Brian for the love of my customers. It is 6:15pm. It is dark out, it is only 33 degrees. I am going to go out right now and do a late night emergency leaf removal job. There are some family issues that the customer is dealing with and it has to be done now. But I am tired, it is cold But I love my customers and this is a need so I am going to go out. I did finish the mowing season today!!! Now leaf clean up.
Hey Brian, I’m looking to order a new work truck for next year and thinking I’m going with an f350 crew cab as well instead of a dump. Wanted your opinion on that dump insert with the short bed. I’m going to run a plow and a dump insert also but debating on the short bed vs long bed with the insert.
@@BriansLawnMaintenance that’s what I was thinking and for some of my properties on tighter streets for swinging, but then I think about all my cleanups and hauling multiple wheel barrows and such and wondering if it’ll be enough room. You never run into situations where you wish you had a long bed?
That is why i build my boxes out of wood. You can just attach something where you need. If you still have issued with blow out on the top rail, try attaching a pool noodle on very top or pipe insulation then pull tarp down. Should give a good seal. Leaf on.
You should really run the tarp single layer and much larger of an area for venting.... That small square is going to restrict the flow and it will clog easy.... I would have the entire top all mesh. If you have problems you can always cut that top plywood back to just like a 1 foot strip across and then replace that area with the tarp. You will be amazed how much better the loader will suck up. Trust me I have built no short of 20 leaf box setups.... prob more like 30 over the years
Be-leaf it or not We loaded up mowers today and mowed 60°souther tier NY Didnt rain! Was supposed to? All the leafs down yet? Almost! Mowin, blowin' and not sure about Snowin' Mowvembrrrr!
Great video Brain and Rob, wouldn’t the box be cheaper this year because the wood prices went down? But since you are going to have your ploe barn next year are you going to get rid of all the storage units?
Dude!...You got paint on the blacktop!.....i´m tellin
Nice set up guys
does that fit thru a drive through now?
Some drive throughs yes lol
Hey Brian, did you have to add any shocks or suspension to your truck to accommodate the weight of the leaves?
Nope!

Good and cheap and looks great
You should put some Brians lawn Maintance stickers on there so you can have a mobile billboard
Good idea!

Harbor freight is a life saver. They really have stepped up their game the past 5 years.

I personally went with a SuperCrew short bed, it allows us to get into tighter spots while plowing.

Looks Good To Me 👍 And The Price Was Even Better 😊
Do you remember the measurements of this box ? Have a short bed dump insert also. And think this would work great for me
We did on our construction video where we made the box.
Hopefully your next truck is an "actual truck" with an 8' bed LOL! Keep up the great work!
Plowing with a crew cab long bed would be so fun
;)

This has worked great so far.. no issue. But if we need more venting we always can reduce the top and create more room for the tarp, agreed.

300 in wood last year, 1200 this year 😇
Don’t you got a farm or 3 acres, why rent a storage unit. What about trailer with high sides and a extended area for a tractor.
He is still breaking ground on the property
Saving money for a pole barn, renting from the storage lockers is extremely cost effective for us at this time!
