boss man used his climbing skills to get on that fallen tree. a father having to save his entire family can be a unstoppable force. thanks EM n JADE for sharing these personal incidents and windows into your lives.
I remember that year and the years after. Bridges were out and working in the affected areas was a nightmare. The company I work for worked on the cleanup. It was the first time I had seen flood damage on tops of mountains. The story you tell about what you Dad did was heroic! The determination of saving one’s family is a force of nature.

I know I'm late to this video, but that was very touching. I could tell how much it affected your young lives and how absolutely determined your parents were in saving you. Oddly, I grew up just north of where you are and lived through a flood when the Tioga (PA) and Chemung (NY) rivers flooded. Lived in a church evacuation center for 8-days and my mother the RN would take the people the National Guard flights would bring in and check them out. I spent an entire summer helping clean up the area. That smell you described is still etched in my psyche and always will be...
My goodness ladies this certainly is a powerful life changing event. Your dad is an honest hero who put his family first. I’m a little old man and I teared up. You two will be brave for your own families someday.
I took me 3 times to watch this video it brought back scary memories to me, I survived being trapped underwater in my car in 1982. I tried twice to get out, water was filling the inside of the car up, I put my head down and said Lord help, my next conscious thought was that I was walking through water. I went to my friends house and he and his dad went to the scene and found my car 150 down the road with all windows up and all doors locked. Devine intervention? I'm glad you all made it out ok. Brian
Wow! Great job of telling a gut wrenching story of survival. Your parents are extraordinary! Your dad put his life on the line to save his family. It's obvious you two have the same core values.
Thank you for the frank and heartfelt story of some of your family’s history. This is what makes us stronger and the family bond stable. I have, in the past, marvelled at the apparent strength of the family unit that is visible in your videos, but now I see, partly at least, where this originates. You are all survivors and much stronger people than some of the “princesses” I see sometimes. Heroes one and all!😁👍🏆
So sorry you experienced that. I'll bet it bonded you even tighter as a family. You mentioned praying to God. I hope you thank him that your lives were spared. Love your family.
i sure loved hearing about your dad. he sounds like the kind of man the rest of us can respect and admire. he is a blessing to your family. i can hear how much you appreciate him, and i bet all of you make sure he is aware of that. good for you, (all) and God bless. God, family, country.
I lived through a flood back in 1973 when I was 16 years old. At that time my family lived 4 miles from the Mississippi River. We ended up with 18 inches of muddy water in our house which doesn't sound like all that much compared with your experience but still did a lot of damage and required a total remodel of our house. While you were telling your story it brought up a bunch of old memories of the things I experienced during my disaster. As you said, water is extremely powerful and dangerous, and a flood not only does unbelievable damage but can take lives, livelihoods, and shatters your emotional well-being. Being faced with your mortality can certainly change your life. I too, remember the "smell." We began cleanup at our house by mopping the floor with bleach and then just hosing out all of the mud (I bet we did that 20 or more times). I don't think the smell ever fully went away and we took every wall to the studs in the remodel. Life is precious, and your story proves how much your dad values each member of your family. Don't ever doubt his love, you saw it on full display that night. Tragedy has a way of drawing families and communities together. I could tell you story after story of things that took place during that time in my life as I'm sure you can regarding this event in your lives. This has obviously made you stronger women and strengthened the bond of love in your family. I pray that God will continue to bless your lives as you will obviously continue to grow to become exceptional young women.
your dad did what a father should have done! Family is all there is at times like that! your parents did what they should have done and they loved you so very much they would have gave their lives that night! God Bless them and you!
Until you have lost everything except what’s on your back !! It’s hard to explain it to someone else I know from experience and hear that in your voice as you tell the story!!! You are truly blessed and you know it !!
Wow! That must have been very traumatic for you all. Well done for sticking to the task and coming through it. Your dad sounds like he fought like a lion to save you all.
I am north of you in New York State. I lost my home in that 2011 flood. Water reached 4 feet shy of the roof. So I understand clearly the challenge you went through. Fortunately I got to high ground in time. My house was 85 years old and had never been touched by flood prior to my buying it in 2004.
I find it very appropriate, that your dad found a way across , using a tree to guide y'all to the other side ... I'm sure glad y'all made it safely as a family and God Bless you all , each and everyone of you 💗💗💗💗💗

