Cheers Rory, that looked a fun trip. I’m pleased to report I have a whole 1 hours training on the C42 in my log book now. Shame that holidays & work mean I can’t get up again for a month :( I won’t be catching you up any time soon.
It’s been a great weekend so far with my 3 favourite UA-cam channels. I’ve sailed in Australian waters with Free Range Sailing, fixed a motorbike exhaust with Mustie 1 and now taken a trip with Rory on Air. Really living my dreams through other people’s experiences.
Love North Wales, by chance, we've ended up staying near to RAF airfields and its great fun - from the ground - to be near Talyllyn lake or the Mach Loop, I've also friends in Dinas Mawddwy too. For GA aviators, one needs to have eyes in back of ones head though. EDIT:- Love Caernarfon museum too, the new cafe looks nice, last time, I was there, by car, we had a Sea King give us a wave as they headed off into the murk to rescue some poor soul. IIRC Caernarfon is the home (birth place) of air-sea rescue.
Rory On Air yes it would, Hawks, F15s, Hercs et al all blast through the Mach Loop "Typhoon, formation, entering Mach Loop, clockwise". Makes my hair stand on end.....coooool!
Another great video Rory . Love flying in helicopters too, but sadly only as crew. Nothing beats flying yourself though and like you get great enjoyment taking people for flights.

Ben Atkinson cheers Ben. I had heard the restaurant is back in business and I fully intend to come back. Hopefully you’ll be qualified by then. Thanks for watching. 👍
Watching that brought back a few memories. One of my favourite flights was Barton to Caernarfon, lunch and then back to Barton for a final brew. Seen that approach view a few hundred times, although it was 27/09 back then. Since moved to sunnier climes, do miss flying from Barton though (1994 - 2007). Thanks for the memory Rory.
Hi Daniel, thanks for watching and I’m glad you enjoyed the flight down memory lane. Caernarfon is a beautiful place to fly into and I’ll have a special place in my heart for Barton. Enjoy the sun!
I came across your amazing channel a couple of days ago! I will be starting my Pilots licence on Tuesday, at Gloucestershire Airport (The Uk's busiest General aviation airport!). I will be learning in the Ikarus c42 as well. I'm really chuffed that I'm able to do this at my age (16 years old), and it will be a great experience and the start of something big.
Dan Price Hi Dan, good for you getting started with your licence - I hope it goes well. It’s a fabulous hobby and I’m sure you’ll learn fast given your age. I’m delighted you enjoy the channel and hopefully you’ll find some of the content useful. Check out Ben Atkinson at Kemble airfield - I have a link to his UA-cam on mine. He’s almost qualified now but has been sharing films of his lessons which might be useful to you too. Rory
Rory On Air funny enough, I was going to check out his channel yesterday as you spoke about him in one of your videos! The airport he is based at is only down from the road from me, I went there last year for an interview for a scholarship, but sadly didn’t get it. One thing that I would love to know about is costs about landing at set airports etc when you hire out a plane, is there an easy way of finding information about this; or maybe a future video idea?
Dan Price good stuff - definitely worth checking out Ben’s videos. Landing fees vary but it’s a good question - I will mention it in future I think. Usually somewhere between £5 and £15 for microlights.
Rory On Air that’s cheaper than I thought! You should definitely come and try out Staverton airport (Gloucestershire), it’s lovely - proper nice busy general aviation airport with a nice pub/cafe too... but I think it would be really interesting if you involved like the price of the landing fee for the airport You’re landing at. Will you be going to RIAT this year at fairford?
