I've been a pretty big MGK fan in the past. I appreciated this review so much. This was the first project where I really couldn't relate to the immaturity of his songwriting, and Fantano helped me understand why.
I also appreciated that he really thought about what was going on here and why. He hasn't done that in past MGK reviews, which felt lazy. This review felt like a genuine response.

As someone who isn’t even a MGK hater and actually likes _some_ of his music, (mainly his more mature songs with decent writing and actual bars, such as the content on Hotel Diablo) this EP was horrific. Pure unadulterated cringe. I almost dare to say it’s even worse than Mainstream Sellout.

I wish you talked about the beats more, I knew from the get go that their delivery was half assed and the lyrics are all phoned in or “freestyled” but I was really surprised by the beats on this thing. Like “beauty” despite MGK delivery has an amazing sample to me, I just wish we could hear you discuss the producing more, I think Slim and others did really good on the production.
