position and then strumming with your right hand.
Here’s where piano is different:
On the piano, you use BOTH hands to play the chord. And, BOTH hands play the strumming pattern.
On the piano, the notes for the chord DEPEND on the strumming pattern. It’s not like on guitar where you just plant your hand in the “C chord position” and expect that to work for any old strumming pattern.
Here’s what you should do: pick one strumming pattern and then play all the chords according to that pattern. In other words, choose the pattern FIRST.
👇 Your first piano strumming pattern 👇
1. Play a C in your left hand. Then, play C E G in your right hand 4 times.
2. Play an A in your left hand. Then, play A C E in your right hand 4 times.
3. Play an F in your left hand. Then, play F A C in your right hand 4 times.
4. Play a G in your left hand. Then, play G B D in your right hand 4 times.
Now you can play your guitar songs on the piano.
it's sounds like the good ol' times, keep it up!

Glad you like it. Tell me more about yourself
I taught it was hard after 3 min i learn it
*good ole: 1, m6, 4, 5*

Which songs we can play in it Love from ❤🇮🇳
This pattern will work for thousands of songs. Once you know the chords, you just do this pattern with those chords.

strumming?
isn't just that the chord progression of heart and soul?
Thanks for your question. I'm not sure what you mean by "just", though.
just means that it really sounds like the chord progression of heart and soul@@MichaelKorman
@@vinzzy71no one really owns a chord progression as it’s impossible to not use the same chords as someone else somewhere but they do have the same progression
@@isaiahminott ye that's what I meant but ig I didn't say it the right way
Omg i have the same piano as you!
Omg it's destiny
@@MichaelKorman😂😂😂
@@Lyyhaerin and you even think I'm funny. Perfect
The thin ice
Is this a song?
C Am F G is actually also for heart and soul. a classic duet piano
This is one of the most common chord progressions in modern music
I got in 10 sec.
Peppy
The fingering is not comfortable
It shows the difference between noobs and pros he should be doing 135 or 124 or 125😊
@@ali_gd_0161 i'm more confussed by him using 2 hands for this progression
Do a 10-day silent meditation retreat. It'll help you get in touch with your body.
My piano teacher would vomit seeing this finger placement. You should use the fingers 1 3 5 here if you don't wanna break your hand
@@ferrangarcia1289 Does my hand look broken to you? When I work with people one-on-one, I help them find the coordination that works for them and their own body. It's different for everyone.
I’ve watched this about 10 times, and I still don’t understand what you’re trying to teach us here….???
You say, “Here is a strumming pattern for piano. The progression is:
C-Am-F-G”. …. “If we use a different strumming pattern, then the notes of the chord are going to be
different”, “but, (you then fumble up a couple of words which can’t be understood as to what you’re saying) “you gotta start with a pattern”… End quote.
I really don’t understand at all what you’re trying to teach us here. I see and fully understand its a simple progression, C,Am,F,G, a common progression of the 1950’s used in many old ballads etc..
But then you start to say “If we use a different strumming pattern the notes in the chords are going to be different…. ??? What has the “strumming pattern” got to do with the notes in the chords at all?? I don’t understand. It seems to me any “strumming pattern” could be used while maintaining the same notes.
Perhaps I’m just entirely missing the point of this video. I’m actually a guitarist, but have always fooled around a bit on piano/keyboard.
What am I not seeing here???
Thanks! JM
The order of the notes is dependent on the pattern
thats not even a pattern
