GREAT LESSONS! At age 75 and just starting I’m glad I have a “pause” button so I can work at each item that is taught. Very condensed.

It's funny, I'm looking at the 101 likes (one of them mine) vs. the 5 dislikes, and I'm thinking Who the heck felt that this was enough of a waste of their time to actually click the "thumbs down"? Whatever. I find your tutorials immensely helpful.

It is surprising, isn't it? My hunch is that some people are still angry at a recent video I did in which I pushed back, gently and respectfully, but also firmly and directly, against our current president's comment that four duly elected members of the U.S. Congress, three of whom were born in America, should "go back where they came from." So they've now decided to vote thumbs down--even in the face of something helpful and briskly paced like this. It's funny! I have an image of Clint Eastwood in GRAN TORINO growling "Rrrrrrrrrrghhhhh!" at the whole world.

thank you so much for these lessons. I played clarinet and bass clarinet for almost 10 years and because I live in a flat now clarinet really is too loud to practice, thus I started practicing harmonica. One thing that I missed in these beginner lectures is how to do a proper embouchure and once I lowered my jaw and pressed tongue on the bottom of my mouth, that 2 draw finally sounded like a note and not a seal crying. Thank you once again for the knowledge you are sharing

Hows the progress so far?
Harmonica is one of those instruments that people have the easiest time to play and pick-up initially making lots of progress from the time they pick up the instrument but drastically tapering in improvement thereafter. Hope you stuck with it and continue to improve!

Been playing for some months now and I’m so thankful for finding your videos.. I love the style and just not having the tabs is nice bc when you play something I pause and try to learn it first and idk your videos are really getting me to just play for fun and not get so serious with tabs and stuff to follow . I mean I still like that you tell us what your doing though ahaha

That's a great lesson - a tutorial perhaps better describes it. I have your blues scale pdf and video - and this lesson/video extends melodically some patterns which makes sense to me. Hope there are more available.
Notwithstanding Mr. Gussow's advice about learning it by ear and not needing tabs, I found it useful to have them.
Note: I'm not sure about Lick #3; it's not clear to me how he's switching between the draws and blows. I hope someone can correct me if it's not right.

Ich kann das immer noch nicht verstehen das sie keine Probleme haben mit dem Holz- Kamm der Marine Band.
Bei uns in Deutschland quellen die Holz- Kämme immer auf so das man die Harps nicht spielen kann.
Sind die Marine Bands in denn Staaten anders ?
Oder lackieren sie die Harps selber nach ?
Würde mich über eine Antwort freuen oder ein Video dazu

I still cannot fathom how you dont have any problems with the Marine Bands' Comb.
Here In Germany the wood-combs of the Marine Band always swell up so you cant play the harps anymore.
Are the Marine Bands different in the US? Or do you "repair" them yourself?

So ive just bought myself a C special 20 harp by Hohner and if i do the first riff it sounds so insanely different than what you do haha
Awesome licks to learn thanks. Im 3 months in and digging my new instrument! On the last lick is it okay to just shift only your lower jaw to the next reed rather than the whole mouth? Both work for me. Just curious if one sounds better or is more advantageous.
