- I took a Hyundai Ioniq 5 on 1000 km road trip challenge - adventure. Camping mode, range, efficiency, charging has been tested. Cost calculated. But it has been not only a car review road trip, but an adventure too with a hike in a beautiful landscape of Norway. So, please, my dear viewers, sit back and enjoy this journey as I've enjoyed it so much! Cheers!
Road trips are awesome! Great video! 😊😁🚗
Nice video, thanks! Battery pack was below 15°C when you received 70kW, over 15°C battery accepts 115kW (battery heater used 5kW), and over 20°C charging speed is 140kW. Obd2 adapter and Car Scanner ElmObd2 app will show battery temperature, pretty useful in winter :)
Thank you so much!!! ☺️ I believe that could be the reason for slow charging, quite low temperatures 🤔
@@drifting.coconut If you see battery temperature on your phone, you will know exactly what your charging speed at CCS charger will be :)
@@EV_OBD for sure I need to use that. Thanks for the tip 🙌🏼
Swiss knife is an amazing thing ! So fun your trip! And I love the Ioniq 5
Thanks a lot!!! I love that Swiss knife ☺️
A very natural vlog with the ioniq in a naturally beautiful country. Thanks for your effort, edit and great views :)
Thanks a lot! Such a nice comment! 😊 It motivates to move forward 🚗💨
Great video, Beautiful Norway!
Thank you sooooo much! ☺️
That is a cool camping setup you have.
I like that you have a book about Australia!
Aaron
Brisbane, Australia
Thank you so much Aaron! ☺️ I have that book, because I love Australia, I’ve been there once and planning to go back and explore unexplored 🤠 I just love those “bloody long way” road trips 😄
Great video 👍🏻👌🏻
Thanks a lot! 🙌🏼😊
Looks beautiful there
Thanks and yes, Norway is just stunning! 😍
Nice!
Thank you!!! 🙌🏼☺️
Is Norwegian not available in the ioniq5?
The 18 minute charge speed is on 350KW chargers since the car maxes out at 220 or 225kw. So the 150's won't get you there but it should still have achieved higher speeds at that first charger unless it was really cold then it's take longer for the battery to warm up to get those higher speeds
Honestly, it didn’t reached 220kW power of charging, very strange. Might be cold weather but still, should charge at least close to 200kW power.
Is winter mode on? Winter mode should help to get battery warm in winter.
Thank you for your comment! 😊 I think I completely forgot about Winter mode for the battery 🤔
Ioniq5 is more than just a car !
It’s a dream!!! 😌
Next ➡️➡️ Australia 🚙🙃
You are reading my mind! 😲😆☺️🙌🏼🇦🇺🦘
👍
😊 Thank you, Tadas!
If u had the passenger seat all the way to the front…can u lay flat all the way in the back? How tall are you?
Thanks for your comment! I’m 189cm tall and I didn’t need to move passenger seat that much to forward. I believe if you move it all the way, you will get almost 2 meters.
@@drifting.coconut thank you so much for your response!!!!!!!
Presume it’s got the 73kwh battery?
You are right! It has 72.6kWh battery 🙂
Camper Mode??
Yes, to be continued in the second part 😊
Good video. In regards to charging speed...based on other long trip videos in the Ioniq 5.... It seems you cannot precondition the battery before charging like you can in a Tesla. It is when you start charging the Ionic 5 start conditioning (heating) the battery....it is only when the battery reaches 20 degrees celsius that the fast charging seems to start....thus what seems the first 5 to 10 minutes is very slow or slow charging...in one of the video thr charging went from 25 kw/h. To 177 kw/h when the battery temperature add risen around or even over 30 degree....search UA-cam for videos by Bjorn Nyland for Ioniq 5 1000 miles roadtrip....all in Norway and Sweden.
It seems like it is like you say. I have seen Bjørn videos. He is a nice guy with many car reviews in a bucket 😁 Thank you so much for such a great comment! 🙌🏼😊
Every time I need to charge fast on Ionity for example, I set Winter mode on (preheating battery) about 50 kilometres before charging station. Immediately I get 150-210 kW based on SoC and other conditions. The only thing is that I must set it manually. In Tesla does it work automatically everywhere even on Ionity? Because I think I can’t see other chargers on the way. If you want to go to Estonia with no Superchargers by Tesla you need to use another software and in that case you don’t have preheating right?
The annoying music makes it impossible to watch the whole video
Which part is annoying for you, just wondering? There are few tracks.
Would it be better without music at all? 🤔
And thank you for your honest comment! 😊🙌🏼
@@drifting.coconut the first part especially ❤️
Too loud, avoid "rock". Also, you should use a microphone. :-)
👍
Thanks, Tadas! ☺️
