I thought I was old at 71 and it looks like I'm the youngster haha. Got my new harp yesterday and I am loving this guy Adam. Can't get the bending yet but I am working on it. Good luck Arthur.
Got me a harmonica just cheap from local supermarket and following your videos and I'm hooked. My grandfather played years ago and I have no idea why I didnt show interest when I was younger. Regret it soo much now. Love the videos and I'm taking notes. Thank you so much for putting the 40 years effort in so I can play catch up now.
New to the hermonica not music and this is by far the best man on the tube to view for getting up and running im so glad he teaches in a way that will make u think listen and try !!!
thank you so much for these lessons. I played clarinet and bass clarinet for almost 10 years and because I live in a flat now clarinet really is too loud to practice, thus I started practicing harmonica. One thing that I missed in these beginner lectures is how to do a proper embouchure and once I lowered my jaw and pressed tongue on the bottom of my mouth, that 2 draw finally sounded like a note and not a seal crying. Thank you once again for the knowledge you are sharing
Dear mister Gussow, I am soo glad to learn from you. I watch your videos almost everyday, and really learn a lot! Thank you for doing this. You’re such a great teacher! 😎👍🏻
It's funny, I'm looking at the 101 likes (one of them mine) vs. the 5 dislikes, and I'm thinking Who the heck felt that this was enough of a waste of their time to actually click the "thumbs down"? Whatever. I find your tutorials immensely helpful.
It is surprising, isn't it? My hunch is that some people are still angry at a recent video I did in which I pushed back, gently and respectfully, but also firmly and directly, against our current president's comment that four duly elected members of the U.S. Congress, three of whom were born in America, should "go back where they came from." So they've now decided to vote thumbs down--even in the face of something helpful and briskly paced like this. It's funny! I have an image of Clint Eastwood in GRAN TORINO growling "Rrrrrrrrrrghhhhh!" at the whole world.
Just picked up my old harp again, and decided to check out some of the new tutorials around. Cant believe you're still around Adam, that's some serious dedication
Just bought my harmonica yesterday and, after following your videos, I can follow most of the beginner ones. Keep them coming mate! Cheers from Australia
Harmonica is one of those instruments that people have the easiest time to play and pick-up initially making lots of progress from the time they pick up the instrument but drastically tapering in improvement thereafter. Hope you stuck with it and continue to improve!
K P That is so interesting! TG I have the adhd super power and must fiddle around with something. Constantly. Maybe I am over zealous bc my memory left for lunch 5 years ago and has never clocked back in. Now don't you be telling everyone I return to the same lessons over and over like we are both brand new again. See ya in 6 months!

I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for doing these videos and really breaking things down. Between your videos and a friend who’s been playing for 20-30 years I’m well on my way to playing the blues. You’re the man brotha!!!
I got a harmonica 2 weeks ago. I must watch about half an hour of your videos a day. Your personality and clarity of instructions are second to none on UA-cam. I'll definitely be buying lessons off your site when I get paid
@Passebani how you doing. Lol yeah I got decent. If a tune is written down with warbles, bends, half bends etc, I can play it easy. I still couldn't jump on a jam session or the likes though. I can entertain myself lol, put it that way.
New player here, your vids are super informative and just bought my first blues harp because of you. Haven't even got it yet but enjoy learning from your vids
Great tutorials and a big thank you for making them available to average Joes, like me. I might actually get competent at playing a musical instrument one day. The harmonica is definitely a versatile and convenient tool and I was lucky to find your works to get inspired. Again Thanks !!
Been playing for some months now and I’m so thankful for finding your videos.. I love the style and just not having the tabs is nice bc when you play something I pause and try to learn it first and idk your videos are really getting me to just play for fun and not get so serious with tabs and stuff to follow . I mean I still like that you tell us what your doing though ahaha
Hello there I really appreciate what you said about training your ears and how harmonica legends played harmonica. Really inspired me. I subscribed immediately. I’m looking forward to progress in playing harmonica. Thank you.
I've been watching your videos for awhile now, and recently just saw this one. I've been plaving harp on and off since the 70's when after seeing James Cotton live, I bought that Folkways Blue Harp instruction album you have behind you- what a coincidence. Thanks for the video's Adam, you've help me regain the groove.

Just got my first harmonica which is a Fender Blues Deluxe in C, a Hohner Crossover is on the way, but single note has been a challenge for me... patience and practice...
That's a great lesson - a tutorial perhaps better describes it. I have your blues scale pdf and video - and this lesson/video extends melodically some patterns which makes sense to me. Hope there are more available.
Great stuff Adam just bought the harmonica i,m sixty two might be a bit slow picking it up but love trying keep the lesson coming cheers Mick Nottingham UK

I love your videos, can you please do a video on your song whistling the blues? I can't seem to find a recording of it in its original for me to compare myself too.
Awesome licks to learn thanks. Im 3 months in and digging my new instrument! On the last lick is it okay to just shift only your lower jaw to the next reed rather than the whole mouth? Both work for me. Just curious if one sounds better or is more advantageous.
My Marine Band Hohner C is 50 years old. Always kept in original box. It sounds deeper than yours. Do they lose their pitch over time? I love your teaching approach. Great instructor
Thanks as always for the video. The last riff you've done before and I tried it then and now and I can't seem to get it right. I know it's a simple riff but when I do it it sounds like Woody Woodpecker. Maybe some subtle timing in it. I'll keep trying
Hi!! I was wondering why my playing is flat comparing to your playing... I just bought my harmonica C, it's a Special 20 Progressive M. Hohner. Is it me or the harmonica? haha! I can't get a clear tuned note when I play the 2 and 3... :(
Question. Is there somebody familiar with peg leg sam rhytmhes? Can't hear what he is doing. Or somebody who has the same style. Sonny terry maby. Too difficult for me. Just a beginner😅 Sound a lot like fox chase, but with a twist