As a father I know how rare it is to have a first hand story of tragedy like this told from his children's point of view. Your story from your point of view is rare and priceless, a treasure to preserve for future generations.
I understand your Dad's unstoppable determination. A man's family is his soul and no father would not give his last breath for that family he holds dear. This I know because I had to literally carry my 3 year old daughter out of the midst of a devastating cat 3 tornado and my only direction was dependence on God.. though much was lost, my daughter as well as myself were safe with just minor injuries. It truly doesn't matter to me what others think, Jesus has given us an inestimable gift by having access to God Himself through himself. I believe that is what kept and protected me and my young daughter, and as I reckon that is what gave your Dad the strength and direction to get you guys out.... Know and lived your story well. Live in Johnstown Pa. South west of you. Famous for three floods here that destroyed about everything. Your so right on how you never know unless you’ve been in it. And after the shock settles, the real work starts of cleaning and rebuilding. Had to chuckle about the smell of flood mud. Still get the shivers if I get a hint of it. So glad your all safe and strong. Bob in Johnstown
I'm in southern N.H,and witnessed a freak flood,20 miles from home,on way home from VT,a large group of us ended up trapped on a small piece of high ground, refrigerators and couches blasting over the main road, bulldozers trying to make dams,I was 16 then,so this story I very much understand,I'll say again,I'm blessed by the algorithm for finding your channel
I can tell you from my own life, when crisis come and there is no way out, God always makes a way and He is always with me when these things happen. May God bless your family and keep you safe.
Disaster preparedness is a REAL thing that we have forgotten. Everyone should have a plan for the top 3 MOST LIKELY natural disasters . ALWAYS keep multiple flashlights and extra batteries in every vehicle. I have a headlamp that will provide light for 4 hours on high. 6 hours on low. Every vehicle should have a backpack with one or two MREs, multiple ways to start fires, spare wool socks, and a lifestraw or sawyer water filter. Also a handfull of mylar blankets. Less than $2 each at walmart. Glad y'all made it out.
Thanks for sharing your stories. I was wondering about the rain there in "meet the team" video. Keep up the great work y'all. The first time I saw the phosphorous moss was in Tennessee it was in a thick, high canopy forest. It gets really dark even when it's not raining. If you fortunate on one of your vacations at the beach you can experience tiny phosphorous baby jelly fish, the size of peas. Swimming at night with those glowing jellies is like living out some fantastic story book. Thanks again for bringing sunshine. Cheers!
Just came across your video. Can’t imagine what your family went through. I’ve subscribed. Now being 71 years old I took a nap soon after. I left You tube playing. I woke up to a beautiful piano playing. And looked at the screen to see who it was. There was a bible verse across the screen which accompanied the piano. It read “ When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not over take you….. Isaiah 43 : 2. Now that was awesome . That verse stayed there for awhile as the piano continued. Had to share that with you.

That story was amazing. Definition of family right there. Your dad is an amazing man, he may be moody and you might not be able to ask him questions until the end of the day but he is always looking out for your family. Really happy you guys are alive! I can’t get over that and how that must of felt especially your mom with a one year old. God bless you guys and I’m so excited to meet you!
Great story, sets the stage for what you have accomplished since and in the future. You should write it down with quotes from each of you for family history. Date it and let your grandchildren read it someday.
Im so glad you're all here and well today! I'm from middle NY but every year I go up to Sonestown PA for a bday trout fishing party for my buddy..and Ive seen the damage those floods can do..whole bridges and even homes washed away. You're dad is incredible, hope you guys sell firewood bundles! I would love to buy one for my buddies cabin
The power of water is amazing. I lived near a creek for a while I learned quick to watch the weather constantly and if they called for heavy rain to watch the creek. I had 2 points I watched. Water reached the first point I started putting stuff in the house up high. It reached the 2nd point I took the family out. Got flooded 2 or 3 times. Said I would never live near a creek again so I bought property on a hill and moved. Can't imagine this from a kids prospective. Thanks for sharing your powerful story.
Great story.Made me cry.Your mom and dad are the true hero,s.What a parent will go through for our children has no limits. It makes one appreciate them even more.
Listening to the story of the flood and all the trials your family went through is amazing! As i listened to you all i could see was how God hand working to protect you all and making sure you all made it to safety and then Blessing your family with all the help rebuilding and sheltering you all while the building was going on, Wow what an Awesome God we have!!! Thank you for sharing with us and i hope you see the blessings and keep giving God the Praise. Thank you and God Bless.
Those glowing plants we have so many of that here in the PNW that when we clear tress from an area and disturb the ground during the day that night will be filled with glowing fungus which glows green to see a big area of cleared forest glowing like that is magical I used to gather it all up and put it in a mason jar and it created a mason jar light bulb that really lite up the cabin.
I am in western Pennsylvania and we had a couple floods within a week of each other. You said about the smell yes it is one you never forget, great job your dad did with getting y’all to safety
After following your channel for a couple of years now I have cpome to really admire your faamily. Emerald is quite the professional as are Jade, Samantha, and Judah, Love your work ethic and devotion to the family. Dad and Mom I know are very proud ofd you all. May God's Blessings and Protection be wiht you always.
I remember that flud I am north of you we didn't get hit as bad as you but we had Severe flooding thankfully our house was high and dry.great videos Keep up the good Work
Like you said, raging water is just not something that can be described or filmed, but up close its power, even in a smaller stream, is impressive and fightening. It will be interesting to hear part two. Has your stream flooded since then?
Wonderful story of your Dad’s courage and persistence for the love of his family. No wonder you all are so strong. Every child needs parents like this strong and loving Mom and Dad! Lost my home here in WV in the 1985 flood of the Greenbrier River. . Built back 9’ in the air and the 1996 flood went right under me. We called it “Killing Waters!” Your story is surely one of love and survival! You have surely matured into two strong young women! Judah is lucky to have two big sisters like you all! Hail to the “Boss”!!!!!
So glad that you and your family survived the ordeal. Having been through multiple floods, I feel your pain. Your dad is an extremely brave man who was guided by his love for his family. You can do superhuman things when your kids are in jeopardy.
Wow great story of courage and survival. Saw your place on a sattellite map and considering how far you are from from Lycoming creek that was very bad flood. Happy tour family is alive and well.
That's amazing and miraculous. Being a parent and grandparent I can feel the sheer terror ur Mom and Dad were dealing with. I know these kind of things cannot be explained as to what it does to those who survive it together. I know it to be an undeniable, unconditional lifelong bond. You guys have a wonderful family and its fantastic to see the ethos of your love. The glowing plants were gifts from above.

This video is the reason I have so much respect for the Boss. What an incredible life story.
You girls did a fantastic job on that story. Thanks for sharing this.

Like you said, raging water is just not something that can be described or filmed, but up close its power, even in a smaller stream, is impressive and fightening. It will be interesting to hear part two. Has your stream flooded since then?
What a remarkable story. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes for 2022 xx
Seriously tough story to hear. God bless you and your family. Early American tough and loving.
That must have been difficult to talk through. Thanks for sharing.x
