I recognised the place in the first second of the video, just off London Fields. I lived in London, Poplar area for several years and cycled most days around London as part of my work. I just ordered this coffee machine as an upgrade from my De Longhi Magnifica S which lacks some finer controls.., but is still going well after 4 years. The Sage is arriving Wednesday, let's see if it can do better job taste wise than the De Longhi. Nice video 🙂👍
I would say pre heating the portafilter is more important than pre heating the cup. A cold portafilter will suck alot of the heat from the water in the portafilter. The cup will be heated up by the quantity steamed milk (an espresso would be more important to pre heat the glass / cup). Nice overall video though
Tip : You must right away after the steaming milk wipe it with a clean cloth & release pressure and wipe again the noozzle. Plus when pouring the milk into the espresso hold the glass or the cup ... Just my though hehehehe would like also to purchase soon espresso machine , but sage is bit expensive .
I don't know how to preheat the glass. The instruction didn't work for me. You didn't emphasize which buttons to press throughout the whole thing. But I managed to make a nice cup of coffee thanks to you.
Great machine, the sound of the birds makes me long for summer again. Bloody winter just started, happy to have at least some good coffe to get through with it :)
Hi I have sent the same machine and the same beans but can’t seem to get it to flow between 8&10 seconds. Is always around 6/7. Can I ask what setting you use please?
Hello! Very good video and presentation! I love this machine but I read something about the extract temperature of the coffee. Can you tell me if an espresso shot is hot enough? Around 93 degrees as mentioned in the manual? Thanks in advance for your feedback!
The crema comes from a good quality bean. Have a look at a local roastery or an online one to buy fresh roast beans, then you'll get an incredible crema.
How many seconds did your extraction last for? 😭 I currently have mine set at a Grind Size of 8, Amount at 11.5, Pre Infusion stops at 8 secs and Extraction stops at 36 seconds. I just got it and need A LOT of help 🥴🤕😭
Very nice video and a lovely looking flat white. I usually do 14gms for my flat whites, but everyone is a bit different. Would love to hear your thoughts on getting this model and not the Oracle. Cheers
@@karls8586 yes I agree, but the hardness of your water will make a difference to the capacity of your filter. You should always aim to use filtered water in all coffee machines. Unless you live in Scottish highlands - the water is incredibly if not too soft here.

A new coffee machine is rusting like crazy. It makes good coffee but the quality of the stainless steel elements is a joke. And then there are the stupid lines from the customer service person that you can clean it, I wonder how with sandpaper? Not to mention the hard-working steam and water switch. It would be a big problem to accept the product under warranty. It would be enough to replace the rusty and properly working one and I would be able to continue enjoying good coffee. But of course, because of one person in the customer support department, everything gets complicated. Lack of respect for customers.
Secret of making a NICE ESPRESSO. (I am having a Breville - The Barista Pro Coffee Machine. I am using a DOUBLE FILTER for one cup coffee. Hence I hope you will experience the same effect when making a cup of coffee) When making a espresso, you must notice the coffee drippings out of the filter. They (coffee drippings) have summarily 3 distinct colors of changing stages. They (coffee drippings) are: (1) Black dark color .... VERY BITTER (2) Golden color ..... NO BITTER (3) Light yellow color ..... WATERY If you like BITTER, then get (1) and (2) above. If you want NO BITTER at all, try to get (2) ONLY.... This is the BEST TASTE at all. So, when you see this LIGHT YELLOW COLOR ==> PRESS "TURN OFF" YOUR COFFEE DRIPPING! DON'T EVER GET (3), because it is too WATERY, meaning too much water added to your coffee is no good. Hence, too much milk into your ESPRESSO also give you not a nice taste, as you also feel TOO WATERY.
They make good coffee but their design is flawed! I’ve had two machines and it will always leak water onto your worktop. This is not a fault as they claim, but they won’t admit it’s a bad design.
Birds are awesome in the background.

Time to have an upgrade.😎

The water should be around 93 c degrees, but your grind fineness/coarseness and extraction time is way more important.
cool machine buddy! how do you like it a year later?
How tall is it with the bean holder on top?
wow! what are your settings for such a great crema? why did you keep finger on the button ?
I'd really like to know the answer to both of those questions too please!

11.5 grams? you need 18 grams minimum imo, and then you get 20-25 seconds with 36 grams of coffee out
Please let me know if you are happy with it.. 1 year+ later. I m about to buy it and i need your feedback. does it worth it ?
Cool video, thanks.
what grind size do you use?
1
Was that manchester in that shot in the beginning?
It's Mentmore Terrace, London Fields, Regents Canal, Hackney, London.
how big is the glass you used?
A very excellent video, superbly shot pardon the pun and i've made my mind up keep up the great work
Could you tell me what colour this is? Black Truffle or Black Stainless Steel?
I believe this is black stainless steel. I ordered the same one and am waiting for its arrival.
Where can we find the awesome rabbit tamper? Asking for my wife ;)
does this drink meant to drink just like that without adding sugar?
Syrup is the most widely used
Great video
i really like your explanation
A very pretty video that's nicely put together and edited but it certainly is not a review.
Lost me at 1:04 of your video. Does the instant hot water outlet come on magically, because I didn’t see any buttons being pushed.
On the right hand side of the machine, where the knob is for the steam, you turn it away from you for the water.
pls tell me why my coffee so watery?
I never had this crema,it is always so watery, even when I put it on 6 nad press it hard. no crema on cup, only a dark brown coffee.
I'm no pro, but from what I've read, make sure Beans are fresh roasted.
Oh Dear. It’s amazing

Please.. use filtered or bottled water. You'll eventually be surprised at the scale build up inside the machine. It will also taste way better!
You're not allowed to use pre-filtered water inside the Sage machines. The manual explicitly tells you not to. The filter does that for you.
@@didiercatz the filters supplied are not great. Best to use bottled water for longevity of filter and machine 👍
@@sepnowrouz8870 That all depends on what the hardness of your water supply is.

Why is this model cheaper than ses875?
Overhere the 878 is + 100€ compared to the 875. (digital display, faster on temparature)

That's not a coffe with milk, that's milk with a little bit coffe
Every cappucino, latte, latte macchiato etc you've ever had were made with a single shot of espresso.

I wouldn't even make tea for this, it doesn't follow the principles of making coffee .. it just makes a bad name for the Sage brand
